Powerball

Powerball

The powerball got up to 950 million dollars Saturday night, but didn't go out. The odds of winning are 292 million to 1. It will be picked again on Wednesday where it is supposed to reach 1.3 billion or more. My ticket had two matching numbers. You need three number to get four bucks.

Another Shooting

Another Shooting

I could go on for a long time on this topic. We had a shooting at a plant in Columbus, Indiana on March 10. An employee shot his boss and then himself. We even had the top safety guy come out and tell us how to protect ourselves if there is an active shooter. Run, hide, and as last resort defend yourself.

Masks

Masks?

We got the word that starting in June there will be no masks required at work if you have your covid shots and have two weeks after, then they put a sticker on your badge. Those who are afraid of the shots have to keep wearing those darn masks.

I have really gone a long way from VCR to DVR. No tapes to store and a better image. The time it used to take to fast forward through commercials is a real time saver.

Campaign Speech

Campaign Speech

I have been following Trump, Bernie, and Hillary. The latest Trump ad has Hillary barking like a dog. She actually did this at a campaign rally. It would be fun to be president, if you could actually bring about the positive changes I wish for everyone.

SILENT VOICES

SILENT VOICES

I wrote this poem when poetry was in my blood, in 2013. I have been re-reading my poetry hoping it would spark my visions off again. Sadly it did not, but this poem speaks volumes as nothing has indeed changed.

The hypocrisy and contradictions of our world in century 21...vast knowledge, huge wealth, yet war, poverty, disease and suffering are rampant, while others enjoy fantastic comforts and luxuries...

MONSTER

MONSTER

This song was written around 1968 during the heyday of Vietnam and national unrest. But, I feel it can be applied to any time frame, or to any nation for that matter. Tears filled my eyes as I typed this, just as they always have when I would hear the song. I was going to write a long-winded dissertation of the futility of humanity, but I am afraid there wouldn't be the space available. I will say this...there is little that is humane about humanity. Yes, there are pockets of folks and a few organizations that at least try to help their brother, but they have become and probably always were merely a proverbial 'drop in the bucket'. Wish we could fill that bucket...

The Tale of the Old Man Part VIII

The Tale of the Old Man (Part VIII)

So for me sadly I have come to the end. To stop after this effort is almost like losing a friend. I thank all who had the patience and inclination to follow my meanderings through history. Those that did I hope it was an enjoyable experience for it certainly was for me creating it. Once again I thank all.

Guilt

Guilt

Witnessed this incident yesterday where guilt was written all over a girl's face as she was confronted of something wrong she's done. Made me think why humans tend to find it easier to justify the action or become defensive instead of accepting and apologising. The good thing is in this case the young girl has a healthy conscience, guilt made her do the right thing in the end...adults are not that much different.
