No bearing at all, Conrad. That Fannie and Freddie today want a $800-900b gov't bailout/investmaent says nothing at all. But hey has it no bearing that they lost that amount in the housing bubble collapse. Or that they were selling bad sub prime to the banks that failed.

Clinton's government forced the banks to make the loans. The banks made the loans. Fannie and Freddie guarranteed the loans. The house owner failed to pay the loans. Fannie and Freddie lost their shirts. The banks lose their shirt. The home owner lost his shirt. The American tax payer pay for both. And loses his shirt. The only one left with a shirt?

Obama and DEM company in $2000 suits and multi million dollar homes with special loans from countrywide.

Today there is growing interest in why Washington DC is the only major city in the country to avoid the housing bubble collapse of 2008. It is just amazing that the the entire country can lose housing equity and Washington DC does not.

The Taliban were able to assignate Karzai brother yesterday, One of his body guard shot him in Afhganistan. The Taliban are heralding it one of their biggest victory to date against the
Afghan government.

Rumored long to be involved in drugs and a corrupt official that got his power from his brother's Presidency. Still assignation at the hands of the Taliban directed security guard, is not high in political decorum. Clearly the Taliban have little thought to joining the Karzai government. A goal of the Obama administration.

What will be interesting here. Is to see how President Karzai responds to his brother's death. With most of the local Pastun tribes in peace talks with his government. He can go on a witch hunt for the consprirators of his brother murder into them seeking justice. If so, watch for the talks to soon fail.

If you have ever been in Florida for any length of time. You realize we are in the sub tropics. Which give us all the variety of plants and wildlife.

On the insect side of the equation we have. Love Bug Season. Fish Fly Season. Presently, it is Blind mosquito season. I have a bout dozen of them on my window over looking the yard. Just hanging on to the window.

'Blind Skeeters' as they are called locally. Cannot hurt you. They don't tap you like a Vampire's victim to draw out blood for a meal like regular skeeters do.

And they are really are blind. These critters were born without any eyes. Yet, they can tell a white car from any color. Our white car gets covered with them, while our light tan car has seldom of them. It must be the emitted heat from the car. Cooler surfaces attract them and hotter surfaces repulses them.

So what does this have to with politics?

We are coming in to the 2012 Political season. Most Floridians enjoy the annual bug (Love Bugs, Fish Flies and Blind Skeeters) seasons than they do the political season of the Presidency.

I have been looking for the political car bumper stickers to start appearing. Nada. The last read was on a 4X4 that I now quote......"Did you vote for Obama in 2008? What has he done
for you recently?" Ah yes that cutting Florida humor, there.

Nor have the yard sign supporting various canidates started to grow up in yards. Pesty things even round up cannot get rid of them. Round up is local weed killer. But this so far is mild season in yard signs and bumper sticker so far.

But for sure (My Valley Girl) just had to get into this post. We are soon to be overwhelmed by those pesty politicians soon. Florida campaigning for the primary will soon start. Obama would lbe wise to make a few trips down here to the Sunshine State. REP canidates are going to be flooding into it. If he does not meet their rhetoric...he stands to lose the state.

I noticed he has not gone to Iowa or the the other early primary states. That is going to losing by defaulting. Just my opinion there.

Blind skeeters are to small to fish with. Love Bugs are around only for two weeks. And Fish Flies are drawn to dead fish. So maybe this year we can fish with our politicians.

A litte more here. Hillary wants Assad to pay for the damages done to the Embassy. We are "broke" you know. Come on Hill, you run a multi billion dollar Federal Gov't agency.

Hit the petty cash account. They need new windows in the Syrian embassy. Assad will not pay for them till next year after winter.
The Embassy staff will freeze in Damscus if you don't get some windows for them.

Interesting news out there today.

First off. In Iraq....seems like President Obama might allow US forces to go after Iranian supplied Iraqi militia all by themselves. Take that alSadyr. First Qdaffi, now alSadyr.
By the time his terms ends, none in Islam will like him. The next President will have to apologize for the mistakes he made.

Secondly again in Iraq. Seems back in the 2003 invasion of Iraq,
the US saved a number of Jewish ancient artifacts and writings.
Sadam had been confiscating them and then placing them into a damp basement for storage. That of course causes them to degrade even faster. Well the struggle now is....the Iraqi government wants them back. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Moving on to China. China military commander....just commented on the American debt and our military spending. That the US should reduce military spending and have more to spend at home for the American people. (This is a pretty common theme here in US as well). This comes after the House approved the $639b DoD budget. But he might also being talking from the T-Bills owed to China. Cutting back DoD means more money for the repayments.

