This is written in memory of Christina.... ( Pseudonym Odette67), a C/S Poetess who graced this corner for years with special poetry and honest critique. She lived in the beautiful Lake District in Cumbria, England and passed away earlier this year. Her favourite poetry form was a Sonnet so this one is for you Dear Christina. It was a gorgeous sunny day ... On the day you passed away. Suddenly, the day didn’t seem so nice anymore ... I was feeling so hurt, down to my very core. Since then I’ve thought of you, day in and day out ... I just miss you so deeply
for my children!
I wrote this piece for my mother, who passed away Feb 23, 2013, after a long battle with cancer and other complications. I consider her one of the bravest people I've ever known. She was a true warrior in her fight. I say a special prayer for all those who have had to say good-bye to their mothers. It's a sting that never goes away. Thanks for having a read.
ah well, shit happens!

Some literary and mythic allusions in this one. When Theseus destroyed the Minotaur he returned to Athens by ship. The signal was that if he had white sails he was successful, black sails unsuccessful. Unfortunately he forgot to lower the black sail and his father Aegeus thinking his son was dead, jumped into the sea and killed himself. Hence the sea off Athens is known as the Aegean.
Well - this poem could really relate to what is going on right now in the world. Many are losing loved ones to the COVID-19! Prayers for all dealing with this Monster Virus worldwide.
