While I Slept

The day is for work and so night is the best,
A much treasured sleep, my so beloved rest,
The comfortable folding of hands upon chest,
And here I go creeping t'wards nothingness.

Oh look, it is time for an afternoon nap,
But it should have been twenty, now hours have passed,
The comfortable laying of hands on the lap,
And here I go creeping t'wards wanting and lack.

Hardly open for buis' I prefer the closing of lids
Why work to get rich, my dreams are for this,
The comfortable laying of head upon wrist,
And here I go creeping t'wards if only, I wish!

unraveling dream

unfolding tonight
under a full moon
howling one
lonely wolf
sailing thoughts
howl out
from the mind

lonely unable
to sleep
restless hurt
pains deep inside
thinking in falling
raindrop pearls
of deep love

touching from
clouds softly
in a silver lining
then to feel
holding space
in this time
the gravity pull
what happens
the internet connection
goes down
for half an hour

a fierce tugging
in my earth moved
as her lunar
face circled
full overhead
feeling that
cosmic connection

looking upon
a key
i hold dearly
within these hands
held kissing
laced in ribbons
with the heart
beating red passion

from the center
flickering flutters inside
of desire burning
scorching down
crowning jewels
ruby red rose
on moist salted lips
burns a flame
candle lighting feelings
yearning kissing

sparkle beautiful thoughts
opens the heart
up wide
in wonderment
holding this
amazing dream woman
one look seals
my souls deal
fate our destiny

glee embracing
forever more
always with
the deepest love
my dream
is you

Eventide

Shadows lengthen as unlight fades
It used to be called,
The time of nothing to do.
Boots off and pipes lit
Small talk of work and events
The birds are quiet
The sun is large on the horizon
Absorb its rays into your eye
A panacea for all ills and regrets
for this is as good as it gets.

The night is due when all life sleeps
The world changes in the twilight
It is as though it was all for nothing
And tomorrow will be the same
But never really the same
you say
Yes, but it just seems the same
I am trapped in the machine.

Countless

You can't guess how stress affects inside,
How many times I've lived and died,
Inside this mind of mine,
I've lived countless lives,
Lied countless lies,
Sighed countless sighs
Cried countless cries,
Dried countless eyes,
Written countless lines ,
Finished countless rhymes,
And spit them countless times,
Exactly how many?,
Your guess is as good as mine,
I can't be precise,
I can't count that high...

The Artist

Looking at your profile in my eyes view,
I will capture your look, this elegance and grace,
this portrait will be the essence of you,
such beauty encapsulates your face,
using my fingers to draw the contours of your flesh,
to bring to life this pulsating you,
using colour and hues to make you fresh,
bringing this canvas alive for others to view,
your eyes so gleaming and bright,
soft and pouted vibrant lips,
all will see this light,
creating this masterpiece others will want to kiss,
I will fade one day but you will always be in sight.

About this poem:
Having an artistic bent, yes I can draw but it has been many years since I actually did so with a passion so thought of the emotions and feelings one goes through when trying to capture something on paper, canvas or even in your mind.

Procrastination

To do
Or not to do?
Tomorrow is next day
I promise I will do it then
That's when!

I Got Off Work Early

I got off work early
It was such a nice early Christmas present
45 minutes to myself
Where I won't have to work like an elf
I sang We Are Young by Fun three times in my car
I drank two Mt. Dews cause 21.5 miles is far
When you don't have your sleep
You spend most of the day at work trying not to weep
I played on the computer because I could
I listened to a Republican speech by Clint Eastwood
I listened to Will Ferrell getting yelled at by a little girl
She wanted her rent
Will hadn't put money away like nuts to a squirrel
Money is nice
But is has it's price
You can spend your time making money
Or spend your money making time
In the end it isn't worth the dime
Give me my day off so I can rest
This place feels like a hornet's nest
And I'm tired of getting stung

About this poem:
I am looking forward to November 23 and November 28-December 1 when I will get some good time to myself away from work. Today was nicer than others since I got to leave at 2:15 instead of 3 pm.
