RE: Blister Pack...

Right on!thumbs up America is the only country where you can stave to death in the midst of plenty cause you cant get in the blasted package!frustrated
Tear here..yeah that works! Teeth..nope.. scissors, knife..machete!! CHAINSAW!
Funny how so much is to prevent shoplifting. And they put back the empty package on the shelf and walk off. We go bats at home attempting to get in the package. Child proof. Kids can, adults can't!
Safety seals work well. So safe, we can't get to product. Why can't chips go back to foiled paper sacks? Can't tear open. Then it rips and chips all over. One bag opens nice and stays together. The other keeps ripping like tissue.
Some tops needs the Hulk to open..pliers time!sigh

RE: Do We Really Want A Smirking Milktoast As President When America Is Surrounded By Predators

I remembered, have to forgive Biden, he is a stutterer. But, that makes him appear senile..or more than he is. Could be why he has to read everything. What I saw in debates is he loses his temper. When dealing with foriegn leaders, one needs to stay in control. Not resort to name calling and sputtering. Need to think on your feet. What gets me with Biden is the way he skates around a question. Ask him 3 times and he still never answers it.
I can see him whipping off his shoe ala Khrushchev and pounding it on the podium to get attention.
His deer in the headlights stance doesnt inspire confidence for sure. huh? what? huh? dunno

RE: Three Things To Remember When The Democrats Start Whining About Trump's Supreme Court Appointment

The Dems are SOOO sure Trump will lose. Go ask Hillary about that one. rolling on the floor laughing Next Pres may well BE Trump. Then what?

RE: Redhead...

Boaders ex was a red head. He likes them. She was deep red. There used to be a model for the perfume White Shoulders. Unreal. Skin like white porcelain. She must have never gone outside in daylight.
Went to school with a family of them. Parents, kids..boys girls. All carrot tops. O'Keefes. Except one girl..black hair. Sure looked weird. Throw back.

RE: Under Trump the national debt has increased from $19.9 Trillion to $26.5 Trillion

If I remember there were Doc saying that drug was great. Trump only repeated what many were saying. Kick him for believing his advisers. The Dems way is tax and spend. It shows already how they want to print tons of money to give away. Keep the extra unemployment cash at 600 so people make more to stay home. Depress the economy more. Trump was and is not the only one whining about that. How about the businesses, big and small who want to re-open.
My tenant is a lawyer. He tried to work from home and had to go in the office all the time to check faxes etc. So he said what is the use and re-opened his office. Called his secretary and said come on back. She told him no cause she was making more on unemployment. He said she did call him a week later and apologize and came back to work.
If the Dems get power you will see taxes go sly high and it won't be on the rich, it will be everyone. Then hear the workers scream. Of course the welfare crowd will heap praise because those workers will be paying so they don't have to work or do with less than the people who work for it.

RE: BREAKING News ! NY AG moves to dissolve NRA after finding extensive fraud.

The NRA has already posted a law suit against it. I don't see how she can dissolve it. It is a private US entity. All I can see possible is to revoke their non profit status. To break it up would be like trying to dissolve the NFL. Her power is state only. And the NRA is nationwide. The only other thing would be to arrest and charge the head guys(s) with fraud or theft.
Just another attempt to win votes.

RE: Yup

Huh? OH! rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Me And The Animals

Cats just see us as soft warm places to sleep. Oh lay down already, I am tired.laugh Dogs see us the same way.
I can't go anywhere on the farm without walking in a herd of cats. Even the semi wild ones. So what is it...you expect me to make a kill or what?dunno
Pets love to share.. parts of dead animals in your path, preferably in the dark when you are barefoot. Shedding hair, ticks, fleas, dirt....sigh
To them, togetherness means..MY CHAIR. Sharing means what you are eating SHOULD be theirs.rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Under Trump the national debt has increased from $19.9 Trillion to $26.5 Trillion

So it is all Trumps fault, eh. Not the congress? Not the covid relief? Trump caused it all himself. Give me a break! Figures can be made to show whatever one wants.
Our government has been digging us in a whole for decades. Nothing new.scold

RE: Frugal times

You have a problem due to being an island. The pulp industry in the US is not so bad. The forests that are cut down are for lumber and that is denuding the forests. Paper comes from trees planted just for the paper industry or waste from the lumber companies. And can be recycled again and again. Paper sacks are way stronger than the thin plastic bags they now order us to use.
A tree must grow for 20 years to make lumber. Fast growing trees for pulp can be cut in ten and some even less.
The government has wised up here to the fact that hemp is NOT pot. During the war, Wisconsin grew massive acres of hemp. It was made into clothes, rope and all kinds of things. We are just just re-starting the industry. I think since papyrus can be made into paper, so can hemp?

RE: White, and Trump leaning Minorities, flight from....

