jvaski: Well FUD......then maybe you can explain just why Indiana is such a beacon of bright light over California ........

Hundreds of thousands of Indiana residents are unemployed and underemployed. Although the state’s unemployment rate is slightly better than that of its neighboring states, a striking number of people here — a significantly greater percentage than in Illinois or Ohio — have simply left the work force altogether since the dawn of the recession.

For the second year in a row, Hoosiers ranked fifth nationally in personal bankruptcies, at 7.1 people per 1,000 residents. (Illinois came in 11th.) Indiana’s median family income is just 86 percent of that of the rest of the country.

Property tax caps, put in place over the past few years, offer relief to limping homeowners but have pushed school boards and city leaders, they say, into rounds of budget cutting and layoffs.

The governor has streamlined agencies and privatized services, like prison food, printing operations and the state’s toll road — the last reaping $3.8 billion. But Mr. Daniels has made some notable missteps, as well, as when he first handed out and then revoked a contract worth more than $1 billion to determine eligibility for public assistance.

“The idea that we’re an island of prosperity makes for a great image, but I would argue that this is the worst shape the state has been in since the Great Depression,” said Representative B. Patrick Bauer, the Democratic leader in Indiana’s House, which is now controlled, as is the Senate, by Republicans. “We’ve seen drastic cuts to education, to social services, to public employees. We face problems we’re not admitting.”

JV knows exactly what he is talking a bout and Hoosiers will keep staying Hoosiers rolling on the floor laughing

I told u before guys... long a go... Indina guys coming to California behaving more than they are entitled to... getting their butts kicked major time yay

Yeah... those freak damn Bishney,s made sure creating huge bills back then and pushed those bills being paid way after they had taken their bloody claws of power in America... This is a freaking universal method of the right winged newcons of today and is done every where where right winged are on charge. They make sure accounts are empty with a big minus and then leaving the Hell out and then Dems and so on have to stand for responsibility and working hard recreating the economy. America and Europe as well should really learn from this thing and thinking more next time when elections are there. doh

Am sorry Dude. Today's unemployment rate in the US is 9.1%...that after 3 years of TARPs, Stimulus and Trillions being spent by the
Obama administration to save the economy.

The words 'double dip' recession have reappeared in the business circles of the country. Major US firms still struggle in the global marketplace.

In only a few month of office, Gov Scott of Florida drop the states unemployment by 2 points. By making a business friendly environment. The Obama administraion started its term off....scaring American and foreign business with the threat of regulations, with halting the Gulf offshore drilling, killing the NASA man launched systems, changing 1/6th of the economy with Obamcare...and other negative business decisions.

This is Obama's fault.

When GOP is able of making a kind of "Hero" out of one of the most lousy american presidents EVER and that is Ronald Reagan... the same GOP is able of almost any possible scenarios because they use a lot of money shifting history and changing it so it suits their kind of agenda.

GOP even wants to change the american constitution and making it,s own version of it,and will do so if god forbidden getting a chance.

This is the power of mass propoganda and the power of money and GOP got a lot of it from oil and war and health care industry and from it,s anti american supporters in oil rich countries like Saudi Arabia and then the challenge gainst this mighty propoganda machine is rather huge and not easy to furfil unless America generally becoming more interested in shaping their country in a better direction and showing more interest in what the Heck is going on or have been going on in the United States. dunno

You start out w/unemployment and end up with 10 years from now.

On behalf of dude, I'm going to contact CS and ask them to shut down CS for 3 days when Chavez dies.

I know Dude will be attending the funeral.

- Senior allies of Venezuela's socialist President Hugo Chavez have dismissed reports he is sicker than the government has admitted, telling his enemies to "stop dreaming" of his death. The normally verbose leader has not been seen in public since a June 10 operation in Cuba to remove a pelvic swelling. His long absence has prompted widespread speculation he may be seriously ill, possibly being treated for prostate cancer.

His government insists Chavez is fine but says he won't return to Venezuela until he is ready. And it has accused his opponents of "rubbing their hands together" in glee.

