breezee: Yeah.
I can see that.

funnily enough, so can I.

I think I have had my fill of all this for now.

I was simply making a case for when threads seem to be getting out of hand, not, as has been insinuated that we all become cruelly abusive of anybody - I did in fact say a few points back that such actions could be open to this but didnt think that would happen because of the calibre of most people on the site.

Think what you will, I am just too busy today.

im not taking anything personally
i have my opinions and principles
that dont waiver
regardless of the players

it s fact that my opinions are personal
to me
but the issue at hand has been a not well cloaked mention
of a particular member and i stand by every post i have made here

i dont know that you intended it to be that
but f some it has been understood as such

you make my point
by mentioning people having responsibility for their own responses

and BEB you better believe it
people need to get a better understanding of what hearsay is
and if you find anything inaccurate in my post as to
that arc of personality growth/change with that poster
then you may feel free to say or do whatever you like about it

what some forget is that some personalities, not necessarily that poster, but many people have a role they play in life
and it is present online too-because wherever u go-there you are

some people draw these illustrations of personalities as online characters-they all find their fit-like in the puzzle of the world

care needers /caregivers
protectors
depressives
cheerers
knights
rabble rousers
dont give a dang
im always funny cuz im afraid to commit and be disagreed with
etc etc etc etc

and puzzlers gravitate toward their associates
just like in r/l
and just like in r/l some are manipulating by the role
and some are really in it
we cant tell sometimes in r/l so why do ppl jump to defend in here?
well sometimes they are playing out there role
its not wrong
it just is

but will be quick to sit on my head when you see an opportunity

mmmm-isnt that what you were just complaining about?
that behavior right there?

please report me-or maybe in this case-yourselfrolling on the floor laughing

this is the hypocrisy that i am laffing about
humans
cant live with em
cant kill em

people take online waaay too seriously
when they want to
and then minimize when they choose
some people might not like me-but they know ill be consistent
and that, if nothing else, allows me some self respect

I believe that Trish ..hug

Thanks for the welcome. Trish i have known you since i joined this place and have liked you the same. Its been a roller coaster ride for me here as it has been for many others.

I just realised when i joined being from a different culture i kept quiet for a while to mingle, understand and get to know people so that i dont offend anyone when i say something .. .. As i got comfortable being me was easier..not that i got wisdom or was bestowed here with exhuberant vernacular charm. Well .. i have decided to continue being myself maybe more often now ...

silence can be misconstrued quite often I have seen.

Great thread Trish !!! Ignore it is i feel !!! But being human we do lose our minds at times and get in to the grind of being involved.

I have alot to add her personality and growth, but I wont put it on deaf ears. If for some reason you think she grew because of CS, you have her all wrong. I wont go to who started the whole ordeal, cuz most everyone knows and I wont bring it up again. I have no desire to argue with you on this matter. I pride myself in being a nice person and constantly seeing people, things, and issues on a positive light. Not saying I can't be nasty person, cuz I could be..but yet see no reason to do so. I am much happier and a better person for finding the good in people then to look for the worst in all things.cheers

pardon me for sounding coy,
but HOLY S***,
and boy oh boy,
how many of the latest posters can say
they read the posts and the topic line
before they started typing away.

The Subject is "how to deal with abusive posters"
not "the rules of CS" or "free site deal with it" or
too many emoticons etc. but.....
"how to deal with abusive poster's"

Now for those of you across sea's from me
and even to those who may live right next door
I apologize if your not reading me right,
for I simply want to say something I learned long ago.

Those NEEDING or DESIRING attention
will sometimes say anything to get it
not realizing that they are being hurtful in the process
so the best thing you can do is
1. on-line or in person politely ignore and see if they disappear
2. if that doesn't work be a little more firm.
3. if your able to "read" the person sometimes oh yes, sometimes
kindness and politeness makes the unruly ruly? (pardon the spelling and grammer but you get the drift.
Cheers and happy Valentines all

Well... what is perceived as "abusive" can be subjective, yeah? We all have different boundaries of acceptability, what's appropriate, etc. There are varying degrees of considering ourselves "easy-going", "laid back", etc.

Having said that, there have been some threads/posts that, to most of us, would be deemed totally offensive.

In that case, I have no qualms about reporting someone. I think the key is not to feed the ego, nor encourage the poster. The best thing is to just not post where you feel you cannot give credence to what is tantamount to offensive/obnoxious behaviour, nor complete inane drivel.

Good thread, Trish!! thumbs up
