Chris, I know you come from a small country. So your look on the world is limited and shortsighted. But the US is a large country and has both national security interest and human right interests around the globe.
Our presence in Afghanistan is because of 911 and the human right violation of the Taliban. Our presence in Iraq is because of human right violation of the former dictator Sadam Hussien.
As for Iran.....I seem to remember Iranian storming a US embassy to begin the breakdown in the Iran/USA relationship.
As for Egypt. To its south Egypt has the very unstable countries of Sudan....and on it east it has the Kdaffi controlled Libia. And it needed military parity with Isreal. Hence the military sales to Mubarak Egypt. But even still....even I look down in Egyptian military air field today...it is not US made aircraft that sit on their. But Russian made migs.

What if you wrote a long piece of legislation, that you knew was unconstitutional. Got it passed. Then whether in office or out of office......you had legal work at $---.-- per hour from it?
The DEM knew Obamacare was unconstitutional. So why pass it? Why write it? Because the President is a attroney. Most of his HARvard Law School friends are attroneys. Most of his Chicago friend are attroneys. He is making work for them......
Obamacare was surely to be challenged around the country. 26 states filed on it. That is enough legal work for 100 reams of paper. All done by attroeneys.
Then you have the legalize of writing the 3000 page bill itself. Let us face it, a dieing Ted Kenndy did not write Obamacare. But the staff attroeney for all the DEM REP and Senators did. That is why there was much back room deals on getting it to the floor. But the attroenys in DC that wrote Obamacare had 1000 of billing hours to research and write 3000 pages of a complex medical bill.
Then you have the AG Holder's defense of Obamacare, that is going to go all the way to the Supreme court. This is no small case if it goes the Supreme Court. I bet just in the lower courts, Holder is sending teams of from 5 to 10 DOJ attroney to defend Obamacare. Holder will have 20 DoJ Attroney sitting there in the Supreme Court and another 100 doing research on it.
But it gets better than that. At the Supreme Court....all the parties that have a interest in Obamacare will have a chance to file legal briefs on Obamacare. Everyone from ACORN to NCPAA to TEAMSTERS to ACLU ...will be presenting a legal brief on it. That is all Dollars to teams of attroney that they employ.
The DEM don't want healthcare for the country. It was votes and a agrument. But more than that is was big bucks into the pockets of 1000 of legal firms and attroeny around the country. Legal firms that now have a big IOU to the Obama adminstration.
Then you have at the grass root level. The legal explanation of Obamacare to everyone on the country that is sick or in the medical industry. Think back to the town halls. How the DEM had a special phone set up....so that DEM legislature..."Could get the answers". Who do you think was on the other end of the phone line? Attroneys were. Attorney that has spent month writing and researching Obamacare.
I just bet somewhere deep inside this passed bill...there is a government funding section for legal defense and for legal research into its constitutionality. I further bet....that while Obama care is not functional until 2014, this section was made either retroactive or was made active on signage of the bill.
Those 4 year of be inactive...were the years that the mostly DEM attroenys were going to be milking the system with billing hours on various case research and filings on Obamcare.
