I saw a story about soldiers with family and thought of doing a poem for them, how hard it must be.........kind of makes me feel both luck and proud. Feel sorry for the children wanting there family back.. Please comment and tell me what you think of it Thanks
As I enter the afternoon of life, I often pause to pay tribute to and to relish special memories… Kayaking on a gentle African river with my 3-year old daughter, Reliving the wonder, and awe in her eyes, Reliving her keen sense of alertness
Our parents lived united into their eighties, Both dying within a few months of each other. Dad (Mick) would say..... "Society has taken away "the slap".... But replaced it with nothing !" Mam ( Maggie ) would say..... "Entice birds to your garden they bring smiles..... and smiling is a cheap way to improve your looks." God bless them both !
As we sit here having Hot coco wrapping gifts Memories flll my head Trimming the tree just us three Your faces filled with with glee You were so worried about santas cookie You wound dance around and sing I think you knew every Christma
Carved utilitarian shape, varnished with age, worn, brown wooden spool once a tree, living, now reduced to only inches - three. Red fibers wrapped tightly ‘round, and, in the wrapping to keep together, both lights and shadows appear, as fiber
As you can see, this poem was written many years ago. I am revisiting the echoes of the past today and sharing a couple of them with you. Those old poems show me my growth and are chapters of my life. We can all relate to the dust that has collected and sometimes I learn new things from mine.
Twenty nine year old Susan Vale parked her car on this cold December morn.. She wrapped her fur coat tightly around her neck and commenced the one block walk to the Lee Case office building where she worked as a Para Legal. For twelve years Susa
The picture is the Porter Thomsen House in Omaha NE where we raised our daughters. On Thanksgiving Day I was remembering the past and wanted to write it down and send it out to the universe through prose with love.
Just paying my respects to my lovely mother ............and also wishing everyone here on PC a very Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year
My daughter grew up over-shadowed by her older sister's "bigger than life" personality. But in my eyes she has always been the wind beneath her sister's big wings. My eldest sure has soared above Jane who spent most of her life looking up to her big sister, refusing to shine on her own. It was emotional for me to see her in a different light...a different girl, or woman rather, on her wedding day.
I wrote this 10 years ago when my daughter cut me from her life. I haven't seen her or my precious grandchildren since. I've obviously worked through the pain, but the memory lingers.
Dad's promise to his daughter.
Dedicated lovingly to her...
I've been BLESSED to have time with my 18 year old son over the past 2 weeks as he's enjoying a summer break before going back to his college Sophomore year. He's working with me and showing me just why I'm so proud of him!! He'll be gone to soon, but I'm soaking up as much enjoyment from his time as I possibly can!..... and.... he's just like me!! :-)
I am the wind that lifts you up So you might soar aloft Spread your wings my love and rise And be the best you can I'll be there should you fall To take away the pain Wipe your tears, lift you up And let you soar again http://pho
My children are all my perfect people.
What can I say …..
Just thinking of the tenderness of a child's heart and how something so small to us, can be so BIG for them. Parents... don't miss the chance to tell your children how much you love them!
For my children.
In the attempt to give it one more try, I knew would be the first and last to cry. All I wanted was that father daughter bond, I was happy when you made the effort to respond. Not knowing how long it would last, But didn’t think it would be thi
For all you piece of shit fathers out there, this poem is dedicated to you. A child never has the option to be brought into this world and it's yours, mine, anyone's responsibility to show your child how much they mean to you. You never know what tomorrow holds...
To my only sister

To refresh our mind & heart..
we both learned to ride it out, as cartwheels turned to car wheels
I often feel that lost kindred souls are never far away.
Just wishing Nu on his bday...very quiet...such is a crab's way...he told me to not do anything.. So I tried...and I found out ... I won't do it again. I'm a lion after all...I was born to ROAR! :-D
I actually witnessed this event. I wrote this piece after reading a poem entitled "Too Much Love Can Kill" which pointed out that several children from middle class families end up killing themselves through drug use or suicide after they move away from over-protective parental control which imposes a lot of pressure on them to be super achievers.
to my daughter
Took this long to get to the point where I could write this.
I know you loved him. I loved him too. He was my daddy before he had you. He left me all alone and I went on. And soon memory of him was gone. At one time I made him up. In my mind to be what I wanted him to be. Just to fill the empty spot,
Dedicated to TP4G and her amazing courage that probably saved several lives. Those of her children and abusive ex-husband as well as her own.
I wrote this poem in Feb of 1971, it's dedicated to my daughter. Does she truly know how special, she will always be to me ?
Sitting, waiting Just contemplating Listening to my son playing video games "I will train the animal!" That's what the video game said I didn't mean my son was an animal
I was so very fortunate growing up a young child to know a very sweet and loving grandmother, (Maggie), who taught me how to study nature and learn all the birds by their songs and all the flower names by the little rhymes she made up for them that grew along the roadside. She has been long gone now, but in my heart I will always cherish her.
Exercising that balance between work and home is a daily ritual for most of us.....this poem relfects on that.
Happy Mother's Day to all mothers..
I thought I've written on this topic before...I really should be sleeping now...
Please let me know if i got it.
Based on a traditional family setting
‘Wife!,' cried the impatient husband. ‘Fetch me my boots, I have friends I need to meet.’ Fetch them yourself, thought the wife, as she delivered them to his feet. ‘Wife!,' cried the greedy husband. ‘Get me food, for my hunger must be satisfied
