RE: Hot off the press; No one (who can't read) could have seen the pandemic coming

So, you're not prepared to throw yourself on your sword for the sake of what is right and just.

You're prepared to throw women on your sword for the sake of getting a slightly better deal.

RE: Hot off the press; No one (who can't read) could have seen the pandemic coming

In case you didn't notice Jim, this:
was directed at you.

If you truly believe this, you would not support Biden anymore than you support Trump.

RE: The 'Craziest' Idea yet to Fight the Virus

Jim, you have called for action to be taken against Trump based upon media information for years.

Your are unable to support Trump because of what you see in the media. You constantly, daily, post issues relating to Trump's inadequacies and criminal behaviour.

But your principals go out of the window when it comes to Biden because he opposes Trump.

The opposite applies to you, Mic. All of a sudden you have principals and a concept of cognitive aptitude.

RE: The 'Craziest' Idea yet to Fight the Virus

You also have a history of standing up to government which does not have your best interests at heart and government which advocates, supports and relies upon oppression.

You do not have to make this choice of two unacceptable options.

You can make a stand against inappropriate and oppressive government.

Or are women not really people, but property?

RE: Hot off the press; No one (who can't read) could have seen the pandemic coming

...we really should limit the presidency
to...people who are honest, decent...

RE: "Me Too" & "Believe The Woman" Are Dead As Caesar

That was supposed to be 'up the emotions a little bit'. laugh

RE: The 'Craziest' Idea yet to Fight the Virus

I have a sinking feeling you're not going to make a step up whichever way you vote under the current circumstances.

I have a sinking feeling you'll try to hold onto Biden and put him in the White House under the impression than he might be marginally better than Trump.

RE: The 'Craziest' Idea yet to Fight the Virus

Yeah, I think you need to start over. Find different people to run for president.

Alternatively, everybody votes in the next election, but deliberately spoils their ballot paper.

Refuse to take part until you can make sensible, realistic choice.

I think we probably need to do that too, but being far less powerful, we have less of an impact upon the rest of the world.

RE: "Me Too" & "Believe The Woman" Are Dead As Caesar

That we need to say something.

If it's a matter of confidence, then run your observations by a woman, or women you trust.

There'll be a lot of different opinions out there. Some arguments can be opposing, but both be true, or both have value.

RE: "Me Too" & "Believe The Woman" Are Dead As Caesar

I didn't say that all men act like that.

I wanted to know how many men recognise what's going on, but say, or do nothing.

Or actively try and put a spanner in the works of change.

What pressures are men under to keep quiet like they are in the picture?

RE: BCG (the TB inoculation) could be an answer

I don't recall the BCG vaccination being at all painful, or being poorly as a result.

I remember being warned before I had I but nothing happened other than the scar on my shoulder.

I think this is a very interesting blog, on more than one level.

RE: BCG (the TB inoculation) could be an answer

I think we've far surpassed the reported death toll coming out of China, Viv.

We passed 10,000 yesterday and will likely be past 11,000 when today's figures are publicised any time now. We haven't peaked yet.

Beijing claims 3,336 losses, all done and dusted.

RE: BCG (the TB inoculation) could be an answer

Assuming they did get off more lightly, rather than fudging their figures.

Being able to explore patterns is another good reason for open and honest dialogue.

RE: BCG (the TB inoculation) could be an answer

Sorry, could you explain the link to me, Viv.

The maps are too small for me to see properly.

RE: Ping

He's taking a long time to think about this...

RE: Ping

Oh, come on guys. I don't have to try at these things.

I'm a natural. banana

RE: Ping

Ooops, sorry about the random semi-colons. blushing

RE: Ping

From a survey of favourite childhood toys, it was found that the majority of computer programmers not only said Lego, but that they played with it in a specific way: they would never use random bricks, but colour co-ordinate specific areas of their models.

The trouble with the modern sets is not only the loss of imaginative input, but of developing cognitive function. A set with instructions doesn't allow for free sequencing and strategy development.

Another study demonstrated that children learn more effectively when manipulating toys in primary colours. Back in the 90's when pastel coloured Lego appeared in the pink aisles of Toys-R-Us, our girls' learning was being disadvantaged.

Toys are really important and they shape us. As we play with them in our formative years, they also stay with us into adulthood.

Okay, you walk them over hear, I'll walk then back. laugh

The sock! Hilarious! rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Ping

I've got a suitcase full of 1960's Lego train set.

It's got track, battery operated engines, loads of bricks and things...

Seeing as you already did your homework this morning, you wanna come over for tea at my house? laugh

RE: The Dogs

You should give Beethoven and Amadeus to me.

RE: Ping

I'm in no position to judge.

I like colouring in, particularly with sparkly gel pens.angel2

RE: "Me Too" & "Believe The Woman" Are Dead As Caesar

Have you scored some kind of a victory there, Mic?

RE: Pursuit of Happiness

Yes, do stop fuh-cking swearing, Mercedes. scold

RE: Pursuit of Happiness

Uh huh, I have 5 rolls of my very own and a pack of four cwtched away in case I have to quaratine for a fortnight.

RE: Biden stands up for China

Oh golly, how like Trump does that make him look?

What chance has Pete Buttigieg got of becoming president? He comes across as being emotionally mature enough to be president.

I imagine he'd be a formidable world leader.

RE: Pursuit of Happiness

I think that's what Johnny was saying - that everyone should have a bit of pretty in their lives (whatever their version of pretty is) because it's good for the soul.

The question is, if some people hoard all the pretty things, does that mean lots of other people go without?

My answer is yes, wealth is remarkably like toilet paper. laugh

RE: Pursuit of Happiness

I think silver is more sophisticated. snooty laugh
