they post each other so openly
with their devotional sentiments
toward one another a wide, awake
for all the rest of us to see

why do I feel uncomfortable
as an intruder, some interloper
into the unabashed beautiful display
of two people opening hearts

as if to see their blood spilled
on some dusty lane in midsummer
the worldly army marching past
oblivious to the cradled in arms

bringing together or tearing apart
no matter to the future, evening
they look at each other eye-to-eye
and know all love is right now