Middle East peace talks. Still dead locked. Four parties.....Hillary Clinton, UN Sect Gen Ban Ki0moon, EU Ambassador Cathrine Ashton and Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov cannot produce a joint statement on to proceed. Pease note that the Israel and the Palestine are not even in the list of parties there. Till you get them into face to face talks.....not much is going to happen.

Australia. Just passed its version of French Muslim Veil Law. Speaking of which. Reading King Abdullah II book here. He said back when Yasser Arafat was trying to escape his father and Jordan in the 70s....that he escaped from Amman by wearing a burka. He said Jordan security inform the King, and the king decided to let him leave the country. Ah yes, they have known about this terrorist burka wearing for sometime.

France. The French Foreign Minister says Qdaffi is preparing to go. I think that I have heard this more than once in the recent pass. This time the Minister says Libya officials informed him.
Wonder if the Libyan officials are now on the rebell side, :-)

Crete. A Greek military base explode and took the lives of at least 12 from a wild fire that ignited Iranian munitions. The munitions had been stored at the base for years. My connect the dots here....says that this might be connected to the Greece crackdown on the GAZA flottila ships that are being stopped.
Who set the wild fire, me wonders.

Finally. To good old US of A. President Obama...just let Russia into the Libyan thingee. Yep. He said Russia can negotiate a end to the Libyan crisis. I wonder if this means that Qdaffi get to walk out (e.g the French info). But what in the world is the POTUS letting Russia into the North Africa issue between NATO and Qdaffi for? Anyone one up for Russian Naval base in the Med on the North African coast? Qdaffi gets a villa on the Black Sea with Ukraine blondes. Russia gets a Naval base in the med. Something that they have always wanted. Nice play there, Mr. President. Anyone up for a fumble drill?

How can I finish without the debt crisis. Only 21 days, before the country begins to default on its debt. August 2nd is the magic day. Remembering Rob Emanuel's words now on a good crisis.......:-)

President Obama said the REP rhetoric is 'inflexible'. REP House Majority Leader Boehner again said 'no new taxes'. They have been doing this since they played golf on the issue a month ago.
Maybe we should not let them play on the same course, the next time. It seems that they developed a certain disliking for each other. Maybe we should ask the Chinese General......they seem to have alot invested into the debate. :-)

LOL.....there are those in South California want the S. CA to become a new state. In other words divide the state in half- North and South.

Meaning that the Northern Half of the State were the State capitol of Sacramento and San Fransico are located...would be the norther half. And could inherit much of the California debt problem. Since Sacramento is the location were most of the debt was acquired.

As well we all know when it comes to dividing debt (or divorce settlements)...seldom does become a 50/50 split. Someone is going to get the short end and someone is going to get the big end. Earlier days on non political correctness those were the short shaft and the long shaft. And many fingers are crossed as the judge made his decision to who got what.

But image CA trying to divide its billions in debt between two governments? Talk about a lawyer's bonansa or night mare. The amount of legal billing and court cases to be filed on this.....are also in the infinite numbers.

CA has some issue....says my Valley Girl (friends).:-) Like every citizens in the state owes $10,019 to the cover the state's debt.It has 2,210,000 unemployed. And 3,790,100 drawing food stamps. That is small country that is unemployed and another that is not paying taxes.

Trying to divide CA right down the middle....seems just little far fetched to me. So how would this work? If NCA has 1,000,000 unemployed and SCA has 1,210,000 unemployed.....so SCA sends NCA
105,000 unemployed to balance out the two?:-)

Image Nancy Pelosi and the liberal left of CA getting into this one. Shucks even the CA march mice will need to be divided evenly and fairly. Sadly splitting march mice families as they do. :-) Or when the Jon Stewart and the other talk hosts get done...Gov. Brown is going to wish to be in other State on the east coast.

Then of course, when NCA does not want SCA illegal aliens traveling north.....they can build a fence down the middle of the state. Opps Nancy Pelosi would never allow that. We all know that. She support the open cities of NCA. Maybe SCA wants the

Pro Assad Syrians attacked the US and French embassies in Damascus.
They were able to enter the compound at both, as Syrian police and military refused to stop them. At the French embassy ....security ....likely the French Foreign Legion fired shots over head of the rioters to disperse them.

