***What I am seeing here from the original post, is that this man didn't premeditate anything. His crime was reactionary with incentive from a disinhibitor, (alcohol).
#1 The article clearly statews he had been sending sgressive e-mails all day!! This is premeditaion!!
#2 Alchohol is no defense! If he was on meds...he knew not to drink alchohol. It clearly states on the bottle. I take medicine for bi-polar. I know that if I drink, it will have a negativwe effect
It is time that people take responsibility for their own actions and to quit blaming everything on an outside stimuli!
A. He knew he was bi-polar
B. He knew not to drink alchohol
C. He sent agressive e-mails all day
D. He threatened to kill himself....but chose to try and kill her, instead.
E. The threat of suicide was a cry for help....but he chose not to seek that help, but not only threw gasoline on the house, but the woman too.
Yes, he has some emotional issues, but is hardly mentally ill, to the point of being incapable of making rash decisions.
We all make judgements based on given information. What set s an intelligent person apart is that as more information becomes available, they are able to adjust their thinking.
Just because I graduated from a Christian college, does not have anything to do with my ability to work in the mental health field. If anything, compassion is taught in these school....something not always taught in other schools
I find it ironic, that you have decreed this man in insane by what YOU read!!
BTW...I did not make an assessment, I only responded to the afforded information!!
PSS....we really don't care what the Queen says in America. Your laws are not our laws. If he committed this crime in Ireland...things might be different. But he is subject to American law, not Irish law
Actually, I am a mental health counselor!! I have worked in the field for many years. My degree is from Baptist Bible College...in Pastoral Theology!!
Bi-polar people do not send messages of aggression all day to their intended victims then do them harm. They are more prone to keep silent then do themselvef harm. Read the whole article, and you will see from where i made my assessment
This is why these lists are never a good idea. I think if you admire someone, send them a mail and tell them.
People get their feelings hurt when they are not included on a list. There are so many here that I would like to tell how much I appreciate them. But to do so here would exclude too many, nit intentionally, but it would happen
I will just say that there are none on this site that I do not like or have not brought some degree of comfort and happiness to me. Or enlightenment. Some I am opposed to, on a political or religious basis. But it's their belief system that I am opposed to....not them
Thank you all for a really great two years, here on CS. Your being there has helped me through quite a bit in these two years. And right now, I am going through probably the most difficult time of all.
So...no list from me...but a heartfelt thanks to all
actually...the MODS asked me to remove my photo. They said too many people were leaving and going to another site. They said they couldn't afford to have my picture on site as they were loosing money. I keep changing my photo now, hoping to stay ahead of the MODS.
you might want to consider that this is an international dating site!!! 800 miles isn't that far!! Have you tried the stste where you are from?? Try PA forums!!
RE: This is just a horrible and sick thing this guy did. He should rot in jail. (Disturbing, warning!!)
