Soup's On!

1to1 - Here's the one I made today. Easy and delicious!

RE: Photo Caption Contest - Bear Chalet

I can just bearly get my snout in here! Note to self- do not get snout stuck again.

Male Drama Makers

Grouchy - that's exactly how I would have handled it. See ya! Unfortunately, others were too quick to pander to his ego, so now his widdle ruffled feathers have been smoothed. Which sets the stage for more manipulative and controlling behaviour. frustrated

Male Drama Makers

Molly - this is true. He needs to tuck his ego back into his gd pants, imo. thumbs down

Male Drama Makers

Jim - I have no interest in starting my own club. I was even offered payment to take other local photographers out to teach them. As I don't have the knowledge I declined, but was flattered by their request. .

Male Drama Makers

Biff - I don't see why you took yours down. Mine doesn't target ALL men, just those that think they are royalty. wink

Male Drama Makers

Crest - suuuure! Just what I want to see, someone having a hissy fit because they don't get their own way. Thanks anyway.

RE: MD Immigrants

Certainly not missing that disgusting pig from MD that posted disgusting stuff on blogs. Not missing the other one either. I definitely do not miss the politicos, although this site has their own that idolize the current pig in the White House and pretend they're such good Christians while lowering themselves to name calling and don't see their own lying, hypocritical reflection and that of the one they idolize. barf

And for sure, I do not miss the copy and paste guy who couldn't accept that he didn't know everything about running a business. thumbs down

So yep, as long as you ignore any of the political bs (and those that engage in it), then yep, it's definitely a breath of fresh air.

RE: McCain the Maverick is no more...

What honour and integrity looked like. A truly great man, and one who loved and put his country above his own self-interest. A man one could admire whether they agreed with his politics or not.

RIP Senator McCain. Your served your country well.

RE: Gardening for Beginners

Good luck with your classes! I just picked a tomato this morning and a zucchini that is a perfect size. Some of my zucchini's I see one day and it's like, oh, another day or so - a day later and they're BIG!

Next year, just one zucchini plant will do (my Mom got carried away with her seeds). My tomato in the pot is not doing well and I'm just going to let it die. The one's in the garden are doing exceptionally well. Just waiting for the tomatoes to ripen. banana

RE: Fried Ginger...

When I first glanced at the title I thought it did say Fred & Ginger. laugh

I love fresh ginger root, in almost anything. Fried ginger in a stir fry is delicious! I make a ginger tea by boiling up ginger root in water and letting it simmer for about 15 minutes. Add a little lemon and honey or stevia and you have a wonderful hot drink, great for the digestion. Or, when it's hot outside, let the 'tea' get cold, add ice and lemon and honey (or in my case, stevia), and it's a delicious, refreshing iced 'tea'. Supposedly, if one drinks one cup before breakfast and dinner, it's a great aid in weight loss.

Streetwalkin': Resorting to the Resort

Talldreamy - yes, it definitely is, when the smoke clears!

Streetwalkin': Resorting to the Resort

Thanks, bluesky - yes, the smoke was pretty thick that day - and eery looking over the golf course.

Streetwalkin': Resorting to the Resort

Thanks, Jim. The ones that are faves are landscapes - rather than street photos! lol

Streetwalkin': Resorting to the Resort

It's like anything, Molly - it's just practice, practice and more practice - and luck! grin

Streetwalkin': Resorting to the Resort

Fay - re: the new challenges. Thank you! I do enjoy street photography, although don't think it'll take over from landscapes and macro - at least, not at this point. :)

RE: Guilty, guilty, 8 times over. Jailbirds of a feather, might be imprisoned together.

I haven't read all the comments, but just curious, won't trump just pardon anyone that's convicted? Which, of course, will make the whole justice system a farce, just like this White House occupant. barf

Streetwalkin': Resorting to the Resort

Fay - yes the town's dog friendly as long as they're on a leash. The first photo of the hippy lady she's walking her dog. I have a couple of others with dogs, but didn't post them. I guess because I'm a cat person, I'm not particularly interested in or focus on dogs. grin

Streetwalkin': Resorting to the Resort

TR - thanks! New to this form of photography, it's much more difficult than one would surmise. Although it's good practice almost anywhere, the downtown area has more character and characters to photograph. I'll head back there next week and find some spots to people watch. grin

Streetwalkin': Resorting to the Resort

GentleJim - sounds like a lovely day for you! I'm beginning to wonder what blue sky looks like. Glad you enjoyed your day. thumbs up

Streetwalkin': Resorting to the Resort

Hi 1to1! wave It was so nice last Friday to go south and see some blue skies. Unfortunately, even there has smoke now. The smoke here lifted a bit yesterday but today it's bad again. Isn't it unbelievable how far the smoke travels without dissipating? You'd think that it would dissipate over the miles, but obviously not.

It must have been bad today because after my bike ride, I found myself really, really tired, and although that could partly be lack of iron, I'm thinking it's more lack of oxygen and I stayed indoors the rest of the day. Sigh. This is the second year we've been under smoke filled skies when we should be enjoying blue sky and sunshine. crying

Dreaded Phone Calls

GentleJim - thanks - not a fan of sardines, but definitely love the salmon. Might have to mortgage my house to buy some, though. wink

Dreaded Phone Calls

Fay - having been audited twice, I don't think I want to push it. laugh

Dreaded Phone Calls

LOL Fay! Great idea! I can just see the IRS having a hissy with that. rolling on the floor laughing

Dreaded Phone Calls

Bluesky - you and me both in each instance. Relieved that there's nothing serious, and more than tired of these smokey skies.doh

Dreaded Phone Calls

Itchy - lol - yes, sometimes we definitely are better off without them! rolling on the floor laughing hug

Dreaded Phone Calls

1to1 wave - Thanks for the info! I'm not much of a pill taker, and definitely will up my iron-rich foods. Also, thanks for the tip on Omega 3's. thumbs up grin

Dreaded Phone Calls

Jim - all the things I love! grin

Dreaded Phone Calls

Fay - I totally forgot about liver! I had to eat that when I was a little girl as well, once a week Mom made it, and fortunately, I love liver and onions. There's a place where Mom lives that serves liver and onions, and although I love it, I'm not crazy about cooking it. So maybe a dinner out might be in order. grin

Evacuation Alert

Fay - yes they will, not only the burnt timber, but the rejuvenation. The smoke gives some opportunities, but not many.
