Big Horse Heart
Big horse heart
is sure pumping
oxygen deprivation
at 20,000 feet
breathing from the cylinder
icepick in hand
clouds far down beneath
sun on the rockfall ahead
I choose this life
to breathe hard is to compete
nature sets the board
we move the pieces
going all out now
assault on the peak
the pinnacle glowing
in the morning rays
we radio to base
summited!
