The article does not state infection rates. The article never stated that Sweden didn't care for it's citizens. The article doesn't pick on Sweden. It just states the data for death rates.
First of all, is your point, that we shouldn't care about people in nursing homes ? By the way, the work force DOES influence their getting the virus.
Secondly, stick with one comparison, deaths rates, or infection rates. You are comparing apples to watermelons. The lockdowns affect the infection rate. The medical care, age of patient and other health issues affect the survival rate.
Jac - We have already discussed this. However, I'll draw the line as this being the final time I'll permit this discussion on one of my blogs and I'll do it, because overall, I like you. However, regardless, the next time I'm deleting it from any of my blogs that does not specifically discuss this topic.
First of all, I do not see Biden as a bad choice. He is innocent of any crimes, unless he is proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law otherwise. His one allegation is insufficient to sway my belief in his participation in a crime. He has a long history of good public service. He has White House experience.
However, I would write in someone else as my choice with or without the allegation. Someone who I think is the absolute best choice. Last time it was Bernie and under normal conditions, I would do the same this year. However, this time it is very different. Trump has proven he is a extremely dangerous choice. He is a corrupt lying conman, who is a narcissist, who lacks empathy and uses the position for personal gain. Plus, it was proven by the last presidential election, the public cannot be trusted to not make the worst choice - Trump. Last time I did not consider that Trump might win. It was clear he was the worst choice. Yet, he did win with a minority of votes. Thus, I encourage everyone to vote in Biden. I will be doing the same. We cannot allow another Trump term. The country may not survive it.
Thanks for posting both of those videos Bo. I enjoyed the 2nd video the most, as well as the New Yorker's statement to Moscow Mitch. As soon as he is up for election he should be shown the retirement door.
Maybe not fully. But Trump went out of his way to ignore at least 10 warnings within his own administration and also an 80+ page manual left by the Obama administration on how to respond to a pandemic, which even discussed viruses, including Corona viruses as potential sources. Not only did he ignore the warnings & manual, he went so far to state, that "it was under control" and "would disappear before May". He also gave dangerous false drug & treatment recommendations. As Dr. Bright recently testified before Congress, lives were lost because of the delayed response and inadequate preparation.
C - real scientists are dedicated to discovering truth and the mechanisms that bring about that truth. They usually only become involved with politics, when politicians lie about the truth with regard to science, or they are looking for sources of funding, or they are asked to be expert witnesses. Granted, some that are billed as scientists, aren't really scientists, but may have some scientific interests, or act as scientists to accomplish an agenda. I realize for many lay people, the difference is difficult to distinguish.
M - I remember you saying so in a different blog. I figured, that unlike you, some may not yet have had an opportunity to see/hear/read it. So, I though this would serve as a good shorter version.
Plus, I recall, that you forgot the name of the Republican, who supported Dr. Bright's testimony. His name (Mr. Bowen) is included above.
That is always the best method. "To thine own self be true." Work to put yourself in a position, that you are prepared and able to endure any circumstances that might occur.
Every person who enabled Trump to get elected by either voting for him, or not voting against him, should be ashamed and embarrassed, that they enabled such a corrupt lying conman to do so much harm to the nation and it's people. His "so-called" presidency has been a real tragedy and the worst in US history. Not only should it not be repeated, but better controls need to be enacted, so that such a travesty cannot happen again.
How naive & outright dumb someone must be to trust information about the virus from the prolific liar Trump (over 10,000 lies served) over the highly educated pandemic expert.
I'm guessing, that in the price you quoted the "." was meant to be a , otherwise I'm headed to Denmark to buy up 500 rental homes and a terrific vacation home for me.
C - now there's an example of extremely poor reader comprehension. I was talking about those who drive drunk & kill people and those who infect others with Covid-19 and thus kill them, because they feel their mobility is more important than other's lives. Unless Biden did either of those things, you are way off topic.
RE: The leg propped up stance...
I'm always somewhat surprised, that anyone can stand at all in those spiked high heels.
