I think this is a challenge many retired people have these days. Or want to be retired but have to continue working in order to afford more than just basic living.
I've often thought of moving to Panama for the same reason, and there's a large population of ex-patriots there, (and many other countries similar). Mexico has a large population of ex-patriots for the same reason.
It's a tough decision to make, being far from family. I'm not ready to make that decision yet, but wish you all the best on this. There are many who have made the move and are more than happy with their decision.
GG - what a sweet thing to say! Thank you very, very much. It warms my heart when people can feel and imagine from the words I write, like painting a canvas, only with words instead of a brush.
GG - yeah, I never biked in my old community either for the same reason. I used to bike around the lake really early to avoid the crowds, but would have to cycle around three times to get more than 5Km in. Where I am now, I do a huge loop and cycle about 10km away from any traffic.
In my old community, I'd frequently load my bike onto my car to ride someplace quiet, different and longer. It was okay, and there are things I miss about living where I did, but not enough to want to move back there! lol. Being able to ride my bike anywhere here is wonderful!
GG - correct - we haven't for the past 19 years as rBGH was banned in Canada. And to this day, Monsanto still can't provide our scientists with any further verification or data of their claims.
Canadians made it very clear to the government and the dairy producers - we do not want hormonal milk. Period.
GG - yes, I was lucky it let me that close. I do have a long lens that allows me to zoom in as well, but I wasn't that far away from it. It was really little, it was so cute. Mom was a bit panicked but she still didn't go to the baby. She scurried into the underbrush. It wasn't until the noisy bus came along that the baby also disappeared.
Track16 - thank you so very much. Yes, there's a lot of meaning in it for me, and most people buy paintings that strike an emotion in them. If my painting does that for anyone else, then I've succeeded in conveying that moment.
RE: Okay, the challenge is: decision, decision, decision