While at the US Embassy, rioters were able to break windows and destroy the outer ground before Marines were able to disband them.
No word on how the Marine accomplished this. Can anyone say a whole lot of non lethals were likely used.

No staff at either embassy were injured or kidnapped. No word on Syrian civilian injuries.

The rioters were sparked by a pro Assad TV station in Damascus that denounced the US Ambassador Ford trip to Hama were the the Syrian army in mounting operations on the Assad opposition. They are calling for Ford to be removed from the country.

While here in the US, the Syrian embassy has been filming the anti Assad demonstrator that have been doing peaceful protest against Assad.

Hillary Clinton is to file a formal protest to the Syrian government for not protecting the embassy in Damascus. Ambassador Ford has been called to the Syrian Prime Minstier office for a rebuke on his trip to Hama and his use of Twitter to support the rebells.

Maybe we can have 240 days embassy hostage seige in Syria.... It has happened once before, you know........Obama will make a weapon trade to get their release.

I vote Dude (in the place of Ollie North)to carry the US weapons to ummmmm....Libya and Qdaffi..... to secure the release of US Syrian Embassy staffers and Marines. You would gladly help President Obama and these Americans in their time of need. Yes, Dude?

The spend spend spend mentality of the President comes thru again.

The GOP has asked for the "Balanced Budget Amendment" be placed into the Constitution. So that future American governments don't get the car moving to the economic cliff that Obama has driven to.

Within 24 hours of this proposal submission.....the White House rejected the proposal off hand...saying "the US debt crisis is not a Constitutional issue."

Well?

The founding father did make the House the approriation body of the government. Having Constitutional amendments to give them guidance, seems to make allot of sense. The founding fathers in the Constitution did address the need to raise funds for a army and other government functions.

So?

This is a White House that does not want any kind of regulatory control on its activities. It is fine to for the Obama CZARs to control Wall Street, the Bond Market, the Car Industry, etc etc etc. But please don't try to reign Obama's government in. Pacos Bill could not reign in this government in on spending.

It is taking the White House freedom away. Hmmmmmmmm...........

The REP reply to the White House position on the Balanced Budget Amendement.....it is that people have a right to enact a Constitutional amendments. The document does start with "We the people in order to ...."

Seems REP think that they have enough support in mainland America to get the Balanced Budget Amendment.....shall we see soon, in the 2012? How about a national vote on it?

President Obmaa is trying to regain his lost approvals with the hispanic oommunity. Since Dec 2009 it has fallen from 73% to 52%.

So he uses the White House for his private political conference room. He invited a hispanic advocacy group to a meeting in the White House. Like he invite the Muslim for a lunch.

Why am I critical here? We all know that WH George Washington bedroom has been sold to the highest bidder for over night stays.
Nothing like making the White House into a B(read) and B(reakfast).

Well dog gone it. It is the White House. The British burned it to the ground. Washington hung his oil painting there. And Mrs Adams risked her life to get it out. And modern executive officers use it like some political back drop to a campaign ad.
Bring in the next voting block advocacy group for some hand holding and smootching.

Here Lincoln stayed up all night wondering if at Gettysburg the Union was preserved against Lee's confederate invasion. Here FDR planned the making of the atomic bombs and Truman decided to use them. Yet our leaders (both REP and DEM) treat the White House like it their personal chattel.

It was here the Teddy Roosevelt made the 1000s of acres national Parks and wildlife sanctuaries. It was here that President Grant ordered Gen Custer to visit the little Big Horn river to see if hostile Indians were there.

It was here that Lincoln spoke to American people that the Union had been preserved on the bloody fields of Gettysburg. It was from here that FDR gave his soothing radio addresses to a country that was at war on many fronts. It was from here that LBJ announced the great society. Kennedy said we are going to the moon.

Reagon slept :-) in meetings and made decisions to break apart the Communist Russia. That George Bush Senior made the decision to retake Kuwait from Iraq.

So the White House is more than a political jingle or political video back drop to a campaign ad. It is the history of the country wrapped up into one building and one residence. And when a President ...REP or DEM ...makes it into his personal campaign reelection facility....he/she insults the people that sent him/her there in the first place.

Obama could have these meeting with various groups outside the White House in either Government conference facilities or public conference of Washington. When my father's WWII military unit had a DC reunion, they did not get a invite from Bush administration to come to the White House. Rather VP Cheney came to their hotel conference center to address them at a diner party.

They are saying Sunday was the big meeting on the debt ceiling decision.

I just heard a majority whip of the Senate REP Senator McConnel say.."it was never about holding the debt ceiling to a certain limit. But rather holding the administration accountable."

