peachmelba: .. I don't know why there is such panic to buy commodities just days before Xmas when the Xmas produce is displayed beside.isles with Pumpkins at Halloween,Weary downtrodden mothers pushing prams laden with bags with babies on their backs,.
Loan sharks on the prowl,,,,kids even calling to the door now weeks before Xmas holding out a tin and asking which Xmas carol we would like to hear,
Pick pockets on the loose,,,homes at more risk of theft,,drunken arguments and fights,
Work parties with the sleasey boss.,,,loads of unwanted pressie s bought and received,
Stress and arguments and electric shocks from faulty lights,
Fakes smiles with the inlaws .
Houses lit up like Blackpool promenade,
Lazy husbands and sons and other male species lying on sofas ,,like baby chicks waiting to be fed with their mouths open,
To tell the truth I've beaten the crowds and bought my presents already(mostly). I've even bought a stocking for the first time ever. My Dad thinks I've had a stroke.
Still, not looking forward to the crowds of drunks and everybody who was abused as a child and that's why they make such a tit of themselves at Christmas. In fact everything you've listed is a good reason to be cynical. Merry Christmas

Oh forgot to mention my son here this Xmas as he was away in oz for 3 Xmas previous so just to have family around ,enjoy a nice dinner ,pull a cracker and sit down like members in the comedy serious the royal family ,
Haha,
We don't have to let the pressure of Xmas get to us if we don't want to,
Ok, there are crowds and queues and drunken postmen.
But there is also a lovely feeling about.
I love wandering down town when it has all its lights on.
Browsing the stalls of the Christmas Market.
Sipping on a mulled wine or a hot chocolate
All the while listening to the carol singers on the streets giving it all, and collecting for local charities. And people definitely give more generously at Christmas...because of the Spirit of Christmas
mollybaby: I personally like the Spirit of Christmas.

It's good that people come together and express love and good cheer and all. But anyone who has done the research knows that Christmas is not what we have been lead to believe and the commercialization really offends me. It's pretty sick.
sirLarryIII: Put yourself in the almighty's shoes and give a fair answer
Well for a none Christian like me Christmas ìs like any other normal day
I save my money for more important things in life
I really don't see myself celebrating some Jewish dude's birthday who was born 2000 years ago whilst I don't celebrate my great grandfather's who should be 200 years or less
