Years ago I when asked what I did for a living - I told them I was a Waste water engineer .....when actually I was a sewer plant operator ..........
If they persisted to ask what I actually did -I told them I made sure turds didn't get stuck in a screen ......and that usually ended their inquisitions .......

On some level, we're all judged because of our jobs. It's a fact of life. get used to it. If you are a trash collector, people will get a bit sniffy with you. if you are a lawyer, people will try tripping you at the top of the stairs. If you are a fund manager for a big deal bank, most people will want to slip a knife between your ribs.

Lots of people stock shelves. There must be literally 1000 shops where I live and the only reason the shops have stuff on the shelves is because someone there puts the stuff on shelves. You are not alone. I used to make 3.35 an hour in the 80s. Man, that SUCKED. Then, they would give me a 5 cent raise and act like they were doing me a huge favor.
