That is a great video. But let us ask our founding fathers....how many Americans need to die post 911 to Islamic terrorism? Thomas Jefferson was the first to take Islamic terrorism on...when he sent the Marines to Tripoli.
The NSA (National Security Agency) computerized list of Islamic threats....was several 100s pages long of single line computer print out. Literally has 1000s of intell pick up of Islamic threats post 911. None in the Congressional hearing where it was shown questioned the veracity of it. The threats were and are real.
These were very practical men, our founding fathers. They realized that government would evolve to the prosperity or the threat given to the country. If they did not want a national defense, why make a Army and Navy in the Constitution? Why give men the right to bear arms for a militia?
They gave the Congress the right to legislate laws for the country. Knowing that the elected Congress was the closest representative to the common American. The Patriot act was duly enacted and signed into law.
Now Jesse V. and many others have come to a intrusive nature of the law. They use the founding father made other institution, the courts, to question the Constitution validity of the TSA procedures and sections of the Patriot act itself perhaps. They have every right to. But say the court throws out TSA pat downs and scanner, is not our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness been put at grave risk?
Ventura's TSA law suit has Supreme Court and Constitutionality written all over it.jmo
JLW ...just a personal observation here.....they are still confused by the enemy faced. So they turn to being politically correct. If you cannot control the enemy, control the friendly populace.
I will also clue you in. We have gotten know him a lot better this last year. The Sharia Law thingee. The DNA and Islam thingee. And I just had another intell grab on them. Just sending it in to Washington now. It is a doozy!
But that is why, I think that the Isreali method of profiling are a better security method. The lousy thing....is that the Isreali used the word 'profiling' in the description. If instead they would have used "Human Stress Observation Security Methods". We would be using it. It is one of those politically correct symantics thing.
Till the REP Gifford shooting in AZ....it was THE hot issue. Gifford shooting brought allot more issues to the table. But Jesse knows that the TSA is still using the pat down and the scanners.
In time another "touch my junk" is bound to happen. When it does...like Rudy Gualiani that used 911.....to promote his political career. Jesse will be there.
Am not saying that Gualiani, or Obama, or Ventura is doing anything wrong here. Just saying that calculated political thinking when into the decision.
Jesse is what? A libertian, yes? He sees this as a way to take on unbridal Gov't control and interference. He uses the court system to change the TSA policies on airport security.
But....when the court looks at that Patriot act that empowers TSA....it is pretty broadly worded to protect the country. Allowing the TSA and the HHS a vast number of ways to make air travel safe.
Jesse's and the other law suits are going to run into legal trouble here is my thinking. Courts are not going to want to reduce aircraft/airport security when you have Moscow's main airport getting hit with a terrorist attack.
Saying that Jesse is using the opportunity to get public exposure on a unpopular issue. Later if he choose to run for the MN Senate....that is votes.
There are two ways politicians gets popular support..one by lifting and promoting a popular issue. The other by attacking a unpopular issue.
In this case Jesse sues the TSA....joining the 1000s that don't like the TSA pat down procedures....and becomes their collective 'spokesperson'. All the more future media exposures and votes....
When Obama spoke on healthcare....he was lifting a popular issue. And he got popular support in doing so. Ventura now is legally condemning the TSA on patdowns. He will get popular support of those that feel the same.
Do I agree with the TSA pat downs? No. And Jesse is right, they are intrusive. And he has every right to file a suit. Just saying that he also is a politician.....and political advertisement for votes is not above any of them.
No, am saying this....that with all Jesse has been thru and done....getting patted down is a small thing. Sure Jesse is making a issue of invasive TSA procedures, and I don't have any trouble with that.
But let us not start to think that Jesse is a wilting violet when someone graps his junk. Jesse has been in more lockerooms and military barracks, were grapping one's junk is the least of your problems.
Jesse Ventura....is making the news some....he is going to sue the TSA and Homeland Security for "many intrusions of his person" during pat down and scanning of his body during screening at airports.
Jesse is looking a bit long in the tooth in his pic. But I will not digress to make personal comment that might be considered intrusions into Jesse person.
Though here is a man trained to do hours of a cold water environment from his NAVY SEAL training day....trained to seek out the enemy in hand to hand combat .....trained to take harsh interorragation if captured.....and he has a problem with a pat down?
He has had fellow grabblers in the professional wrestling world latch on to body part of all types, places and ways for a tug, throw and twist. Yet the scanner at the airport security give him a uncomfrontable buzz?
I think that you will see addition security within Russia. But on the international scene Russia will increase diplomatic and military assistance to Iran.