Lucky I am, to be a survivalist living on a farm in the boonies. Just read some bull about RHINOS saying they are voting for Biden. So because you hate Trump, you are willing to throw us all to the wolves? Do they think if the Dems gain control, the Repubs will ever get it back?
They are a bit leery that if Trump wins they will get cast out. They should be booted out of the party now as traitors.
You are a Dem, or Repub or Independent. There is no such thing as being Dem or Rep and voting for the other team. What would happen in a ballgame if a player ran and made a score for the opposing team!wow
Anyone who thinks all will a walk in the park if the Dems get in, better tighten their belt. Because, historically, Dems jack up taxes. And since they are part of the elite you dang well know whose pockets all those free rides will be coming out of.mumbling

RE: Democrats vote-by-mail push likely to lead to election chaos in November and beyond

I see the whole system is iffy. We go to a polling place and cast votes and go home. We assume that vote is sent onward to be counted correctly. We do a leap of faith with no way to affirm.
I got a request mailed for husband to vote by mail. He was invalid. So I sent it to the town clerk that it was pre-addressed to. I saw it as a valid move. Mail in used to be for out of state or town, or ill. Not for lazy people. Would I do it for myself. No. Locally not a big deal to go there to the school/town hall.
Mom would have issues today. She had no ID except SS. She had never driven in her life and had no license to show. To get state ID back then, I would have had to drive her 60 miles to the DMV in the capital city.
All lots of young people will have now are school IDs. And mostly only if in college. They dont bother to learn how to drive.
My farm area is manned by the elders who know most people by sight. What a mess in cities when thousands hit the polls. And now, constricted even more with places shut down.
I get mail junk with every variation of my names possible. I get mail addressed to MR. What if I got ten absentee ballots to those names? Vote them all?frustrated doh

RE: I want to hear from other introverts

And it would be combined with the Procrastinators Club. No one would ever show up.rolling on the floor laughing

RE: This is how we should deal with the rioters

That is what I advocate. Give them a good bath at the same time.laugh When did the 70s sit ins become lets riot?very mad

RE: I want to hear from other introverts

Past introvert..full recluse. Grew up on this farm as an only child. Spent my childhood wild in the woods, barn and river. Father was 54 when I was born. All I saw were adults til school. Had some friends which stuck through graduation. Went places with husbands. Never could figure people out, specially younger. Asked mom once, why all the girls scream in gym. She said ignore it, they just want attention.
Now husband is gone. I am retired. Only girlfriend I rarely saw died. So back to old ways of childhood. I have a fellow who is here once in awhile. Boarder who I talk to maybe an hour in a couple days. Tenant and couple of neighbors who text occasionally when important.
I am self contained. Learned to entertain myself with hobbies and the farm. I am fine with minimal contact with humans. Think 80% of people are idiots. World circles around me and I see little sense in most of it. I am a survivalist and buckskinner. Happier in the 1800s or 1900s.
Only social I wish is via here. Find out what the world is up to besides TV news.roll eyes

RE: EPA approves 2 disinfectants for killing virus that causes Covid-19 (Do not inject !)

Super. Now all we have to do is wait for a year or two for them to be on the shelves.frustrated sigh

RE: Once in a lifetime Comet viewing

They said after 10pm here. I looked. Trees trees and more blamed trees.very mad frustrated I will need to try again. I watched Halebop every night when I went to the barn. It became a friend. I was sad to see it leave. How could I get attached to an ice ball on it's journey?confused But, it just became part of my world, but special.
Dad was alive when Halleys went through. He wanted to live to see it return but didn't make it. And didn't matter cause it's return was a bust.blues

July on the farm.

Hiddy ho back. Your pic reminds me...my apple tree is covered with apples. Amazed at all the fruits and such when I never saw pollinators except for a few bumbles.confused dunno

July on the farm.

After two wet years was happy to see a drier one. And then...uh...too dry. Need rain. Plants that grow wild were getting droopy. The leaves on the corn were starting to furl. Yesterday, cloud came over. Please please please...and gone past. Not a drop. GRRRR.
So today, checked pots, still good from watering. 89 degrees. Afternoon, clouding up. Was that...thunder!! YES! And down came the rains. Stop start and kept it up. 2 inches worth. My tub pond has water, was going to fix that leaking drain..oh well...buckets on decks to collect are full. Rain barrels are full. May rain Thursday, watch it be too much now.
Poor veggies got rather beaten. No problem tho...90 and sunny tomorrow will pick their little heads back up. Of course with heat advisory, may have cooked plants!laugh scold

RE: "TIME OF THE FREE RIDE"

Right on!!thumbs up handshake

RE: There just is no way a man can make a woman happy even when he takes over the cooking for a change.

Actually hate cooking. Only will do it for my man. In the case of first husband..no..idiot! His ma catered to the boys. One day I came home from work and he is sitting at the kitchen table. I said what is up. He said waiting for you to get home to make me a sandwich.wow doh I said how long have you been waiting..an hour.
When I told my parents my dad said, what? He didn't know which side of the bread to butter?!very mad

RE: Coronavirus lockdown... again!

Blame the idiot kids who think nothing counts except their fun.doh

RE: Final Numbers are in.....

