Silly Heart

Stupid heart of mine!
Don't you know
That there are places you should
Not go...
That store there...
Yes the one with the discount sign
Look closely
You will see, they are divorced unhappily.
And down that street,
Yes, where he said to meet
That is smack in the middle of love em and leave em town
C'mon stupid heart,
Just turn around.
No do not linger...

Lets Be Real

'I would talk to you
..of many things..'

The last yellow leaf...
clinging tenaciously..
to it's illusions..
......
the chorus of birds..
symphony of scavengers...
as they fight for..
the last crumbs of fall.

the face of strangers...
as they look at each...
imagined conversations..
in my head...

the pride with which..
a ring is worn...
saying, Look!!..
I have someone..

a cold winter rain..
the depression it forces..
in our lives...

the wonderful heat..
of the sun...
on your face...
when the air is brisk..
the wind calm...

all these and more...
speak volumes..
a rush of words..
impossible to notate..
and lost with the breath..
of time...
only a dim remembrance..
left in my ear..
poems lost in the clutter...
of life...

stupid jealousy..
when I hear a phrase..
in a song and feel..
why didn't I think of that..

...............

the aura of your pain..
around the edge of your words...
a dark blue glow...
that echoes the depth of the sea...
I would I could be...
an island where...
you can stretch on the sand...
warmed by the love of the sun...
and rest from your ceaseless struggle...
to stay a float...

..................

My hand over my heart
when I read your words.
....

the night...
can you feel your bed..
tremble with the throbbing...
of my desire...
my need so great...
I fear...
it would consume you..

cerebral fantasies engulf me.

cerebral images absorb my soul...

cerebral love, flavor so exquisite..

but like Chinese food...

leaves you yearning..

hungering...

for something more substantial...

The Girl I Used To Be

Among the cluttered archives of my pondering
Lie the memories of a girl who I used to be,
My eyes alight,
Radiant as the sun,
But my figure grows dim,
With every breath that's drawn.

The inquiring mind's question lie eternally quiet
My heart's inner strength quietly accrued,
The insistent cruelty claims my will as it's prize,
embedding it's hatred into my deepest confines,
Riddled with conflict, despair, and my recent host.

My identity peals
my former self is now like a ghost.
As I cling to the memories
of what once innocence I had
a searing pain streams through me
as I mourn.

This girl is pure as rain
It is now all gone
I resolved, self-assurance
Will, and life all won.

Won by a cruelty too often given on the timid
Teased and criticized, abused by critique
Judgment weighs on my slight frame
The weight of the world... I am to blame
She loves on in spite of her imminent demise
Rendered by those I loved so deeply.
With once my bright eyes

The eyes reflect on this tattered soul
The eyes that grow dim as she will never be whole
Damaged and beaten by life itself
The irony is uncanny
The toll it has taken is so real
This shell keeps going
A outsider she is now
The opposite of a corpse
She is now the living dead
Why her heart continues beating
or blood flows through her veins
Why she draws in breath
Or why she even has a name...
Is a questioning plea
for someone to reclaim.
The girl I used to be

Carry Her Over The Water

Carry her over the water,
And set her down under the tree,
Where the culvers white all days and all night,
And the winds from every quarter,
Sing agreeably,agreeably,agreeably of love.

Put a gold ring on her finger,
And press her close to your heart,
While the fish in the lake snapshots take,
And the frog,that sanguine singer,
Sing agreeably,agreeably,agreeably of love.

The streets shall flock to your marriage,
The houses turn round to look,
The tables and chairs say suitable prayers,
And the horses drawing your carriage
Sing agreeably,agreeably,agreeably of love.

no title

crescent soul casting stones from the pebbles by the well
breath of dawn to gather but only time will tell
for sorrow makes a love sweeter than lonely song
as if all are are dreams gone wrong were just the price to belong
and with the ripples through her hair the last stars had fallen
through a bridge at the end time made from yesterdays

A Love Song…

I’m sittin’ here all alone listening to Krishna Das, something or other about ‘sita ram’, lol…, soothing…,
My heart aches mightily though,
‘Cause it’s being torn asunder,
Like the two mighty branches of the river Nile in Northern Africa,
The White Nile and the Blue Nile as they meet at their point of convergence,
Ever ordained to flow together,
Yet never destined to meld,
I’m half a soul looking for its other half,
I’ve loved many others, but no one like you,
You, I love differently!
How?

