Harry put them back to square one with only three days to go. What ever the Senate does, still has to go back to the House for reconfirmation vote. Then it still need the President signature. So I don't think that they have time to get it done.

By the way.....the Boehener bill has balanced budget admendment in it that is pretty cute. It works this way. The debt ceiling is a two step increase. So before they go to the second step.....both House ad Senate have to make a balance budget admendment for the Constitution.....and taken it to the states for approval.
Now it takes 60% in both the House and Senate to pass a Constitutional admendement. Something in this lifetime very unlikely to occur. So basically that second debt step is out of reach. A final cap on the debt limit untill a balanced budget admendment is in the Constitution.
If the Senate does not come back with a balanced budget admendment in their revised bill, it ain't going to pass in the house. This country will default. The House REP are serious. There are no more blank checks in Washington.
President Obama is taking a beating on the his approvals since the debt events of this last week. He has dropped 3 points in one poll to 40% It a recent Gallup, he is at 41%. In both they have 50% disapproving of his handling of the debt crisis. Sure Congress is getting clobbered as well. But in 2012, the Congress does not run against the President.
Drop five more point, and the US will see a new President in 2012.
Also this. In 10 states that the President narrowly one in 2008. 6 of them have him with disapprovals of 50% or more. Most of the 10 states have unemployment of over 8%. This really has the DEM 2012 re-election committee stumbling. They have to find more battle ground states to make up for these were he is running behind.
So we are starting to see a red and blue state map that does not favor the President.

Not this President. The President in the swirle of 'debt crisis' debate asks for present a 35 mpg to 57 mpg....or a jump of 21 mpg by 2017. Guess he does not want those Hummers coming back to the market anytime soon.
One has to ask why?
This MPG goal is hot button with his far left supporters. He needs them to be calling Congress to support him in the debt debate. So? Give them their MPG wish and let them clog the Congressional phone lines that being fried by the Tea Party and REP.
With the MPG goal set so, his supporters see that he is still the environment Pres that is going to stop big oil from fouling their planet. It would be nice, if they left a little for the rest of us.

In Afghan, father & son marines had a strange reunion. The son (Private) on IED road clean up detail, was traveling to the same camp his Gunnie Sergeant) Father was based. Indeed was on the radio making a call to him. When IED exploded under his vehicle.
The aft end of the vehicle was torn off the Huskie (a Type of IED sweeping vehicle). The private has back and neck injuries that are non life threatening and is medivac out of the area. Now with the reunion off, the Gunnie Sargeant get permission to helo to the hospital and visit his son.

MacDill AF Base. Tampa Florida. A civilian imposter.....well maybe ....I will let you be the decider of that....worked his way into MacDill AFB saying he was a special civilian advisor to the Special Force Commander Adm. Olson.
The civilian imposter is in reality Scott Bennett, a Army Resverist, told base housing authorities that he was on assignment with special top secret orders from Adm Olson. He was arrested with 10 weapons and 9000 round of ammo at his MacDill BAQ. Earlier he had been detained at the base gates being drunk and with weapons as he attempted to enter the highly secure facility.
The base housing officer said Bennett arrived in uniform and requested base housing...siting he had secret orders from Olson. She checked that facts and found out that no such orders exited. Bennett faces a range of charges from illegal use of a uniform to lieing to having unregistered weapons on base.

Myers actions occurred during a controversial Afghan battle of Ganjgal. Several days later, he complains to command that they called for close air support and artillery support that never came. Several Army officers were later reprimanded for falling to provide support.
Marines never leave their own behind.

Now the ___________75+ year old woman cashing them out.....gets to the last few items. Suddenly items are being sent back to the cashier and taken off the receipt. The woman has handed the cashier her food stamps. And the food stamps either did not cover the bill or the food stamps are bad. So they off load a 1/3 of a basket of groceries.
Then and this the important part.....the man pulls out his wallet....and uses a credit card to pay. The woman takes her food stamp back.
What just happened? Think about it for a moment and you will get there.
So they have credit and that means they have a job. But they are also collecting food stamps.
I come to the check out and the _________75+ yo cashier says to me...."Food stamps. If you want a job, you can find a job." Reminding much of what my anglo grand parents said to me 50 years ago about work. None of the parties ___________ were anglo.

That with budget cuts.....gets yourself into a position for keeping your AAA rating.
A ton of gold is 64,000 troy ou. A troy ou is $1625 on the market today. 1 ton of gold is $8m. 10,000 t of gold is $800b. With such a loan to collator ratio, you can raise the debt ceiling by 3.2t to 4.0t.
We all agree that a debt ceiling increase is needed. The question is does the Counties tax base act as the collatrol or something else? You issues a new kind of bond and T-bill that is backed by gold and silver, and ask for that 4 or 5 to 1 ratio as the premium payment.
Compare that to this. If we are degraded to AA....it likely means a .5 interest hike across the board. What does that mean? $400b in additional interest payment (consumer, business, and government) over the next decade.
A old banker trick. If you have a asset that is not producing revenues, use it as collatrol for your liquity. The 10000 ton of gold reserve is just sitting there and doing? Nada. Put it to use. By the way, I am not sure what the gold and silver reserve in the country is. 10000 ton could be light.
Russia seeing the lack of support in Washington for NASA and Space.
Decided to crash the International Space Station into the ocean in 2020. That is only 9 years away. Hopefully a new President will be in office and NASA will be up and running again by then.
Or else Russia will simply stop taking our astronauts to the station.
But consider why Russia wants the demise of the International Space Station? It is international made with sections from Canada, Japan, Europe, Brazil, the US and other countries. Russia hates this kind of international cooperation. It really does show how badly the USSR dropped from the world stage.
Not to mention that Russia hates the idea of a Astronaut (normally military trained) orbitting over Mother Russian every hour on the hour for months at a time. It is amazing what one can see from the Space station. The human eye strangely can pick up things in space that even the best of imagery systems miss. Movement often catch the human eye....and when that plume of smoke from a missile or rocket takes off....the human eye knows immediately what it is.
But such a ignoble end to the International Station? Just crash into the ocean? Why just plunge it into the Pacific? Nice that it misses large land masses. But why not moth ball it in orbit? To be opened at a date in the future. For launch point to the moon or mars? Ah.....now we come to the real reason.
With the Station sunk.....literally....it means that leap to the Moon or Mars has to come from earth's surface. That full gravity launch. That expensive gravity launch. It is cheaper to launch from weightless space than the gravity leaden Earth. Mother Russia wants those expensive launch contract in the future. The Space Station is a competitive vehicle to Russia's space plans.

Both parties and Houses have met to make another joint bill. Some thing is on the table and headed to him. But Obama is going to veto it or stall it. That AAA rating does not matter to him. But that price of gold does.

26th to the 27th of July gold jumped $13.25 while the US stock market fell 200 points. The price 30 days ago was $1483 and today is $1625.

Why can I say that? FOX is no longer running those gold and silver ads. The gold and silver dealers have all the buyer that they can handle. Which is another reason they close the Gold and Silver OTC board. They were getting to many faulty trades.
It is so easy Dude. They have tons and tons of precious metals. They sell some of it. Instead of raising the debt level and making all Americans pay for a failing government.

I sure do.Those are union moneys, and teacher moneys, and fire fighter moneys, and police officers moneys, and small business man money, self employeed money and day labor moneys. Everyone in the country has been effected by the Social Security dump into the General Fund.
What if Cain the middle of this fiscal crisis/debate says...he will run a government without using FICA money in the General Fund. That will restore the people confidence in Social Security, yes? Think about how much he has to cut the FED government to do that?
It is likely 6-800b a year in cuts.
