Friedman was a smart cookie. But at least under FDR version of Social Security was wrong. As long as you have a trust fund account establish, even the interest is paid into the account.

Sure you have some brokerage account that Social Security uses to acquire the bond and stock in the Social Security portfolio. Here only a commission is paid. And if the brokerage house bumps the commission to high, the Social Security Board can simply find another brokerage house.

Now.....when Carter and company place the Social Security funds in the the General Fund....large government contracts could and are written on the funds. The wealthy do prosper when the money goes into the General Fund.

I find that this click thru really interesting. It come out in the form of a pdf file. Not a direct link to facebook. PDFs are so easy to make.

But then when you read someone the things on the Breivik PDF facebook pages.....they open a number of questions. Like what is a Norwegian doing attending a school in India or Australia for his secondary education?

I did a search of his college....MPSC.....and found a MSCP in India and found a MSCP in Australia. Then neither offered the course work in finance that Breivik lists in the facebook pdf. Nor do they offer the any course work in religion that he notes. I found that strange.

But I did not find a MPSC in Norway. I did a hasty search, so maybe it there one. Can others assist here?

Then when you read the PDF file. You note that only 4 and 5 days prior to the Oslo events, Breivik spent hours on the computer filling out items (mostly on classical music) on his facebook account. You would think that he might be using that time to plan and prep for this deadly attack. But no he is on the computer and not saying a word about his coming activities on the 22nd.

Ain't that interesting?

Let us talk some of the history of the Social Security Card and Social System system. Hang on to your liberal hats . Because wind of this post might blow them away.

First the card.

The Social Security card was never intended to be a method of identification. In fact the first social security cards issues carried the words "Not to be used for identification".

It seems that SS passing DEMs of FDR time wanted the states to handle the issue of proper identification of persons by use of the state issued driver license. Please think AZ immigration law at this point.

Secondly, the Social Security System

FDR first had a "voluntary Social Security System"

Yes, you had the choice to opt out of it with your or with no retirement program at all. FDR was a strong believer in individual rights and freedoms. He was not going to force the SS onto the entire country.....which was to come later.

Third, the amount.

Under FDR, those opting for SS payment would pay 1% of their first $1400 annual incomes into the program. Today that is
a required payment of 7.65% of the first $90,000 of your annual income.

Fourth, it was tax deductible.

Under FDR that contribution to SS was tax deductible. Today it is not.

Fifth, it was placed into a Social Security Trust fund, solely to be used for SS payments.

Under FDR a special Social Security trust fund was made. SS payment entered into the found, they were reinvested and the only outgoing payment to SS claims.

LBJ and the DEM changed this so that SS payments went into the General Fund of the government. From here it could be spent for government bills and operations.

Sixth, Under FDR the annunities of the retirees could never be taxed.

FDR set the SS program up that it was non taxable income to American retirees.

Clinton/Gore changed that so that it is now taxable income no matter what your status. Today retirees are finding that money they paid into FICA is taxable income.

Seventh, Under FDR, only full American citizens had a right to claim SS benefits.

He knew the difference from immigrant and illegal alien, and said only Americans should benefit from Social SEcurity.

It was Jimmy Carter and DEM congress that passed legislation that allowed immigrants over the age of 65 to collect Social Security benefits even though many had not paid a dime into the fund.

Any questions why REP and Tea Party think that the present Social Security system should be restructured? Please note, I did not say ended or privatized. But privatization is one option that should be considered to improve the mess that DEM have made of the original FDR concept of Social Security.

The 40% were able to use the system enough to get the no interest bank loans for homes with no documenation, Dude. The 40% are getting government benefits like food stamps and free medical. The 40% are just a terrorist target as the guy sitting in his exec office.

So they have been getting government benefits. They just don't want to pay (tax) for them. Rather they are using their vote to keep the President locked into a unfair and narrow tax base.

These people work and have resources. It is not like they don't have any income. But they do have a President that is going to spend and spend.

Speaking of negotations. The Obama White House might have really dropped the ball on the middle east peace talks. I mean one of those fumbles that is more than a game changer, but a game breaker.

This coming from King Abdulla II book....OK. Here is the story the Jordan King paints.

The Arab League has agreed to the two state solution with Isreal and Palestine. That if Israel can be brought to the table and sign the agreement, then it would be peace with all Muslim countries in the region. With the exception of Iran. All Israel had to do was accept the Arab Peace Intiative. All Obama had to do was to get Isreal to do that.

OK got that?

