Stratfor is predicting a Egyptian military overthrow of Mubarak soon.

Said that Mubarak's address left them very little real choice other than a coup.

This is another way a civil war can triggered is my thinking.

And it is interesting that none in Washington is making such a
prediction.

AZ Gov Brewer just filed a law suit against the FED gov't of the United States for failing to secure the border of AZ with Mexico and to protect the people of AZ.

The law suit has 5 case points to this.

I have been waiting for such a suit to be filed. I thought it would be under the equal and fair doctrine...that states were being supplied with more FED aid and assitance..(e.g the Fence and troops) than others.

But a case point filing is just as good.....

This is not going to get better. The Islamic terrorist leaders even with out the nuc can make the attacks more frequent and more deadly.

The START data showed in 1998 that the increase in frequency (number) and severity (casualities) mushroomed. That was 3 years prior to 911.

In asymetrical conflicts....they chose the target and method. You choose the methods of compromising them. Unless you are willing to use all methods to compromise them....you will lose people...most civilians to their attacks.

I don't place defending civilians (against terrorism) on
the same moral equivancy for a gov't. As the moral requirements of nation state wars.

It is two different kinds of conflicts.....and they should have different rules. Mainly because they don't use any rules.....

Pat, the gov't saved 10000 on the Brooklyn bridge attack with waterboarding. Why do should they be a sacrifice for international law? When the neither Taliban or alQeada are

alQeada of Iraq held 2 capture Americans soldiers for nearly 2 weeks before their tortured bodies were found. All had bones broken. Cigeratte burns. Knife wounds. A quote "The wounds were sometimes 'unnatural'."

This was done in June 20, 2006.

But we don't seem to have threads and threads of blogging on the mistreatment of Taliban/alQeada of Americans/NATO/Afghan forces.

Maybe if the US just dropped out of the Geneva Convention.....then we would fewer of these international blogs....and we could fight this conflict the way done in old Europe....with quartering

I just watch Chesapeake Energy's shale oil technology video demo at its site. One heck of a technology.

Well fracturing has been around for a long time. But nothing like this. They are fracturing the entire length of a well with explosive charges. They will allow the natrual gar or oil well
to produce much more.

They also pumb in a water/sand mix that further expands and holds the fractures open.

On high production wells...this can mean a longer life...meaning ultimately that we need fewer wells in production.

The technology was developed solely for shale deposits.

President Obama is a "likable" man. He is very congenial. And very easy to like. Americans like to be liked. And they like to think that best about a gov't leader.

The way I see the 2008 vote...was it was a personality contest.
On one hand you had a very likeable man and other the other hand you had a nasty Vet Nam war veteran.

Americans went for likes and a pretty face in 2008. I doubt they make the same mistake twice.

And yes....the countries environmentalists hate to see innovations like this occur. They wold prefer to see miles and miles and miles of high plains grass doing nothing and making nothing.

But the President did call for innovations in his State of the Union. Placing him in a very acqward position. Here is a major break thru in a oil technology....one that Chesepeake can license to foreign foreign oil producer....and make shale fields in foreign countries profitable. Does he restrict the technology here, while allowing the technology go abroad?

If he does....it should tell every American that presently is paying $3 per gallon at the pump what the real WH agenda is.

Not only that! But the President is calling for a cutting in half the fund for the poverty energy program. Meaning that a lot of poor can go cold this year. While Chesepeake is pumping out bukko million of gallons of natural gas? The energy is there. No reason for these Americans to go cold next winter.

This is about the FED government cutting back its purchase of those nasty oil men's products. A pure political move by the Obama adminstration.

Also it shows how out of touch the WH is to the realities of energy technology. Here the country can be energy independant in few years.....can have enough self produced hydro carbons.....for plastics, fuel, metal, and heating...to have this economic freedom. And the WH will want us to remain a user of foreign crude.

The gov't gets a lot of tax revenue from a billions gallons of gas. They should be tickled pink that the country can be energy independant. Just because it did not come the way they planned and anticipated it to come....should no halt the development.

Yesterday President Obama had a lunch with 3 REP leaders. All came away smiling....saying the there was common ground to "work
together".

Looks like we have ourselves a two party government.

Of course this pleasant relation between the leaders....does not necessarily extend to the grass roots. Where both sides are likely trying to figure out how to undercut the other ones grass and plant mole crickets in their lawn.

In Egypt large scale work stoppages are occurring as unions walk off jobs. No major violence. But this could effect the Cario airport which is still the hub of exit flights.

I read a brief article in the NBAA said that in the first days of this....they flew 3000 Americans out of Egypt with a serise of special charter flights. Try that with your high speed rail.
As long as there are Americans wanting to globe hop....they will need aviation to support them.

Keep those V-8 boys and feel free to REV em long and loud. They have a new drilling technology for capturing shale oil in the western states. Companies are investing billions into the technology. Read that investing billions.....

If you did not know this.....but the US has a massive supply of Shale oil. Only we have not had a good method to drill it and to process it.

Looks like the President's call for innovation has paid off!
Says that the drilling technique is expected to increase US oil production by........20% over the next 5 year.

Heck fellows....we only import 12.2%. If this happens, we can export 8% and cut into the deficit and BOP.

This is going to open up million of new acres of new fields in western states.

By golly fellows....we just might be energy independent after all. Watch out alAWalki in Yemen...soon we will have a American President that can freely chase you down there....and at the middle countries that have used oil to protect alAlwalki, bin Laden and other terrorist.

Just finished watching OReilly discuss his Super Bowl interview with President Obama.

Talk about some petty liberal media types! They are going after OReilly like he stole their toys. Mather has OReilly's 'tone' being disrespectful of the President. Another liberal media has him interrupting the President....23....or 42...or ?? how many times.

This is likely the most watched Presidential interview of all times. The Super Bowl was seen by 117m Americans. And OReilly just stole the interview that every liberal dreams of.

OReilly is one of the best in his trade. Liberals media hate that. Their desire for soft milk toast news is so rampant...that there was a real fear here that OReilly would embaress the President with some tough questions. Making their marshmellow question seem obvious to the country.

Lastly when OReilly asked the Muslim Brotherhood question....President Obama dodged it like a thrown bull rider seeing the horns of Texas long horn bull that has been gledded.
