The farm wasn't our main source of income. Daddy just bought it because he wanted a farm. My mother is in no shape to keep up with the daily operation of it, so of course, she uses hired help to manage it and maintain it. Alot of the food gets donated, but I do understand that there were concerts to aid farmers who were having a tough time of it because their farm was their very existence.
It was always nice to have fresh produce, canned fruits and frozen veges in the freezers for winter. Farm life can be hard but very rewarding.

To tell a little of my own history..... I grew up in the countryside...Was after the World war II.... very hard time her in Europe..... we lived for some years from what the little land could produse,,, had no electicity.... a water pump and a water well... but we had a good life....

We just had a on TV court case here. It was over a car and one woman not paying the other for this ...clunker. Anyways thay set the deal up in food stamps.
The buy reneged on paying the seller the agreed value of the car in food stamps.
The judge...Judge Alex..if I remember right.....goes
when he hears the deal is being done in food stamps. Says...do you know that food stamps are only to be used for food and other such necessities?The buyer says...."Oh Yes, I know that. But I consider the car a necessity." Though she did not say....she needed the car as a necessity to get the food from the grocery store.
So the Judge is now left with a case of both parties having dirty hands.
For agreeing to a deal using food stamps, instead of cash. So he tosses the case out.
Food stamps are one of the most abused entitlements in our country.

Yesterday, NKorea fired artillery into the disputed Island between the two countries. 2 South Koreans were killed. Also more concerning and bigger immediate issue for the Obama administration....is that Skorea requested battlefield nuclear weapons.
These are small yield nuc usually on rockets. But would have a range to cover most of Korea. They were designed and planned to destroyed mass armies. But they can be used on any target in theory.
So the Obama administration has a heating shooting war in Korea...and his principle ally is requesting nuclear devices from him. This is when the pay grade joke does not cut it. It is within his power and authority, to give SKorea the nuclear weapons.
If it were me...and I am very glad it is not. I wold look a tthe real satellite imagery of NKorea along the DMZ or inside NKorea.....to see if any NKorean armies are massing. If they are, then SKorea get the nucs.
Soul, SKorea is about 30 miles from the DMZ. A break thru of a Nkorea army at the nearest DMZ point....and they would driving tanks inside Soul within a 1 hours time.
President Obama does not have much time....to make the call....and I pray he gets it right.

yes they are abused they use to be exchanged for 50 cents on the dollar ,the drug dealers would take them for drugs then sellthem for 75 cents on dollar or use them for there self most states went to a card system they still trade but most drug dealer wont take them because it requires them to go to the store with the customer since ID is required .no system is perfect .but still it burns me up when good people are going without .The buy reneged on paying the seller the agreed value of the car in food stamps.

What made the God blessed Western World go down..... and really need recovering ..... was because the money men ruled.... let the prices for property raise and raise, took loanes in the banks - but there was no credit for those loanes... The Value was overestimated... due to no regulations......
