Thanks carob & gotit. I'm glad you both enjoyed the blog. While I certainly lament the loss of a friend, my purpose was to get people to both think of their actions/statements and to see the longevity of their presence online.
Repair of the earth ? I didn't know it was broken. We'll get a mechanic to look into this. Maybe it should be a refrigeration technician to fix the global warming !
There will be plenty of drinks at the party... even for attorneys.
Despite the many runon sentences, I did read your whole blog.
I'm also an atheist with a positive attitude. Since I believe this life is all there is, I aim to make the most of it and enjoy it, while I can.
The reason religion still exists, is that it is taught to children at a very young age by their parents, or by clery motivated by profit & control. This molds the child to think this way. Some people later think independently and learn of the concrete evidence for evolution, and other causes of things that were formerly attributed to god(s) and then question whether an unseen entity actually exists. Others never do, or at least won't admit that they do. Regardless, religion will likely be slowly reduced with each passing generation as more & more of the causes of life are truly understood. Most recently, leading astrophysicist Stephen Hawking announced in his most recent book, that the need of a god for creation would be "redundant" (see my previous blog on this).
Nonetheless, I agree with Tammy (above) that we should coexist and be tolerant of each other's beliefs. To each their own.
Serp - I guess I misunderstood what you were asking. You stated that you checked out my profile and did I have any comments. I'm still not sure what you were asking.
