Fade to blue and grey

There's a girl on the poster board
you can spot her from the bus
a small alluring interval
on a mediocre ride
each day she fades more
to blue and grey
pigments washing out
edges torn
and in time
she'll be replaced
by an advertisement
for doughnuts
and all the men
will silently sigh
for there's one less peg
holding up the day

I agree with Didi .. Most probably it's going to be replaced by a new more alluring pic of another girl !! innocent

I really like the analogy, if you will. wine I also love the color you chose for your background, it brings to mind a moody, storm approaching sky. Like some other commenters had mentioned, she will most likely be replaced with another more attractive lady. wine cowboy

I can completely relate to fading imagery this poem brings to mind. Nothing lasts forever but the earth, wind, and time. handshake

It is strange how easily something can perk up our days, even though they begin to fade, they can still touch our hearts and then one day they are gone, sometimes replaced by something silly. Mind you, I wouldn't mind the donut. I am always thinking on my stomach. Have a wonderful Friday ..... Mike.