"President Chavez is recovering well from his surgery. His enemies should stop dreaming and his friends should stop worrying," Vice Foreign Minister Temir Porras said on the social networking site Twitter late on Saturday.

"The only thing that has metastasized is the cancer of the Miami Herald and the rest of the right-wing press."

Porras was referring to a report in the Nuevo Herald, the Miami Herald's Spanish-language sister paper, on Saturday that cited unnamed U.S. intelligence officials as saying Chavez was in "critical condition" at hospital in Havana.

A senior U.S. official cast doubt on that report, telling Reuters that Washington was hearing lots of speculation about Chavez's health but had no firm intelligence.

"The fact is, we just don't know," the official said.

Going to the birds:
The California High Speed Rail Authority is considering a new route for its cross-state system that will literally split farms in two, to avoid a bird sanctuary.

Mike Monteiro, owner of the Lakeside Dairy in Hanford, which is just about three miles down the road from the sanctuary, said he learned of the plan only through a concerned neighbor who warned that draft rail routes would split his land apart.

“It’s amazing to me that they’ve moved this rail across this farmland without any input from me or any of my neighbors on the impact that it’s going to have on my dairy,” said Monteiro, who owns 7,000 cattle on his thousand-acre farm. He’s certain that his business will be dramatically affected.

“The fact that I have three dairy operations that are going to be half on one side and half on the other (of the tracks), the transfer here on a daily basis is just going to be absolutely miserable for us,” he said.

Earlier projected maps showed two different alignments going through the Tulare Lake Bed, a wetlands-like region that attracts 200 species of birds, including waterfowl, gulls and shorebirds. Parts of the 1,300-acre region, maintained by the Kaweah Delta Water Conservation District (KDWCD), Corcoran Irrigation District and Central Valley Flood Protection Board provide a habitat for the birds and are recommended for protection by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services. When the conservation district heard about the proposed route, it informed the rail authority that such a move would significantly affect the area used by thousands of birds.

“If you’re interrupting that site, you’re impacting that particular species at stake,” said Sopac Mulholland, executive director of Sequoia Riverlands Trust, a conservation group that works in the region.

But farmers say they weren’t offered an opportunity to suggest a new rail route if their homes were affected.

“You’re saying that the species that are protected in that preserve are more important than us? And our property line can’t be sidestepped for us, but can for certain species that are deemed worthy but we're not?” said Anne Gaspar, another Hanford resident whose property is in the path of the railway.

The rail authority says they have a thorough environmental review process in which they must follow strict state and federal requirements.

“Over the last two years the authority has worked with communities in the Central Valley to gather feedback on the alternatives for the route, potential station locations and track design options,” Rachel Wall, the rail authority's press secretary, said in a written statement.

The rail authority will release the draft Environmental Impact Report and Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed route at the end of July. “This document will identify the potential impacts of each alternatives as well as proposed measures to mitigate those impacts,” Wall said.

Once the report is out, the Kings County residents, which include those in Hanford, will be given a 45-day public comment period. The several thousand-page report will outline the project level details and hopefully will bring answers to the concerned residents.

“We need to be informed because this is going to displace, not even our homes, but our business, how we make a living, everything. And it would be very good if they come out talk to us answer the questions, and we would explain our situation here,” Gaspar said.

It is estimated that it will cost $45 billion to connect San Francisco to San Diego by high-speed rail. State and federal taxpayers will be footing most of the bill. Advocates of the high-speed rail argue that it will create thousands of jobs and will make California businesses more successful, thereby stimulating the economy.

Opps......the jury just convicted former DEM Governor Blagovich of trying to sell Obama Senate seat. That charge and the others on corruption charges....netted Blago.....300 years.

For the last 3 years, he has pleaded his innocency and escaped the first trial on with a conviction on only one charge. So on the retry....this verdict of 300 years has to quiet the ex Governor some.

Just maybe....prior to sentencing....the ex Governor might wish to share more information with the Federal prosecutor on the inner working of his IL Government to get some sentence reduction. That might just include some VERY interesting new stories on IL politicians.

