Merriweather: Ouch Rizlared... that was well aimed... and a bit below the belt..
I agree. It was a sharp shot.

Maybe Rizzy here should go to some of those Far Right political Rallies in Eastern Europe and explain that to the virulent anti-Semetic crowd (him being a Jew). Lets see how that works out for him.

I got a lot done this weekend, including scoring a right abcess on my gums.. and now I look like a gargoyle... not a good look, but to not focus on what was happening inside my face, I certainly got to it.. and did a lot of things that needed doing.. sigh

Re your Tescos... I cannot see that Tesco would refuse anyone entry... as far as I can tell, your Tesco is like our Coles and Woolies... and its not manned with security... just a bunch of kids serving on the checkouts...

I don't know... unless perhaps the OP lives somewhere that there isn't a Tesco and uses smaller proprietor owned stores..

Just stabbing in the dark here..

Ouch! that has to have hurt sad flower

That's exactly how Tesco operates. I honestly don't see how she can't do her shopping confused unless there's been an issue previously

I am sure the op will come back and reply... and then we will have our answers..

but if it was an issue previously... yes , that would make sense..

Our Coles and Woolies have a policy of not allowing people back into the store if they have stolen.. and been caught... although, as time goes by, and staff changes, that would be too hard to uphold.

Well, I guess respectfully, I would not push the op to have to reveal whatever is her private stuff..

but she might do it of her own accord... however, for me... I don't like to make people feel uncomfortable..

I must say tho... I have learnt heaps from the inception of this thread... it has been interesting because we have nothing like this at all...

don't think we don't have similar tho... we do... just not traveller people... as you know them.. wave

RoseaBellBlues: im only giving people the history and the facts on what happen 100s off years go and still is happening to date. travelers are the highest to be discriminated by in Ireland. that's a TACT!! so love before you go tell people im lying look the history and the facts and you will see who is lying!!

I presume you mean 'fact', not "tact"?

You're going to have to provide a valid and reliable source for that. Not some traveller study, but a unbiased one, preferably linked from a news story.
You can't claim something as fact, just by writing "fact" at the end of it. Especially when you quickly dismissed my theory regarding the numbers of travellers in prison. Which was actually a logical explanation, just that you can't see it.

According to a ESRI Research Programme on Equality and Discrimination study, it was listed as young black people were the highest discriminated people.

RoseaBellBlues: green belt land my eye !! try any other one !!
The side was a scrap yard and they was already hard ground there which the council put there them self's. There was never any green trees or grass there before travelers came to live on the land.
The man that sold dale farm to the travelers had build
a house on the land him self..............don't believe me on any off this?? OK then here look at this link and you will see the true story!!

The site that was given permission is a legal one. Oak Farm. That has 34 pitches, as mentioned before, and that is where he built the house.

Basildon council regularly brought waste tarmac and rubble from roadworks and dumped it on Dale Farm for a period of 10 years until the 1990s. That doesn't mean they laid down anything. They were using the area as it was intended. A dumping ground.

Dale Farm was NEVER given planning permission for anyone to live on, due to it having being a scrapyard. The land would have to be cleared out and whatever it is they do to make industrial land safe to live on. Retrospective planning permission was sought, and it was declined as the site was declared illegal. Yet, people still turned up, knowing that they may get a place to stay as they assumed the council wouldn't evict so many at once.
Boy, were they wrong.

RoseaBellBlues: also there is gay men and women with the travelers community but they have to hide it, as it is not wanted in the community.

Laughing at the hypocrisy of travellers.

My eyes are wide open. Are yours?

I did look Online, hence where I came up with the study I mentioned. You claimed that travellers are the HIGHEST discriminated against. I searched that out, and although there is a high discrimination rate, it's not the HIGHEST.

So, please post your source.

Oh, I heard back from 4 of the 12 police forces I mailed. I will have their info within 30 days.

RoseaBellBlues: look here i am living in a house and im working but i sill cant get into pubs or clubs.lord i cant even do my weekly shopping......please tell me how is that my choice??

Your profile clearly states you're not working.

You can't blame the pub landlords or shop owners. You can only blame TRAVELLERS. The few have created the problem that the masses have to suffer for. Maybe try and see if you can show the shopkeepers and the like, that not all travellers will steal or get too drunk and fight anyone that looks at them wrong.

It's in the same way that the local newsagents has a sign in the door stating that schoolchildren are not allowed in without an adult. Do the rest of the schoolchildren moan about being bunched in with a few thieves? No, they go and either get their sweets elsewhere, or ask someone to go in for them.

As you may know Ireland has very little money and jobs left there for i shop locally. I know if i shop in Tesco it will save me money but the locally farmers and shops are losing too much money because of theses big business are taken over and taken the money out off the county and leaving the county poor.
if you look up my town Dundalk co.louth, you will see all the big business has taken the town over and all the shops on the highs streets are having to close and living the Irish people with out off jobs.
i will NOT shop in Pennies or NIKE for my clothes as they are knowing for child labor, sweat factory and son on.
I will only shop with locally and small business but im getting followed around the store but even tho im trying to help them they still don't understand.

Voice, behaviour. And they probably know her. I guessed correctly a traveller on here from their voice and even before that I had a hint from the appearance. It's hard to pin it down in words but the original stock of traveller that broke away from the population carried with them a small sample of features. Something about the cheekbones, and eyes. Also Irish traveller women have generous chest sizes aswell. I've never seen a flat chested Pavee woman. lol

Hi Rose, before your threads about Travelers, I had never heard about them before. The posts from you as well as others have made it interesting and informative to follow the thread.I am not going to voice an opinion about this topic, but wouldn't it be nice if people could just get along and learn to live beside each other as neighbors. Being a good neighbor does not necessarily mean you have to be friends. Just respect from both sides of the fence. JMOwave
