A host of communication choices, which do you go to most often?... Messenger is my weapon of choice, while phone numbers are always changing, powered down, blocking, ignored, we appear to have an easier relationship with internet enabled communication services... Whadda ya think?...

Fair play to you BW, there's nothing beats a good old fashioned letter, and the anticipation that it brings... I'll confide, I still have the letters in the loft from that one true love of twenty five years ago... Probably still smell of her perfume...

I'm not a text person at all unless I'm at work or out. I prefer for a guy to call me or vice versa. Having conversations through text is not my thing. Its just laziness. If I'm texting friends to make plans or if they are based outside the country then its another matter, but even with them I still call them once in a while.
I like to hear the voice of the person I am talking to... Unfortunately texting is the easiest way for many, even if it actually isn't... I got used to it tho...but hate it when clients text instead of call...

One2note: Most of the people I've had long term relationships with, I was already acquainted with , either by mutual friends , sociallly, or through work . So I guess, any 1-1 meeting wouldn't have any real significance as far as getting to know them was concerned.
Hmmm.....I would have thought the opposite.
A 1:1 meeting or date if you prefer, when you take them away from others, would be the best situation to get to know them better....

I join the old-fashioned club without any problem: I like writing letters and enjoying the "artistic design" of the letters, and the confection of the words by the ideas simultaneously during the process/action. I usually consider this approach when is possible a common agreement, this is the most "special" way. There is a motto in Portuguese (but I do not know the true origin, if anyone knows better, please correct me!) that says: "a letter written to a friend is a lively handshake" (something in this perspective). I take it seriously.
However, for practicality and/or the impossibility of the agreement in the "special condition", I undoubtedly opt for the telephone (call), followed by the e-mails. Nothing is more direct and clear (sometimes beautiful) than the voice spoken and heard in this second case, and for long developments of any subject in the third case, before the daily life, which is customarily imposed (for ex.: sending an e-mail in adverse or alternative time of day) .
Anyway, there are no impediments that all options can be made, which would be very, very interesting...
