I didn't say the new Labour leader had no self-interest, I said Xi Jinping and Donald Trump appear to be putting their own self-interests before the citizens of their country.
Who was it who said if viruses were really clever, they'd function symbiotically with their host, rather than killing it? It might have been Jim.
A quick google and it looks to me that there has been quite a lot of research carried out by universities and investigations by other other bodies regarding voter fraud.
The consensus of opinion appears to be that it is so rare that it does not impact upon final election results.
It's rarity might also account for why you've only heard of a few states prosecuting here and there.
One issue that does impact upon election results is declaring that certain government issued identity documents aren't government issued enough.
When government issued identity documentation held by those living in social housing is disallowed and offices issuing driver licences in poor areas are closed in the run up to elections, a stratum of the population is excluded who could potentially have an impact upon outcome. Perhaps one might review the concept of voter fraud.
If an entire population is excluded from voting by a combination of quarantine and withholding remote voting, one might also review the possibility of a wannabe dictator realising his dreams.
This is one of the videos from the ship as Captain Crozier left:
Crew are chanting his name and clapping a rhythm in a way I would associate with the social etiquette of personal and directed support.
If the crew wanted to support his removal without booing, or making support for his removal obvious in another way, they could have just clapped randomly as an audience would to show their approval. That would have created an ambiguous message as to whether they were supporting the captain, or his removal.
They clearly haven't created an ambiguous message. They are clearly supporting their captain.
Anyone who has ever served, or anyone who has ever served during peacetime with a potentially lethal virus raging through their confined, overcrowded ship?
There is a greater, global common enemy at the moment, Dragonaer. It changes things.
My hair is in it's natural state, much longer now than in my out of date profile pics.
My daughter is a dab hand at hair cutting and does her own and my grandchildren's, one time with surprising gift when my granddaughter chopped a chunk out of the front of hers almost to the roots.
My son-in-law simply shaves his follicly challenged self.
Fashions are often dictated by circumstance: Skirt length went up when resources became scarce, lengthened when times were good.
It's funny to think that even fashion may be impacted upon by this virus.
I predict much shearing when we no longer have to adhere to restrictions.
The last thing we need is for that muppet of a Prime Minister to have anything, but mild symptoms.
If Donald Trump, or Xi Jinping had a hefty dose it might create positive change, not that I'd wish for anyone to have a hard time, but this is about the survival of so many.
I'd gladly see a few temporarily out of action if it meant the survival of many.
I want to email that joke to my mum, but her English and German language has become so muddled in the last few years, I don't know if she'd get it.
She emailed me recently assuring me that her and dad were 'insulating' themselves from the virus, but she had to go to visit the hospital 'wampiers' for blood tests.
She's very old, poorly, struggling and horribly vulnerable. She has no intention of dying, however. She doesn't want Boris Johnson to get his hands on her pension.
I promised her that if she dies, I won't tell anyone for two years and I'll have a letter box installed in her coffin to post her pension money to her.
I'm assuming there's a bit less of that at the moment, given we have a common enemy to fight from behind closed doors.
Shift that towards a war on want, rather than war because I want more than I need.
War also requires hatred and de-humanising of others for us to even contemplate it as being okay. We should take this opportunity to contemplate that we're all pretty much the same.
I think it might be a bit big to carry it out. Just imagine the environmental impact of a plastic shopping bag that big.
Seriously, I'm all in favour of local produce and minimising transport emissions.
I'm also fairly enthusiastic about eating more plant based food having heard that if everyone was vegetarian we'd only need half the landmass we're currently using for food production to feed the whole world. If everyone had an entirely plant based diet, we'd only need a quarter.
I'm not suggesting everyone needs to turn vegan over night, but I find it encouraging that a shift is happening and we can share enough so no one goes hungry, at least in partial theory.
Reducing animal farming and animal product sales would likely have an impact upon disease in all sorts of ways as well.
I'd feel an absolute dolt, 2maybe, if it weren't for the fact that I believe I've done the opposite.
Closing borders meant your kingdom was in pieces and whether they fell through lack of resources, or were crippled by greed and guilt, they would fall somehow, or another in pieces.
So, shall we start again, but with a global community? As separated as we are, we are all suddenly and starkly very aware of everyone else out there.
RE: Good news & bad news
Ooops! He hasn't got pneumonia, I have a typo...