So me thinks we are soon to have a debt ceiling increase. The Rhino REP are getting ready to agree to a increase. McConnel is doing a lunar moon walk to step back on the issue.

Ah well so much for the 35% tax base for the county.

Back in 2009,President Obama began to attend his Camp David services on a frequent basis. Caplain Cash....said he beleived.....'a wall of angles protected the US military as they entered Baghdad in 2003'. Also he said that Islam is a violent faith in a 2004 book he wrote on his Iraq experiences. Gosh that sounds like GWB in some ways.

See I said REV Sharpton and Jesse Jackson want to be the political foils for President Obama in the 2012. I did not say that Obama has approved this racial political ploy. Sharpton would love to have President Obama attending his church services and have this role as a racial foil. But he has not attended. He has been in office were he has seen white, black, hispanic and asian die for this country. With that the case, how can the insulting racial words of REV Wright and Sharpton have any real meaning for him? Or you telling us that Sharpton is more honorable than the nose hair of a REP?

The President is growing and learning, Dude. And liberals cannot stop it. And that scares them to no end. He is beginning to look for real equality and human rights. Not the junkie liberal rhetoric from the Sharptons, Jacksons and Huffington post of the world. Think about what he said on Libya, Dude. How many liberals back him on Libya? The night talks show thought they hearing and seeing GWB reincarnated when he went after Qdaffi. Seems our President has seen new light and way.

Well REV Martin Luther King was a honorable American. He stood for the country and his people. REV Wright, Jesse Jackson and REV Sharpton stand for race baiting the country into divisions for political gain. Sharpton and Jackson will be Obama foils for the 2012.

But they tipped their hand very early in this contest, Dude. That is how much support Obama has lost in both the white and black communities.

You cannot call his quote a lie, even though it is demeaning to your white European forefathers. Which does say a lot.

By the way.....Herman Cain does not need foils to play the race card for him. He has crossed the race divide. Just like REV Martin Luther King did. So it can be done.

For us mere mental mortals, GACryptic...I totally agree that UofF or UGA or Univ of CA are all solid institution of higher learning. But we need to remember we are dealing with Washington here in the thread.

There the Ivy League....with its vastly superior educations for the mentally gifted of HARvard, PRINCEton, YAle (said much like Ya'll come back ya here):-), COLumbia, and BROwn.....take the top honors in the employing grads and getting Gov't grants. Of course put them on the football field with a UGS and they fold like a wet suit on a rainy day. But hey that is a mental gifted for you. They know when it is raining. And time to fold like a wet suit. UGS is tough on the football field. GO DAWGs.......so are the Gator. Go Gators.....

See you would never get Ivy League school to call itself the DAWGs or Gators. That is by far to common and base for the them. So you get......the Bears, the Quakers, the Big Green, the Big Red, the Tigers, the Lions, and the Bulldogs....school nicknames that are so politically correct that you can attend a game and never wake when they do a student cheer. Which is seldom. They do have noise regulalions on Saturday. :-)

Go to a Gator or DAWG game and try to sleep. Some frenzied fan doing the Gator Bite or the DAWG howl will surely wake you. Indeed they will be insulted because you closed your eyes. Attending a Ivy League game....it is best to close your eyes. It is normally painfully brutal out there in Ivy League game were the Geeks are playing the Greeks.

I know I did not address the Congressional question raised in your post. But take a look at the number of Congressmen and Senator that attended Ivy League schools....and you will understand why Congress has a approval rating near to a grasshopper...and why they can consider such cuts in medicare and social security. The simple fact is these are wealthy individuals that can afford Ivy League schools and they don't need medicare and social security.

It did not take Pakistan long to send a message on that $800m reduction in aid that the Obama administration decided on.

That and a NY Times report that General Abbas (head of the Pakistani Military) considers a threat to Pakistan National Security. Like the NY Times ever got anything right enough, General to be a National Security Threat to anyone!
But to it credit, the NY Times did ask for the head of the ISI to resign. Hence the Pakistani anger at the NYTimes.

But the Times quoting...unnamed US government officials ..:-)....
are basically saying that the Pakistani Military and the ISI (Pakistani Intelligence Service)...like they knew bin Laden was in the country....says the California Valley Girl.
Well douh. This is of course is a grave national security threat to Pakistan. Yikes General it is the NYTimes, no one here reads it.

