For me, no. I rarely ever drink, never been drunk and frankly I am okay if you want a drink or two, I don't want to be around someone drunk. My boyfriend drinks and gets drunk around friends, but not me as he respects how *I* feel.

I am not a frequent drinker, but I drink socially and that's once in a blue moon. If I am in a relationship with someone who doesn't drink, it wouldn't bother me. But it would be nice if they would come out with me once and a while to a club even if they do not drink. You don't always have to drink to have a good time at a club.yay

Not a turn off. I'd prefer someone who only drinks "socially"-meaning infrequently.

I've tried to go out with a non drinker.....
I just found myself holding back for some reason.
I love my booze, it is something I enjoy but I know that I act a lil silly when I'm tipsy and I was constantly aware of his sobriety.
I'm not saying that I'm proud of it..... But I found it hard to let my hair down is all.

HotrodLarrys: Rick , I stopped drinking 5 yrs ago next month ! I Lived in New Orleans , La. for 20 yrs , I Learned to drink , and i learned it well !!!!!!!!!!! I had some good times , but the bad out weighed them 100 to 1 , several serious auto accidents , spent some nights on cement beds , lined with steel bars, Lawyers, judges , prosicuting attys. Dept of rev, I liked it so well that i had to quit all togather, I would stop for 1 or 2 , and every time it WAS 1or2 (in the morning) My only rational choice was to JUST QUIT! So i did !!! AND PROUD OF IT!!!!!!!!!! Now i feel that people think i a redneck because i go out dance , play pool , but DONT DRINK, I feel as tho most of the world has disgraced me , many dont know why i quit , BUT I DO , Now i dont want a drunk woman , or even the smell of it , I rebuke it , to keep my sanity! , I have Changed my life for the way better!!!!!!!!!! This is the best forum i have read, PERIOD , If any Ladies feel the same and serious about LTR , It would be encouragement for me to hear from you! I guess i feel abandoned! Good as gold , wiser than most , but still abandoned , GOOD POST RICK!! God Bless this post!

I would rather date someone who doesn't drink--although I see nothing wrong with a person who socially drinks but not looking for a bar fly....

I am not opposed to drinking per se, but i will never share my life with someone who requires alcohol to 'loosen up.' The person I am with does not need to become two distinct entities for me as I am a one-woman man. I do not drink and will not so if that is an issue then so be it. I will not change and I do not expect anyone else to. Plenty of my friends are casual drinkers (or more), neither of us have any issues with the other because we do not impose our choices upon each other.

I actually prefer to date someone who doesn't drink. However, one or two every once in awhile is OK. Personally, I've had enough of the boozing days. Does that mean I'm old? HAHA, don't answer that!!

I learned some time ago what to much green beer can do to you. driving drunk at 1 a.m., and closing your eyes for second. Not a good thing. I cam out of it with minimum damage to my vehicle and nothing on me besides staying awake for the next five miles home.
A beer now and then O.K. not when I am driving.doh

Dont mind someone who takes a drink within reason as I do within reason....although there is no reasoning with me sometimes...no alcoholics allowed....no smokers allowed in my life.....sorry guys that's just the way it is.....grin

i just think that being with somebody who likes what you like is nice. if a drinker and a non-drinker are together then it goes from "it's ok, but i won't drink" to "ok well don't drink it around me" to "you're not here when i want to go out" to "you damn drunk, you need to quit drinking!" things that we don't really think are a big deal become really annoying when we spend a lot of time with a person. like a guy who sent me a message asking if i was entirasted in him. .........? i don't want to be with an alcoholic, prefer somebody who has the ability to drink, and definately no one with an IQ under 80. you know they used to fix people for that? anyways, i just think that things are nicer when people have more in common :)

Women who find that a turn off, have lost or have never been taught good values.

(oops forgot this) just like how i've been clean and sober (used to be bad into pot) for 6 years this july. i wouldn't be with somebody who smoked pot. that would not be good! it's like going on a diet and seeing the chocolate bar taste tester at his work.

I wouldn't say a "turn off" as such. Don't get me wrong, I don't want a real boozer but I would prefer someone who could enjoy a nice glass of wine, a Chateau de la Salle or La Cour Pavilion, for example.

No 'licking lips' emoticon, this will have to do ----> wine
