I notice you have biased the question to what you want to know about someone you know or a particular story.
IMO People who think NEVER cannot vote therefore, the poll is both undemocratic and invalid.
My opinion on the actual subject and in context (Male and Female)is :
If a man and woman above the legal age of consent decide they wish to go out together in public and have an intimate relationship and marry or live together nobody else has any right to either question the decisions or object to either the morality or their legal rights.
WittyandWise: Everyone to their own thing, if they are happy so be it
Though I've been there done that with an older ex and would not have such a large age gap again
Yup, I can't see it working out myself. For me, I dated a bloke a fair bit older for a while and we found each other's friends seriously boring. Same thing, different direction.
Elegsabiff: Back in the 80s, though, she was probably late 30s, maybe mid 40s? Its an age where women look pretty ageless. Did you ever get comments / odd looks, did they bother you if you did?
sorry not 80s but 90s/I was 35, she was 56/yes they looked at us like something were wrong?/comments from her 2 songs/they didn't want me around/and they were married/and not living with her

No question. Nobody else's business. However, I think she is using the age thing as the polite way to avoid a relationship she doesn't really want. There IS some validity to not want to look like a joke in public. Can't live a full and normal life never going out together.
Who cares, what others think?? 10 years UP or Down is not much defference,as long they feel happy.
Elegsabiff: When a guy is not only over 10 years younger, but looks 10 years younger than he really is, insists he is seriously keen on a woman he knows well in real life, and the woman is saying NO purely on the basis of what people will think of them as a couple ... is she right or wrong?

Oh yes mums are supposed to please not embarrass their kids! Even (especially?) their grown-up married kids ...

""The objection is not about the morality or their legal rights"" Their objection is about the bublic gossiping, their age difference.-
Ccincy: My mothers older sister and her sisters husband were 14 and 15 when they got together.Obviously no age difference. My mother was 17 and my father was 27 when they got married.
During that era it wasn't a personal choice/preference as like today.
Children were married off back then because times were tough and there were so many children being born.
my dad was 5 years younger than mom/of course not too much

Never been as many babies born as between 1946 and 1964 - maybe we're all spoiled for choice and people don't take the first decent partner they can find because there's so many others out there?
When I was 24 I had a boyfriend 14 years older than me... good while it lasted. Now 20 years on I'm not sure I could still see myself going for the same kind of age gap... either up or down! Although maybe down would work... possibly cougar tendencies appearing lol!!

Hiya Viv, I find someone being in a different stage of life uninteresting.
I was with someone a good bit younger but a dad and fairly mature and it wasn't really noticeable lookswise.
The age difference wasn't the problem and I wouldn't have given a hoot anyway, but there were differences in our way of life and that simply made it impossible for me to connect with him.
For me it would depend of what they want - to share their life or just having some fun.

You ARE cougar age, work it baby, work it! Damn I would make so much more of my naughty forties if I had them back!
Brannigan70: I'm all for a bit of lighthearted with a lady whose age I'm comfortable (up to 10yrs either way) if that's what she's offering , then go with the flow from there .
And yes I think some women do
Brannigan, you broth of a boy, where are your lovely legs? Best legs in Ireland - or on CS, more likely. I am asking purely as a spectator as I am well out of your age bracket.