The Isreali and Netanhyu are building the Jewish settlement on
the east Jersalum region. This is a real sticking point in the talks. Netanhyu agrees to a temporary cessation of the settle construction. And asks for face to face talks with Abbas.

At this point, this is were the Obama administration starts to drop the ball. They turn to Egypt (then run by Mubarrak) and to Jordan and ask them to host the face to face talks of Netanhyu/Abbas.

Both decline. Seeing that who ever host them, owns them. In other words is responsible for the outcome. Which was exactly what the Obama administration saw. Hence they asked Egypt and Jordan to do the hosting.

So with that out the door. Washington hosts a brief number of face to face of Netanhyu/Abbas talk. Soon it breaks down over the settlements. Then Washington goes to proxie party talk and shuttle diplomacy by Mitchell.

But all the time,or Netanhyu of Isreal is asking for face to face talks with Abbas. First the Muslim parties are in agreement with the proxie talks. Then even they see that face to face is needed. But does Washington come back to offer face to face? No. The ball is really dropped and the scrum for it is starting.

Like I said, who ever host those talks, owns them. For some unknown reason Washington does not want to own these peace
talks.

To be honest. King Abdulla is very cordial with President Obama in the book. He say Obama as a man that can 'speak peace'. But he does give his take on how the middle east peace talk have crumpled.

Why don't the 40% that don't pay any tax, pick up some of the tab for a change?

We need to increase the tax base....to solve the 14.3 trillion debt, Dude. Just taxing the 2% of the people is not going to solve that kind of debt.

Remember President Obama wanted to engage NKorea alone....mano a mano? Obama vs Kim in a winner take all. NO holds bar cage debate. That is off. Hillary Clinton at the ASEAN conference said that before the US would engage in the 6 Party (US, JN, SK, CH, RU, TW) talk with NKorea, NKorea would have to demonstrate much than a willingness to engage in talks with SKorea.

Are you following that?

OK this comes after the NK and SK representatives walk arm in arm into the ASEAN Conference together. Opps...............they do note such little things in major international conferences. It is like going to a frat house party, to see who is talking with who to see who is sleeping with who.

One month they are shelling each other and the next month they are kissy face and huggy body. No wonder Hillary is getting out of international diplomacy. She cannot take the emotional roller coaster ride, the swift changing currents, and the murky depths that you can fall into.

Hillary got down right terrorial and very colonial powered over this. By saying....'that the US is a resident power in the region'. Anyone wish to debate that Washington is seeing the far east slip from their sphere of influence at this time? The last time I read words like that was when England was sending troops to India and Africa to protect the British empire.

Hillary came to the conference with road map to solve the contested South China Sea. China presently sees this body of salt water as a personal lake. Apparently some rub and bump naval tactics have been going on in the area. As the Phillipine and VetNam, both complained of China vessels harassing theirs crews and vessels. Bring out the grey paint, fellows and bang that gunwall on the hull out.

new US 'hard line position' on NKorea and China. To that I

The President and House majority Leader Boehner had a debt meeting today at 11am. Media here is saying Boehner 'walked out' of the meeting.

Boehner says he cannot get any compromises from the President and is turning to work with the Senate to 'find a path forward'.

The President condemned Boehner's decision to leave and called for a emergency meeting of other government official to find out what can be done now.

How about ?

Why do we place into Washington petulant people in government office? We should require mental tests for stability under pressure before anyone gets the keys to Washington. We do it for astronauts before they got the keys to the Shuttle. Why not government elected?

This was the final was day that the House could prepare and pass a bill on the debt ceiling before the Aug 2nd deadline on the default. So while this has been good a media show for the last 4 months, it clearly shows how broken Washington is.

Like figure it out. You spent it. You print it. You sell it. You need it to run the government. The it of course is money. And you have a ton of it sitting in Fort Knox. Sell some on the precious metal market. If you have not noticed the price of precious metals is very high right now.

With global market reacting, bond valuations woobling, banking cringing, and the people in the country being polled with the question 'is this worse Congress ever'? Confidence in this government is reaching for a all time low. And with the President's approvals also falling.....

WE gorge ourselves on the murder trail of one woman (Casey Anthony). While in Washington, our elected are either stoned face to the debt crisis. Or they are floobing around like the Great White that jump aboard the boat. Get er done, Gentlemen. So we the people are all to blame here as well. We took our attention off of you. Believe me, when I say very few of us trust you any more.

The American people are tired of your gaming for media over political issues of great and small for your personal media moment. Get votes for the next election by doing what is right for the country today.

If you want the American people to be fiscally responsible, then be fiscal responsible leaders. If you want Wall Street and Big Business to be fiscally responsible, then put together a fiscally responsible government. Be leaders and show us how it is done.

