it's been a year since you've been gone
the impact of your death not as strong
for time indeed heals all wounds
though some get healed way too soon
i wrote of you then as world keened on
shocked that you were pointless gone
the depth of purpose for each anew
brought to forefront of universal view
again i come back to you, witness death
Abbas went away then to breathe on breath
but never your life can be fled or freed
maybe pointless isn't pointless we must cede

Neda
We don't know how the story ends
not even our chapter, just done, period.
She lays on the street and looks at me
the camera sees the futility of it.
I wonder what was going through her mind
in those few minutes after she'd been shot
did she know the jig, was she a bystander
to her own end, dispassionately watching
her life dripped into the street
as the worldly camera pixilates the scene.
right eye fixed, blood is all that's left
warm on her face the sun shown above
does Allah will this? Who's God anyway?

It is good to have you remind us, and the Abbas of the world, of the prices paid as life dripped into the street.
God is the chap who forgave it before it happened, for forgiveness means an awareness that forgiveness is unecessary.
