Well DEM have been on the retrat since the 2010. The American people did not like Obamacare being pushed down their throats.
Hence buried the DEM canidates that supported it.
Obama spoke 120 times on health care reform during his 2008 run.
To the American people, he and the health bill are joined at the hip. Notice how little the White House today talks about health care.

But as they attempted to do that. They got stuck again. This time on the economy. That old 'no higher than 8.0 unemployment rate'
sticks in there.

Now he seem to be walking away from the Afghan fight....with the withdrawal. Unless he begins some more covert operations....and they are successful....one can expect his approvals to dip and fall again.
The door has been cracked open. But no solid REP/Tea Party canidate has stepped thru to push it open and take it to the wire for a 2012 win.

President Obama made a great annonucement lately regarding begining of pulling out american troops as promissed and in his speech made sure that people know that, he beleives it is time to focus more on american issues and it is time to use more money on rebuilding the american economy and creating american jobs now when OBL finally is gone and the war in Afghaistan is begining to show better results for America and allies generally.
Involving some parts of afghan rebelions who are ready to stop violence and ready to begin cooporating with the afghan government and are ready to be one of the politcal parties over there instead of blowing up human beings is a good begining and no nody shall forget that the exact same have been happening in several countries and have worked for sure.
America or allies can never gain if staying in war for ever in Afghanistan or else where and wars and occupation keeps creating opposition and inoncent as well will be targeted by mistake and one time or another we got to leave and in the same time keeping an open eye toward that area and strike if necessary and now on days with all these fabulous tecnologies and military know how and so on... it is possible not to have troops on the ground and still making sure bad guys knowing we watch them and are not allowing them harming us all.
America and allies are definately waiting for their sons and daughters coming back home and starting over and being a part of rebuilding own countries and keep staying at war is no good for any body whom so ever.
Republicans began to talk a bout it is time for America pulling out from Afghanistan after the succesful mission against OBL, and now when the president have made this decision the same Republicans mouning and whinning a gainst the same! Pretty odd but no wonder what so ever since Republicans are there just to try their best making the american president Fail and THAT absolutely irresponsible behaviour of GOP is a stincky reality with no care what so ever a bout America or what benefits America unfortunatily.

You forget.....GWB increased our special operation teams by 65,000 men, developed the stealth helo that carried them to OBL compound, and provided the EIT intelligence gathering techniques that aided to locate OBL compound in Pakistan......
Just like Truman ended WWII with the decision to drop the atomic bomb after FDR death. It was FDR that approved the Manhattan project that gave him the atomic bomb to drop.
Ironically.....on 911 both DEM, REP and IND died....as well as some 216 foreigner living in the country. It took efforts of both REP and DEM to bring OBL to justice. Because if we did not have a presence in AFghanistan, which GWB ordered only 2 weeks after 911.