We had our 4 hurricane summer in Florida a while back. I am prediciting that President Obama is in for a 6 cane summer in 2012.

Here is what he has going on in 2012, besides his run for reelection.

-The Iraq and Afghan withdrawal while alQeada has regrouped from bin Laden's death

-The Iran nuclear developments that have yet to be diplomatically resolved

-If the debt ceiling is a limited and short term fix, he has the debt crisis coming back at him in 2012.

-The continued Constitutionality question of Obamacare in the courts

-A economy that floundering with lack of jobs and little GNP growth.

-A revitalizing Russia and China on the world scene.

I see a perfect storm coming.....................

Washington Washington Washington!

Does the world need super tankers to carry crude around the globe? Only if you like to drive, yes?

Guess who had two super tankers and decided not to sell them into commercial service. But rather gives a foreign party a dismantling contract of $10m to cut apart these $300m dollar vessels?

Now.....remember the SKoreans came over here with the Whale during the BP oil release in the Gulf. So there are things that you can do commercially with big ships like super tanker. Rent one out for Mel Gibson movie is another use.

So I give you the story of the USS Benjamim Isherwood and the USS Henry Eckford. Both are nearly completed US Navy Ccude carrying ships...that cost $300m to construct.

I say nearly. These were commissioned back in 1985 but never made it into service. They were called the 'ghost ships'. The DoD decides to dismantle them. Not by giving a US firm the contract......but sends them to jolly old England for decommissioning and dismantling. Yep you got it. American jobs headed to England.

But stop a moment and go back to my first thought. Why dismantle these two super tankers? Why not just sell them to some maritime crude transporter? Sure you will take a lose on the $300m invested to make them. But that saves you the $10m to dismantle them. They are brand new ships, that have never
been put to sea. But in operation they will have crews (employment)and carry millions of barrels of crude and will make money and help our BOP.

And the new policy in Washington is.....crude is bad. So the Isherwood and Eckford meet the same fate as the Space shuttles.
Well at least the Shuttles made into museums. And not the cutting torch.

We have a new pole out that says Mitt Romney has pulled even with President Obama. Both are at 45%. Also that President Obama approvals are now below 50% at 46%.

I guess you can only kill bin Laden one time. Because the only bump in the approvals that this President has had was in May with the bin Laden raid.

If you read the article sited, you can read the reporter that is in the 'Obama tank' as Barney Goldberg would say. Steve Holland of Rueters is doing back flips to keep the bad news of a Romney poll tie with Obama from being newsworthy material.

He has taken every last little positive news that the President polling has going to weave a better picture for him....in a article titled..... New Poll carries Warning for Obama in 2012.

A high school student can read those interactive NASA maps to see that greenhouse gases, water temp, snow fall, and the other aspects of the global warming arguement placed to the public by the DEM and liberal envirnomentalists is pretty much a fallacy.

Binge drinking? Has President Obama handling of the economy caused the college age and young adult to binge drinking that is occurring in the country? A recent HARvard study out that says 1 in 5 college students binge drinks today. Though this number is slightly down, with a high unemployment and little employment prospects college student have to be hard hit.

We need to remember, it was the President that encouraged students to take low income jobs. This back when gave a commencement address for graduating college students. Not to press into their career fields for high income employment.

Having nearly destroyed the American dream....of owning a home and having a life long career....President Obama certainly has to some blame for the declining emotional health of the country.

One can think of the former CIS countries that during the regimes of Stalin to Gorbecheva having sever addiction problems with vodka. To see that addiction and socialism go hand in hand is easy. For as the state dominate the man, he lose his dignity and value. The sure result in greater addictions.

The trend to smoke and drive has found a foot hold in these states. Making the road less safe for us all.

I think that the 23 states that have passed medical marijuana bills should be forced to place the infamous five leaf weed emblem on the state border signs. So those traveling in their state will have a warning that some weed smoking driver can do a T-Bone with them at a intersection.

In San Diego, one medical marijuana user has been involved in 13 traffic accidents. Law enforcement agencies are blaming medical marijuana for a increase in traffic accidents and deaths. In California, nearly 1000 traffic fatalities have been related to medical marijuana use.

When combined with prescription medication abuses, today's roads, streets and expressways are becoming unsafer by the day. As more illegal grass comes across the SW border. Likely making its way into many legal medical marijuana shops for legal resale.

The NHTSA, the Office of National Drug Control Policy and the National Institute of Drugs have started a nation wide education program to slow the spread of drug related drug accidents and deaths.
