Just checked out Ken Deffeyses new book. "When Oil Peaked"

I wanted to see what he says about Shale oil and Cracking.

If you do not remember Mr. Deffeyses, he is the geologist that predicted that the world's oil reserve would be consumed and that the future for the fuel was limited. It might be noted, he was a geologist for Shell oil when that was written.. Just maybe Shell benefits from the world considering oil supplies to be limited.

But to cut the chase. He stills maintain his position that the country will have a shortage. Even in light of the shale oil developments and fracking of oil wells.

So? Not sure if he is seeing the data on Shale oil that I am.
He admits that the US has vast shale fields. But thinks that they will provide a 50 year supply.

I am seeing numbers for much longer supply than that. But to quote him.

Mr. Deffeyes, on page 107 "Once you know that oil source rock exist, it is not difficult to find them on the ordinary well logs. The primary indication is the resistance of the rock to the flow of electricity. During the early 1920s, downloads electrical resistance measurement were one of the foundations that Pierre and Marcel Schlemberger used to build their company.
What a stack of ordinary shale, the oil source rocks stand out as having higher electrical resistance. A secondary help comes from a downhole radiation counter. Typically, a few parts per million of uranium are found in organic-rich source rock. The
uranium is there because the oxygen-poor environoment that preserved the organic matter also reduces water-soluble oxidzed uranium into an insoluble form.

As the map on page 102 shows, there are about twenty areas being actively explored for shale gas in the US. Halliburton estimates that total recoverable shale might be one thousand trillion cubic feet, equivalent to a fifty-year supply at our present usage rate. Gas from coal beds and shale gas represent a game changing opportunity. It won't fully solve our energy problems, but it could be a important help."

In looking at the map of located Shale oil....it is interesting to note that the following states are nearly completely underground shale oil fields. They are Michigan, Pennesylvia, New York, West Virgina. Texas is about 1/3 shale oil field. Ohio is about 1/2 Shale oil.

So far smaller find sof shale oil in Montana and the Dakotas have driven their economy into having some of the lowest unemployment figures in the country. Wyoming has significant shale oil fields in it. Smaller fields in Colorado and Utah exits. As in Missouri, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Lousiana, Mississippi, Alabama.

And I heard of finds in California that he is not showing.

Deffenes also says on page 102. "Mature oil source rocks, those that have already delivered their oil are a new and important source of natural gas. An old-fashion land rush developed to lease potentially productive areas. However, the wells are so expensive that low natural-gas prices counld make much of the area uneconomic to drill."

So we start to see the environomentist response to shale oil in Deffeyese words here. They are costly to drill(will not take down the pump price). There will be a land rush (fear mongering). It will only last for 50 years.(limit supply)

But it is a "game changing" opportunity. Nothing like talking both side of the mouth at the same time.

So my thinking? Shale oil is spread across the country. So it is already near to the markets. It needs to be refined and stored locally to give a low cost and longer term fuel source. Cost of delivery is minimized then. Helping to control the price at the pump.

Some states can easily be shale oil exporters. They have vast fields of shale oil. Fracking technology improvements in the future will reduce the production cost and increased production. Increased production when combined with our reducing consumption will reduce the number of needed wells and extend the life of the energy source.

I think that these were local civilian criminal charges that placed on him. That is why his name not making the media was so much in question to me.

But I do think that his days as Marine are limited. Putting holes in the Pentagon or the Marine Recruiter office might be the wish of every Marine at some point in his career. But most find a way to handle the fustration of the career service.

I think that I know why the left in Chicago wanted the summer games. Romney ran the Winter game in Salt Lake city. He made profit with it and took over when it was about to financially fail.

So?

The Chicago games was to be the left version of this. President Obama goes to Europe.....to get the games for his home town....Rob Emanuel goes to the Chicago and becomes the mayor....and runs the summer game to a success. Taking the sting from Romney's leading the Olympic games in Salt Lake City.

It was politics....as usual.

Dude, I get arrested here on felony charges. My photo and my name just made the morning papers. This Muslim Marine.....is caught with explosives and weapons and has fired them at various buildings (including windows and at the people behind them) in the DC area......and they cannot say his name? Cannot place his pic in the media?

Clearly this is because because he is a Muslim. That is the Obama's political correctness is keeping him from being identified or placed into the media.

All the time, young marines are suspects for his crimes. Obama and the media failed his men. Failed to clear them of the suspicion, when they could have.

This Muslim Marine showed himself at the shooting incidents in a Marine Corp uniform. That was done on purpose to demean the honor of Corp. To cause distrust of and within the Corp. The Corp takes that very seriously. So should President Obama.

Why don't you say that the complete and honestway. Or. Obama promised to give Americans the same health care plan that European policians have enjoyed for years.

We are not a copy of Europe. Why is that so hard to understand?
What is good for Europe. Does not mean it is good for the US.
You like high taxes....hey great pay high taxes. I have no problem with it.

But give me a choice between a low tax rate (meaning more disposable income that I can spend) and high tax rate and less disposable income....I choose the first. Why?

It means more things (vacations) I can do with my family. Better food to eat. Better housing. Newer cars to drive and more frequently. In other words a better quality of life. It mean more savings for retirement. More to invest in a busienss or real estate. And a freer life. I choose my vacation. I can choose these other things when I have the income to do so.

Obama wants first to tax the wealthy. But one thing we have learned in the US.....politicians will soon tax were ever the income and money is. If it is with the middle class....they will soon tax the middle class.

I think that we (tax payers) should pay (tax) the government according to how well it governs. We can take a poll to the value of the Obama administration. Anyone thing that it worth 14trillion in debt? Please raisee your hand now.

But the point is this. Many now are starting to call Obama the 'international president'. Or the 'European president'. He has lost touch with the American people. Another way to say that.....
he no longer represents the interest of the American people.