The Russians have now fingered him to be the reason Anna Chapman and her chorts were compromised. So what do you do with a spymaster gone bad?

Put him on trial and convict him of betraying state secrets. Or seek look for him on a beach on a Greece Island. He was last seen headed that way.

But this is message to other Russian spymasters and spies. That motherland Russia does not like her spies being compromised. No tell the spyee that you are part of a ring spying on them.

So this is right out of the Cold War.....it really means that mother Russia has more spies out there. Ah well what did one expect?

Iran is test firing various short, mid and long range missile. But this test has a new twist to it. Some of the long range missiles are being fired from underground silos.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm..................I know, I know......Iran has a right to defend itself. From what?

Isreal is a 1000 miles away. Has no Navy for a invasion. Now the US wisthdraws on both sides of this Islamic demogodic (:-)) I just made a new word) country. So of course Iran needs to put a few up for the benefit of the local neighbors.

But returning to harden silo missile launches.....yeah right....Iran is not working nuclear tipped missiles.....yeah right.

With the range to reach most of Europe. And now hardened to make any pre strike air assault even tougher. Just maybe we will soon see Europe governments buying American or Isreali anti missile systems. Lockheed stock anyone?

Let us finish with Obama's Libyan problem. Qdaffi.

Qdaffi, sons and his his head intelligence were all charged with
war crimes in the Hague. Dang......could we have tried this when Lockerbie happened? Saved the world 25 years of trouble and geo political games?

Ah no that was asking to much of the world body. And that was only Americans and Britians that were killed. But Qdaffi and Sons start to do a job on those poor Libyans....he is stepping on European liberal toes that control the international courts.

Suddenly in a mere 60 days, Col. Qdaffi is a war criminal. And not a wanted Terrorist. So it all depends on your victim.

Qdaffi now has NATO and the Hague after him. A sure sign that he has another 10-15 years of freedom coming. Remember Milosovic and crew from Serbia, yes?

Anyways for the White House and President Obama, this has to be a confirmation indictment, that their decision to go after Qdaffi was right. Heck if it came from a American court, it would be ignored. Remember Obama was trading with Qdaffi before the shooting began.

In the geo political mis mash of the day...I say good luck to those European investigators for the Hague. The beer is warm, the sand is hot, and the water is bad were you are going to do your Hague investigations on Qdaffi.

I got one more..................grin

New report out today on how many Chinese government and banking officials have stolen from the Communist country treasury. Think that things are bad in the US? Wait till you read this.

Since 1990.....some 120b has been lifted from the red Communist country. They ain't capitolist, they are thieves. Some 18,000....yes a small city in the US is now wanted in China for
theft of government finances and moneys.

We ain't even talking about the 495b in US T-Bills that went bad and had the entire Chinese National Bank Director and his entire staff on the lamb. That is not included here.

But again the Chinese National Bank Director and his staff have suddenly disappeared. Yikes! This is getting habit forming. They get enough in the bank to open a teller window and drive thru line and they skip town with the money.

You know with a country of 1b people....it does need some money. Leaving it only with small pocket change....like quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies....does make for pressing times.

But since we have this heavy turn over with the Chinese government and its banking officers....leads one to ask.....why is the US government dealing with them? If they are so unstable to have 18,000 on the lamb for corruption and theft....why is the US dealing with them?

Every time we send them a check on the BOP payment, you better make photocopies. Because these boys are using every trick known to put some cash in their piggie banks.

And why are worried about value of the Yuan? Heck they will steal it before the currency revalues. I say....let em have all the Yuan they want. Just don't make it American green backs.

With the UN report out on China that it was abetting Iran and NKorean missile technology transfers. I just bet that the China government did not use the Chinese National Bank to hold the accounts of these transfers. It has lost 120b and 495b in the last 20 years. Losing Chinese missile checks is a sure way to get the UN involved much earlier.

Anyways...... teddybear....to the Chinese investigators that are presently chasing 18,000 bank officials, party leaders, and government officers around the globe. May the beer be warm, the sands hot and the water bad. grin rolling on the floor laughing
