Willow3939: I'm enjoying all the answers. There are many qualities that add up to the total of what makes a man. It is interesting to see what quality stands out above the others, is subjective, according to each person.
truheart1941: hi..thats very true....I loved my mother...still do...never a cross word...in 70 years....bless her.....miss you mum.... I joke not.
Bless ur heart....Tru... Some pple don't get to have the luck of a parents warm heart or touch in their lives..and I'm always jealous of those who do..or did..
pat8lanips: It depends on the man. A builder will generally use a tape measure. An architect would use a ruler. An engineer uses a set of calipers and so forth.

Well I've got 12 inches, but I don't use it as a rule
I voted physical bad strength because as a man you need that aspect to stand for every situation that sorrounds you. Also courage would be correct because in everything whether in single or marriage life you need courage.
I want a comforter
Willow3939: Now, it can be argued that all three of these characteristics work together in defining a good man. But, if you had to chose one characteristic that defined the true measure of a man, what would it be?
There is no right or wrong answer. This poll is not meant to become a divisive debate where people square off and take sides. Your decisions will be based on your personal perceptions, with deciding factors such as gender, culture or age, to name a few.
Again, this is not an argument for or against any of the three choices, you are just stating your personal preference. You do not have to defend your personal preference or debate it. The choices are further broken down by gender, so make your choice accordingly. The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
when a woman pulls the sheets over a mans face..and gives him a dutch oven...then pulls them back....to see him still smiling....that takes guts......that the measure of a man.........