Consider Libya. It was some "international parties" that advised him to intercede in Libya.

Consider Obamacare. Obamcare is a socialized health care program straight from Europe.

Consider the Cairo Address. It was for the consumption of 1b Muslims around the world.

We can on here. But it is simple....President Obama ways of governance....is pretty not much in American values and principles. He knows the Constitution well enough to know that he signs the bills passes by Congress and what his POTUS duties are. But that is as far as it gets.

This is what happens when you have a really big big government.

You lose control and command of the lower level of the agencies.

This is the story of the ATF's "Fast and Furious" program. What is 'Fast and Furious'? Fast and Furious is program to give or sell guns to low level cartel drug runners on the Mexico/US border.

With the idea, that the government could track the weapons to high level cartel leadership to make arrest and take downs.

What went wrong?

Two of the weapons were used as throw aways near the killing of a Border Agent Terry. Other ATF traded guns are being found in the crimes and shooting in North Mexico.

In other words. Criminals were using their new guns for crimes. The AFT never got a chance to track them back to high level cartel leaders.

Mexico FEDERALLIES and Government is none to happy with the US Gov't and the ATF on the Fast and Furious program. They don't like getting shot at.

To all this the ATF Director Kenneth Melson.....today says .....
I was sick to my stomache and did not know that the Fast and Furious program was going on. He has demoted the agents responsible.

Also DOJ just put a no talk order on him.....so that is the end of the press conference and more details.

The ATF is not a big agency. But Director Melson does not know that it has a giveway gun program going on? Anyone wish to believe that....I do have some Florida land. Melson that there was a long list of documents that he know has seen on the program. Gee was someone...anyone in his office reading the reports and operation files?

Seems to me...that the one that needs demotion here. Is at the top of ATF.

Pretty simple Dude. Open and transperent means just that. The Administration should go ahead give the guys name and religious affliation. The media should go ahead and print it up. In other words....be honest.

Let the chips fall were they might. Trying to kick them around for some political goal to appease and protect Islam...is nuts. WE are not going to make them happy by lieing, covering or always apologizing to them.

The entire Marine Corp was effected by this one man's acts. Obama owes it to the Marine Corp....his Marine Corp that is placing their lives on the line for him...and the country to clear them of the suspicion of these shootings.

Tehran.....just hosted the First International Conference on the Global Fight against Terrorism. Now with Iran being considered the biggest host of Islamic terrorism in the world....one would think that most would see this as pure polics and avoid teh conference.

Wrong. 60 Attended....including a special envoy from the UN Sect General Ban Ki-moon. But also in attendance were Hamas, Hezbolloh, Pakistan, Iraq, AFghanistan, Nkorean and Cuba. Like All these parties that have resisted terrorism for so many years (if ever). I am surprised the the Taliban were not invited.

Funny how in the conference the world's great terrorists were suddenly flying the Star and Stripes and Star of David on their flags. Like "for sure" as a California Valley girl might say.

Like this has nothing to do with "911 v Iran" court case in a New York Federal court. In which even the California Valley girl is going to clearly see the evidence of a Iran that is complicit in the 911 attack on the United States.

Nor does the Conference timing have anything to do with the bin Laden raid and death. Not that Iran and Pakistan did not know of his were abouts. Iran just has 5 of his immediate family in house arrest in Tehran. Like they would never tell.

Maybe his 4 sons attended the conference and spoke about how
the US violated his human rights with the raid. And from

Newt Grinrich is saying that the Obama administraion is losing its terrorist message to Tehran at this point. Wrong Newt, Obama gave away the terrorist message back at Cairo. Has been giving it away ever since. The bin Laden raid was purely accidental. It was at the request of General Petreuas, who asked for covert operation in AO.

So if this Tehran message sticks.....during the Obama administration watch....the US and Israel will have become the world's biggest terrorist states. And our glorious leader.....and our media.....never said a thing in our defense.

We saw how well Obama vision for out economy went. Why should we trust his judgement on our healthcare?

All Obama care is wealth redistribution under a different guise anyways. The 40% that don't pay taxes pick up a new government benefit that the 60% that do pay tax pay don't.

Obamacare lost me when it could not pay for special needs kids. Here the 40% that did not pay taxes were getting a new benefit, but the special need kids.....that really need health coverage and more benefits were iced out of the program. Dear old Teddy Kennedy that on his death bed wrote Obamacare. Must have rolled over in his grave when Special Need kids were excluded.

Remember the Kennedy family has supported the Special Olympics for years and years. But a Kennedy written bill on health care excludes them? Give me a break.

Then you have Obamacare taking $500b from senior citizen medicare. That really work in a greying country. In States like FL and AZ with high numbers of elderly. What do the liberal take the elderly for? Being dumbest in the class? Sorry Dude, but every elderly in the country sees that Obama was just tapping his medical benefits to give to give the 40% non taxiing paying citizen of the country.

If Obama cared about the elderly in the country with Obamacare.
Again it is a reason to support it. But he when takes 500b
from their benefits, he acting against their best interest.

Obama care is good for Obama's voting block of youth and non taxer in the country. But for special needs kids, elderly, small business, and self employed it stinks.

So this was just a campaign promise for part of the country. Much of it has been made unconstitutional. It showed how a DEM controlled government played politics in Washington....with back room deals, trades and special clauses in the bill. All showing the DEM can rationalize fairness to a degree ....were it is twisted out of any kind of shape or form.

Dude returning to it......wants just to avoid the real issues of the coming 2012.

Often the government has gotten very generous with the American passport. I remember under the Bush Senior administration for a minority investment in a American that employed 18 people in the country, the investor got 2 American passport to travel to and from the country with.