We just found out what Pakistan hiding bin Laden for the last 10 years was going to cost Pakistan in US Aid.....the number is please....................$800m

Yeap......................after hosting bin Laden for 10 year, bringing an estimate 4-6 billions into the country in aid per year and lost $800m when he is caught. What a deal! Most all Islamic countries will be soon making their own versions of bin Laden.

After Pakistan shuts down a air base to US UAV operation. Complains to the high heavens about national soverniety violation during the bin Laden raid. Has citizens placing bountys on all dead Americans. And makes bin Laden a national mryatdor.

All this administration can do.....is reduce its 6b in foreign aid by $800m. I guess old John Kerry was really effective in his meeting with the Pakistani after the bin Laden raid. It had to go something like this.

Kerry to Pakistan President......"We finally got bin Laden for us. The Pakistani that he has been killing for the last 10 year have been revenged. He has been a real problem for both of our countries since 911."

The Pakistani President to John Kerry....."Well yes, but many here liked bin Laden. He was a up standing citizen and a father figure to many of our youth. He had 12 children, you know."

Pakistani President...."But I do see repercussion coming from this. Many Pakistani feel that you cheated them from getting bin Laden themselves. All you had to do was to tell me, were he was and I would have sent the Army to get him. You know."

Kerry......"What?"

Pakistani President...."I can make the repercussion waves go away for......say.....$1b. I know how President Obama likes smooth sailing of his ship the USS America."

Kerry......."What the frig?"

With the $800m being taken away from his aid package. I suspect the Pakistani President will soon be making tidal size waves for the USS America.

Sounds like one of the best reasons for not going for a European socialist economic model, that one can think of. The simple fact hat today Europe is paying 2 to 4 times the US amount for basics like gas and food, is a indication of the failure of your socialized economic models.

Economists are now saying that this is weakest recovery since 1948. They are the brave ones or the ones on the Obama staff that still use the word 'recovery'. Many economist no longer use the term.

One said.....'we have painted ourselves into a corner by lower the interest rate to near zero and by taking the debt to the very limit of the ceiling.'

What a understatement that is.

Has anyone connected that the White House Czars might have something to do with with the sluggish economic recovery?

Go back to Communist Russia for a moment. Were the economy was planned to the minute detailed. Or was attempted to be planned down to the minute detail by the various economic committees. Here that 4 year growth plan or that detailed economic study was vital to mother Russia's economy.

As spending for the military and government increased over the years. Eating up more and more of the Russia GNP. These economic committees struggled for more economic control and resources. Internal conflicts within the house of cards began. Side were taken. And then Reagon did SDI and the Russian could not match it. The house of cards began to fall a part. Then when Clinton was in office. The side began to shot at each other. The break up of Russia was a violent one over economics.

So? What do you think that these economic czars are doing in this slow and sluggish recovery of the US Economy?

They are struggling and fighting within the administration to get more resources for their industry or area of activity. Trying to get their critical and vital programs for their industry or economic area funded. Eating up more and more of the FED Tax revenues. By? By using more and more studies of the complex economic issues facing the country. For more detailed planning of their industry or activity. In other words, doing exactly what the Russians did, when their economic house fell apart.

President Obama and his 32 Czars have taken the country to the brink of economic collapse. By so changing the free market enterprise system that the country was founded on and that the people understood.... changed to be in a communist/socialist model. When President Obama went after healthcare (1/6th of the countries economy) with a socialized plan of government managed healthcare. That is when this road to the economic brink began. The car might have been in the ditch, but it did not need to be driven to the edge of the cliff.

His stimulus of 900b failed to increase employment and to recover the country because it was directed by these CZARs, into their own personal economic areas of interest. Now that there is no more stimulus, they don't know what to do. Other than to study the 'complex issues'. That is because as academics, that it basically all they have ever done. Study the 'complex issues.'
They simply forgot the private and small business sectors in the
stimulus. Neither were their personal economic area of interest.
Hence the Chamber of Commerce does not need to be invited to the economic summit.

The question is now. With the President holding the country at ransom. 'Give me my debt limit increase or else'. Does President Obama push the car off the cliff? If he does not get his precious debt limit raised in a few days. Does he close down the FED government as was done in Minnasota? Does he kill the United State triple AAA bond rating? Does he end the US Dollar as the world's currency? Does he so divide the country along eocnomic lines, that one day the United States will have its own violent break up? All these can be considered off the cliff economic moves by our President.

Like the President would not do it to get the ceiling raised on the debt limit. He just place Social Security and Medicare on the
table in the debt talks.