I’ve looked into the eyes of many beautiful women,
But when I looked into your sparkling eyes yesterday, they reached into my soul and beckoned it back from Hades/from numbness,
The energy of those eyes,
Their youth,
Their playful laughter,
Literally brought me back from a love-less life…,
And, is there anything worse than a love-less life?

As you spoke to me,
Your melodious, erotic and extremely suggestive voice,
Filled my groin with a longing so potent, I could have emitted enough energy to light up New York for a week…

Next, you touched me,
Oh my G_d,
You touched me…,
The communion that rippled so tumultuously through me would have split the Grand Canyon in half, had the job not already been done…

Then, then,
Still holding my hand,
Still having your delicious web totally entwined about my everything,
You asked me the unthinkable question:-
“I have someone that would be perfect for you, can I introduce you to her?”

And, thus,
Unable to speak, struck totally dumb by your commanding and total allure,
I let go of your hand and changed the subject,
As, you see,
You are the ‘untouchable’, you’re the wife of another,
Thus, our love, our fire,
Will never be quenched…
And every time I think of you,
I cry myself to sleep…

just pondering....

I imagine my bed
as an intergaltic starship.

In this white iron bed,
this white clapboard house,
I am sailing through the universe.
in black space.

All around me,
on asteroids,
are the people who
have touched my life:
my twins, waving like
two little princes drawn
by Saint-Exupe'ry;

My mother waving from
her intergaltic funny farm;
my father, making origami birds to sail
off across space to the twins
(the twins he never saw,
yet of course sees)......

My granny planting her
rose garden on her asteroid
and praising the astounding
energy of postmenopausal women.

The earth, I see is a tiny spore
hurtling through deep space.
From my vantage point in the intergaltic bed-
which has now left the earth
and is sailing effortlessly through
the cosmos alone, with me in it-

I see not only the smallness
of the earth but its astonish vulnerability.

Earth, moon, and stars all
can be snuffed in a second by
a whiff of cosmic breath.

And I in my bed hurtling
through space-time,
with only my dog to comfort me.

From my bed I wave
to everyone I have ever loved.

This vision sooths me.

The voice of female pain
predicting male unpredictability,
declaring in song that nothing between
men and women is new under the sun.

About this poem:
I pondered this
for some reason
while studying
and thinking how
much males and females
have advanced through the years,
I however plead the 5th upon
my conclusion :)

Falling soul

Life and soul
within jeopardy's reach
rolling water
runs down
The face changes
blood hounds kiss red
the beast ravishing inside hunger

Rising warm burning
within each and every beat
one star gazing beauty
invading desires burn
sizzling hot
with sweet raw
dazzling passion
every word sparkles
with a smile

Howling into
the dark space
in a clear night sky
wishing lonely
in this dream
staring upon
a full
pale white moon face
in distant thoughts smiling

I would darling
sweetheart lay
my life
down honey
for only
you my love
Leaving the soul
in your
capable hands
walking inside
the garden

Holding us together
forever young and free
blooming always to you
Petals softly glow
warming enchanting magic
Swept away I am
on a celestial breeze
in an after space
bliss is heaven
in your arms

Sweet baby you're an angel
leaving an army of kisses
safely under your pillow
Each one to kiss every last single dream
so perfectly true
shining such light
on only you love

Friends and family

Sitting in the sun !
Having me some fun !
Haven't been home for a year!
Lots of tears we shared !
Now it's time to cheer !
I'm even drinking a beer !
All the friends that use to be
Are here for all to see !
How much we've aged
I remember when we would sit out front
Getting drunk !
Some are still the same !
What can I say ?
It doesn't change the past !
For we always had a blast !
We all sit here and share our favorite stories !
And many memories too!
Some even pull out old pictures!
Oh the laughs we share!
Nothing could compare !
A few have passed away !
All were remembered today!
I will go to the cementary
Visit my mother and my father
Thank them each for a special gift !
My mother I will thank for giving me my brothers !
My father I will thank for loving another's children !
It's been 20 years since I moved away !
The deep love I have for my friends and family
Still feels the same to this day!
Here's to another glorious day!

The Heart That Loves.

Shine like the sun, shine so bright,
Feelings flow through body divine.
Light of lights, my bodies life,
Desire It sends Into my Soul,
Passion rises like the blood,
Flowing on to memories end.
Desire does flow to Love's home,
Let It In divinity abide.
My Love flows, a mighty sea,
Flowing through my temple shining.
Always my Love does find your home,
Within the blooming heart,
"The Heart That Loves."