A little side note here. During the Russian/Chechen wars.....the Russian oil pipeline that carries 80% of the Siberian crude to Western Russia for heating, gas and export sales.....was attacked 1 time.
In the US Iraq occupational period, the Iraqi pipeline were attack 495 time over about the same 8 year period of time.
The Siberian oil pipeline is a soft infracsture target. So the question is....why did the Chechen not attack it? Place Iran into the picture as "go between middleman".
As a middleman....Iran uses the Chechens to do a Breslin attack, a Moscow theatre attack, this airport attack....when it wants something from a hesitant Kremlin. Russia pay the middle fees (Iranian contracts for weapons, nuclear reactors) to keep the Checken off soft targets and limit the number of casulity strikes like this.
Right now, Iran wants the Kremlin to say "no" on more Iran sanctions.
A very popular found for drug and medical progroms...the Global Fund....is 143m short on a audit. But only several 3rd world countries were audited with 53 more to go.
The fund is managed by the UNDP. The fund takes donations from Bill Gates, Bono....and other wealthy....but also American tax dollars. that then buys aids medicines and other other drugs for 3rd world distribution.
The potential is for billions to have been lost to corruption and to mismanagement.
The Dr discussing it...'said it potentially is the worse corruption of theft of fund for in a decade."
There is a FAA proposal out to make airspace over American cities open for law enforcement UAVs.
Now you got understand.....they cannot build a fence along the border.....and have a very limited number of UAVs flying it. Now they want to have the airspace over the US cities opened for UAVs?
Why not stop the drugs at the border....instead of the cites?
Oh I know. With the cities buying UAVs....there is much bigger market for than the border.
It was a state diner...we could have slain a buffalo for him....and made dried jerkie for him....and asked Hu's wife to soften the dried meat by jewing on it....but I guess that.... would not have met the White House approval......
Rob Emanuel is appealing to the IL Supreme court. I wonder how back logged the court is? The it sounded like to me....like he only had 30 days to get his name on the ballot.
State Courts can take 30 days to decide what they are going to have for lunch.
But being IL....I suspect the case to be "fast tracked",
They just had a major archerlogist discovery in Jerusalem. They found a 2000 year old sewer line under a ancient road....this road runs to the 'Plasa'. This was near the Jewish Temple. The road runs into the Jewish living area.
It connects the dots between who was here first in the ancient day and their living and religious sites. There is little doubt know that the Jew were the builders of ancient Jerusalem.
The Israeli digs don't run under or near any Muslim religious sites.
So why do I come into SB Peace thread with this?
Well SB wants the city.....a city that was originally Jewish....made into a International city. Managed by the UN.
Does anyone think that the UN would approve such digs if it managed the city? The UN has a voting block of 54 Muslim countries inside it. Few wish the ancient history of Isreal made known in the history books or in the today's media.
If Jerusalem is made a international city....under UN control....the world loses the history of the Jewish people. It will be buried under the technical and procedural rules of the UN...that would permit each dig request.
To the 12.5m Jews in the world and the millions of Christians that recognize that Christ was a Jew. Such is a great lose of their history and their faith.
There is lot to the middle east that SB does not know. But that HARvard assumption of knowledge to a subject......will get you into tight spaces every time.
We should talk about something serious here....or Dude will get upset and think we are having to much fun being the minority in America.
Seems like some Chechen terrorist got into the main Airport in Moscow. A explosion in the main passenger area killed two.
Now put this into some timing with the recent Iran/P5+1 talks breakdown.
Obama is going to seek harder sanctions on Iran with the breakdown in the talks, to force Iran back to the table.
Russia....is important to getting hard UN Sanctions. So Iran give the Checkens approval to make a attack in Moscow. Just to remind Russian leadership....what can happen.
It is early on the airport bomb explosion to know for sure it was Chechens. But there is not many other around right now for the desire to make such a attack.
Think back away. To the Russian train attack at St. Petersburg.
Russia had was in the process of approving more Iranian sanctions.
It will be the same for all the P5+1 countries....with the exception of maybe China.
I remember the Olmypic committee taking away the gold medals of the Chinese divers...because they were to young to participate in the summer games.
Now how does a National Sport Organization fail to get the birth certificates right? How does the Chinese Gov't issue passport not reflecting a accurate age?
But hey the young divers were the best in the country....so to win at the Summer games they had to compete...so the International rules had to be bent just a little....that is not a problem for a Socialist country. They don't make rules for them .....
There is maximum education from dawn to dusk for you........
