germanspitz: My heart goes out to the American people taralyn. November 3rd 2020 will definitely go down in history as one of the most decisive days ever.
I'm reminded of the famous words from poet John Lydgate, later adapted by President Lincoln – and appearing in various permutations: “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”.
To all Americans or just the North Americans? Those Americans in South America are no doubt dancing in the streets
loulou77: Waiting for such good news...Biden will prevail...nail biting stuff...
Hi loulou
Do you know what I find so offensive in all of this debacle is a man who is so desperate to stay in office that he attempts to denigrate the people's vote by declaring them fraudulent .
That's a sure sign of a control freak losing his grip especially in a Republican State such as Georgia.
My personal take on this is that this election is not about Republicans or Democrats it's about Donald Trump and if they lose he will have been the reason.

Yes Trump was never Republican...he is truly a brand of his own party...Biden can work both sides...a definite benefit...Biden is a cross between the old Republican ways and Democrats...a needed fix for the US...
Donald Trump has made it all about Donald Trump and the only reason why many people support such a poor candidate as Biden is because it's all about making it not about Donald Trump.
There's no way I'd be pleased at Biden winning if it weren't for Donald Trump leaving the stage.
Now, if Bernie Sanders, or Pete Buttigieg was the Democratic candidate, I'd be really looking forward to their presidency.
But hey, it's likely to be a crap term trying to make a start on mopping up the mess, so it's probably a good idea not to waste a good candidate on it.
Pete Buttigieg is young and has plenty of time left to make America a progressive country that can be a genuine and positive example to the world.
Cranky_Geezer: I have a post election prediction. Melania will be filing for divorce sometime in 2021.
Melania won't file for divorce, although she probably (definitely) wants to. She doesn't have the smarts to create her own persona independently. If she had any real intelligence, she could strike out on her own, and carve out a niche for herself post her White House life. But she doesn't...she has been an utter failure as a presidential partner and is basically nothing without her connection with Donald Trump. She will sink with the same ship, thankfully so.
