Honesty is a (unfortunately) rare and precious characterisitic. Thus, I have a hunch that she's worth the wait. However, only you know this for sure. Either way, much success to you.
Don't let 'em get to you. Let them eliminate themselves. I do notice an overall lack of humor with most (compared to to other sites), but there are a few with good personalities too. Just avoid the bitter ones. They probably got dumped by some guy and are looking to take it out on all/most men. It's a sifting process. Sift out the bad and find that rare gem.
She's right. Life is TOO short. Let it go and move on. Next ! It's better to find out now than much later. That way you can focus on someone more special. To success !
Agreed ! What fun is intellectual discourse without alternate views. We have much to learn from different perspectives. IMO we can learn SOMETHING from everyone as truly listening is more important than expressing in this regard.
Obviously, I feel different about this issue. Indeed, honestly, I tend to trust a person a little more, when I see they put their face behind what they say. This media is inherently more than enough impersonal. I stand behing what I say. However, I (wisely) would not give out personal information about my friends & family, nor pictures of them to anyone online.
I was watching a NY Mets game (baqseball) the other day and an excellent former player and current announcer. Keith Hernandez, said something interesting, which has some truth in it. He indicated that one judges the character of a person, not based on their best stuff, but how they behave, when it's not their best stuff. How they handle their struggles, in an attempt to turn them into successes, when they are not at their best (i.e. sick, injured, stressed, pressure, etc...).
I understand how frustrating this can be. I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer. It took only 1/2 year and it was extremely painful. So, yes, it can be worse. My advice is to enjoy what time you can share with him now.
I've never viewed Whoopie as being "outrageously funny", nor all that talented. Her friend, Robin Williams, on the other hand is immensely talented and truly outrageously funny. JMHO
Good blog & good advice. Life is a roller coaster ride. One can hang on and recognize, that it will have lows & highs and by keeping ones wits about them, they can not only survive, but thrive.
