The weight that once held me down,
Now lifted, I'm no longer bound,
The pain that once consumed my heart,
Has faded, and I have a new start.
The memories that once brought me pain,
Are now just echoes in my brain,
The love that once seemed so ideal,
Is now a distant memory that's real.
The heartache that I thought would last,
Has vanished, and I'm free at last,
The tears that once fell from my eyes,
Are gone, and I'm no longer living lies.
Heartache is gone, and I'm moving on,
With a heart that's mended and strong,
The future that once seemed so bleak,
Is now full of promise, and I'll seek.
The love that I thought was lost,
Is now within my reach at any cost,
Heartache is gone, and I'll embrace,
A new love that I'll never replace.

For a very special friend
One of the nicest thing in my life
Is my friendship with you and even if we don't have a lot of time to spend with each other
I want you to always know
How much i appreciate you
And our friendship

Occasionally…
I desire the company of a gentleman,
Someone mature and wise.
A man who knows his own worth,
But is also aware of mine.
A man who…
Doesn’t feel the need to pretend he knows it all;
He listens and reflects.
The things we’d share would bring to bear
Our mutual respect.
Kind and content, faithful and true,
These would be some of his traits.
Understanding, strong and brave too,
Would certainly suffice as good gifts.
And what about his company in places of privacy,
When there’s nobody else there but us?
Well, just as a gentleman never kisses and tells,
That’s not something a lady’d discuss.

Betwixt and between,
The future – unseen –
I dare not believe it could be.
Should I go, should I stay?
Not sure what to say.
He doesn’t know aught about me.
I do, and I don’t,
I will, but I won’t.
What shall become of me then?
There’s no use denying;
I’d only be lying
If I said I was ready again.
I‘m good on my own.
But to not be alone
Would be my ideal remedy.
A friend who’s just right
Would be a delight.
But my wavering mind foils me.

A hacker has come to cohabit my flat
controlling whatever I do
Regrettably too and on top of all that
wherever I go it comes too
Since it arrived and infected my thinking
my life has been truly debased
to where I’ve practically doubled my drinking
and know that to fight is a waste
My cutlery crockery bric-a-brac tools
are constantly in disarray
I seem to be one of the world’s greatest fools
for my gear-shift shifts the wrong way
When I shop and pick out the item my shock
which can only confound belief
is to find once again that they’re out of stock
Does The Hacker want to play Thief?
Why are these creatures so brutally greedy
to seek out their pitiful prey?
Or is it the drowning cry of the needy
and hopelessness losing its way?

King Doobie and his psychedelic band we call Funk,
Dig, all of them were hippies,
Except of the monk,-
Lonesome lovers and their lustful needs,
All married bourbon and their children were weed,-
Forgotten moments flow out our minds,
As we gathered in a tepee and smoked us some kind,-
The Doobie King became one of those stars (roar of the crowd),
The peyote seemed to blow him that far!,
(Wow, that's far out, man!),
Yeah, far out into space,
His eyes glowed!- He had no face!,-
The medicine man spoke of his dreams,
But, only the birds understood,
As they sang it in the trees,--
Heartfelt moments in our inner warfare scene,
Tarot cards and fine machines,-
A mental disturbance at the local lunatic house,
Between a lonely man and this hot looking nurse (ugh),-
Stranger sounds from padded walls,
But, only the birds above can hear their calls,-
Warlocks and witches,
Dressed in white,
Frolic the halls in the dead of night?!,
Could that be more frightening,
Than the Orange Sunshine?,
The LSD took it's flight,-
The voodoo woman spoke of their dreams,
Only the birds understand,
As they sing it in the trees,--
(The sounds of birds are singing in the background diminishing as the sound of a cuckoo bird raises higher, then fades)

About this poem:
Written 3-9-1997, before Neighbors, I found that this would be a good conclusion to it by a two-part song. Part one, hard and heavy metal style and part two, more "acid" rock, mellow style with more different instruments involved. Perhaps like a portrait painting with an abstract psychedelic background. Did works like that back in college majoring in art. Blew some people's minds! lol

I got a treat of free golf with a golf cart yesterday
It was at a golf course I used to be a member at in 1994 around May
It was hole number 16 that sits about 150 yards from my parking spot
I connected with a six iron and the ball flew up and hot
Sticking on the green about three feet away
Telling myself to sink the putt there would be nothing my head would say
Clear your mind of all the junk
And into the hole the ball went with a plunk
I had golfed this hole about 100 times before
But since it is rare for me to edit my thoughts, the good shots went out the door
So like in life if you can clear your mind of the bad
You can do things that will make you glad
I'm still working on this as I am 52
So I can enjoy my life till it is through

About this poem:
One of my favorite golf shots happened long ago with my brother. It was a par 3, first shot off tee went into a bunker, second shot stayed in the bunker, third shot rolled onto the green and into the hole, a par.

You catch the smell of trouble
like a festering stew
and a good cop knows
the way Harry Callahan knew
that when the low-life breed
there's only one recourse
polish that badge
and apply Magnum Force

About this poem:
Please add a line. Let it take the poem forwards. Allow it to be as open as possible for the next line that follows. You can add more than one line, but no consecutive additions.
Let's see where it leads.
Let's try for about 2/3 weeks worth.
I'll compile and publish it on here at the end of that time.

If I was your man
I would help you stand
I would hold you up and pull you out your sinking sands
And I know its hard for you to trust a man
But if I'm anyone, I'm the one you truly can
I know you got your walls
And girl, I understand
You take em all down, let yourself fall
Get your heart broke all over again
Don't take em down for me
Cause I want to break em
I wanna prove to you I'm not the bricks that made them
I'd be your best friend
A shoulder you could cry on
I'd be there til the end
My heart you could rely on
I'd never let you down
Cause I am not a clown
In my kingdom I'm a peasant
And you're the one who wears the crown
If I was your man
You'd never have to feel alone
You'd never have to worry that I had some other women on the phone
Yeah I've made some mistakes
You live and you learn
I've always felt that every fallen leaf deserved another turn
And it was you that flipped me over
You're my saving grace
In a deck that's full of jokers
I could be your winning ace
I'd be your best friend
A shoulder you could cry on
I'd be there til the end
My heart you could rely on
I'd never let you down
Cause I am not a clown
In my kingdom I'm a peasant
And you're the one who wears the crown
