About this poem:
This came to me one night when I couldn't sleep. Lying in bed with drifting thoughts. Sorry it's only short but it didn't want to contrive it any furtherThe Broken Man
He once stood here, tall and proud
Master of all that he surveyed
In defiance his beliefs unbowed
And in defeat his dignity displayed
He lived, he loved on borrowed time
The hand of fate would play it's card
With sentence passed on love's great crime
He looks at life with no regard
The time has passed and redemption sought
His dreams are dust and hope subsides
For all his efforts have yielded naught
And into obscurity he slowly slides
He fought and lost in life's great plan
He stands before you, the broken man

Shadows of the past,
Those times were a blast.
Shadows of the past,
you went by WAY too fast.
Shadows of the past,
I haven't seen you last.
With your grotesque beauty,
Your faces aren't a mystery to my
poor eyesight that have seen this world.
But what is it in this world that we want to see?
Some say greed, corrupt, memories, fantasies,
Love, wisdom, honor, courage, luxuries.
Shadows of the past,
As we put our heads to sleep,
You are within us deep,
And thus, Shadows of the past,
with you, we will never be released.
Those times were a blast.

I haven't seen you last.

while my heart belongs to you there will never be another,like i said i love you for ever and ever,these feelings just wont go away, looks like they are here to stay,i will live to fight another day and quietly hour the time away,my heart it breaks it was yours to takeand now i am left empty alone with heartache.my love for you it felt so strong but you left me alone to carry on,i cannot cry,i cannot weep,when i gave you my heart it was for keeps,now all i feel is broken and torn,every day your loss i mourn.i will never forget you,you are etched on my brain,now all i feel is heartache and pain.

i wrote shortly after my boyfriend left me i was feeling hurt,lonely and upset
Broken
Dawn breaks uneasily on his soul
An absence leaves him un whole
A stretch to touch a sweeter sense
By a heart filled with prescience
Changes focused swiftly on
Words omitted or sighs gone
Subtleties missed by others not blessed
A lover's mind can never rest
The afternoon after morning bliss
A thought to a touch to a kiss
How does life progress to a goal
With all this thunder in a soul
Evening grows in her eyes
The light once there now belies
Their passion once worn as battle plates
That weighed them down from greater fates
Darkest night pierces brightest light
Hope forgone and so is sight
Such a wrenching sound it makes
As the lover's heart breaks

Wander in to a feeling in the air
thats grim she sat me down to
confront our truths and banish
secrets we didnt share ,
We relaxed as our doubts were
shared with lots of tears n sorries
interrupted by laughter as the past
unravelled we knew we had to
part or end up sour ,
Woe's end with hugs exchanged
as she said take care also know
i did love you so i bend to pick
up my bags and walk out the door
with a new sense of wonder
