Ah, the Irish and their sense of whimsy! I think I wouldn't really get that (Americans don't really get whimsy) but for my very whimsical British mother (of Irish heritage).
Today, I learned that the red & white suited Santa is the Coca Cola version of the mythical giver originating in Europe. Therefore, I must surmise that India has adopted the American version of the European tradition!
Welela & Stringman - I never knew that! Oh well, as Santa is a mythical figure then I guess dressing him in the colours of coca cola is as relevant as the traditional green or brown or sackcloth or white... They all have their place.
