On the horizon I see you standing
You waiting for someone to arrive
There was no way he knew you hurting
When he gently held you again

His arms where full his eye with laughter
The hurt was there for the feeling for ever after
As he gently pushed you away

On the horizon looking like hell

A gloss in your eyes shows your tears rolling
Twinkle in your eyes shows no more laughter
The hurt's showing and it's bad

Who is worth your love and beauty

who he is no one knows; cant tell
he says the perfect words to get you under his spell
then he takes charge and makes you feel like he cares
then he asks for money; something you cant spare
so he steals it all in the name of love
and when you question his reality
he says you just dont trust
the ghost is not who he appears;
he becomes your fantasy-
he does have a voice-
he can be anyone you want him to be
then you fall and dont even know if he is real
cuz he captured you in your need

You are my tunnel of light but never in sight, when all said and done you never met one. At the end of this thought the perfect one is not sort, as all said and done you never had one.

I try to imagine you with a few more wrinkles.
More pucker lines around your mouth
and fatter
More of those liver spots indicative of aging,
a few of your teeth gone brown or missing,
and maybe some sort of growth upon your nose.

I imagine,
in your desperation for
a little bit of the attention
you once had,
you would come back for me.

You would leap out from behind a tree
like on our first date.
You would shout boo
and we would laugh