I wear a hog leg lots out and about on the farm. Wisconsin is open carry legal. Had a car crash in my ditch, heard ruckus and went down, armed as usual. County deputy there never even gave me a glance. Didn't bother him one bit.
Night shift in grocery years back, guy walks in with hog leg, goes to look at mags. confused dunno City cop stopped and talked to guy. Maybe fellow officer? Anyway he knew him. I don't worry about open carry. My worry is the concealed that has NO permit.

RE: Mosquito season has arrived in the USA

I have rain barrels, covered with net. I have a tub pool and a frog pond. Daily use a butterfly net to scoop out lava. I love to hear them cry and scream as they die. But, since I live along a river and have a farm, doesn't do much good. They are horrid right now.frustrated crying

RE: How to wash a cat.

Clever boy...rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Farm workers and COVID-19...

I wash everything. Even if I peel it. Never used to do bananas til I talked to a guy who used to be a dock worker. He said see them come out of the hold and learn! Seems the rats like to go potty on them during the voyage. Plus birth pups on them and they get blood and --- on them. Just get hosed off and sent on their way. So now run under faucet.
I won't buy strawberries from Cali anymore. They are huge, hollow and tasteless. Worst was I bought a flat to freeze. Didn't do them for a couple days. They looked fine and had liquefied inside. Since when do berries rot from the inside out?wow What weird bacteria do they have? I raise most stuff in buckets. Big garden is grown up to field again. I can control buckets on deck and lawn easier. Drill 3 holes about 3 inches from bottom to create a water reserve, fill with barnyard and good to go.
I won't eat fresh spinach. Thing I see is the huge fields that hands pick. But, never see rows of porta potties. So when nature calls????dunno

RE: Quote

Good one. I know one..how to put it nicely...uh..every person born has had a womens legs wrapped around their head.
Never figured out men who hate women when if it wasn't for one, they wouldn't exist.confused

RE: Rushing to end isolation ?

I find it ridiculous to blame Trump, Obama, the medical scientist or others over this pandemic. It is so easy to say what others did was wrong or what one would think should have been done. There is a saw that goes never judge another man until he has walked in his moccasins. The blame lies on a country that leaves meat laying open in markets, that eats unnatural things like bats and ant larvae. But, it is not only China. Around the world there are people who lack common sense when it comes to food or living conditions. That is where diseases originate and will continue to.
It is hard for developed countries to grasp epidemics fully. We eliminated many diseases long ago, like polio and Small pox. No politician is prepared to deal with a pandemic. Even the medical people can't agree on anything to do with it.
I understand people without work needing to earn a living. But, I see more instigation from the business, corporate and stock market world to re-open. The screams are the economy the economy. From DC to states, the rich hate to see their profit margins decrease.
As a basic hermit, the lock down hasn't really changed my life much. So I and some I know are well aware of the risks of Wisconsin opening. We will continue to follow social distancing and the rest. What I do see though are too many people who wont. I expect to see cases zoom as these clueless fools belly up to the bar, crowd beaches and blithely carry on like before.
I think Evers went overboard. No matter what testing is done, there is no way to measure this virus. One can test one negative and two days later positive. And half the tests, like many medical tests are flawed.
My worry is bars and restaurants more than stores. They now show a sneeze goes through the simple masks on the market or home made. And contact tracing is a farce. All it takes is one cook with it to contaminate things. Oh, the food is cooked. Uh huh...like the sodas, salads, wrappers? And if that person is working at a checkout lane for 8 hours, days til sick..how do they trace every customer who walked thru, plus the ones they contaminated?
The other joke is increased sanitation. How many teens work fast food restaurants? So they are taught to double clean areas. And they do..for a few days. Then they will get lax...this is crazy. The lazy workers will soon slap dash and call it good. And the managers won't keep after workers. So the only way safe would be bring wipes and clean your own table and booth!
Mom taught me from childhood, people are walking germ bags. Use common sense. The worst is the attitudes of others that don't care. Oh, I wont get it. Or it isn't that bad. I am healthy so wont die.
Yeah..well here is a revolver..let's play Russian roulette. Oh, by the way, there is not 5 empty and 1 bullet..this one has 3 bullets. Good luck.devil

RE: Excellent update on the Covid-19 vaccine front

Los Alamos lab said covid has already mutated. I see that by the time vaccines are out, they will already be obsolete. Plus, they aren't even sure getting the virus once, doesn't mean you can't get it again.
When the flu vaccines have a tendency to be on the mark at 15% of that year, how much faith do we have in a Covid one?

RE: Relax from all the heavy debates on CS.

Un-flocking real! That must be some super hard soil. Almost rock. Amazing. Beautiful. And he doesn't measure with rulers or string or anything, just eyes and digs. What a ton of work. Wonder what he does for income.
I like hand tools. Power is a pain mostly. Cords, batteries, worry about severing fingers or arteries. I have lots of hand tools and get aggravated at auctions when bidding against idiot going to put on rec room wall. ARGH..I need that tool to USE. And you, fool, pay more than new cause it's rusty.frustrated very mad
