RE: What is the best way to stop terrorism?

And now we have another example of these cowardly tactics coming out of Iran. They threaten that if they are attacked (as if they leave everyone else alone, yeah right) they will attack the U.S. AROUND THE WORLD. That basically means to me that the cowards know that if they came at us directly, their country would be turned into a dust bowl. So, they opt for attacking our installations etc, in other countries getting the people of those countries suffering for no reason. All those innocent people that would be hurt just for being in the "wrong place". They have no problem with doing things like that, but boy are people all up in arms about their own dealing with the fall out of their actions. SCREW THAT!

RE: Leagalize marajuana?

Too harsh.

RE: I need help! Seriously, Please.

"what is being played here"
Sounds like there are some games going on. My only GUESS would be that she may have just been playing the "I'm gonna kill myself" game for sympathy.

And report the shrink to the governing body for what?

Didn't just ask these questions straight out because it might be fairly personal/private info, and didn't want to pry or anything. Just made me curious. (Bad habit of mine, curiosity.)

RE: Make a difference...get informed or help educate

I agree. Just because someone comes asking for a donation to a "charity" doesn't mean it is going toward any kind of good, or what you would consider good.

RE: If you are stranded in a deserted island, who would you wanna be with?

LOL Jeanie came in a bottle, not Samantha.rolling on the floor laughing Samantha would twitch her nose and put you in the bottle.

RE: I need help! Seriously, Please.

"I had a serious talk to the boys, and that understand what is being played here.

I reported the analyist to her governing body."

Sparked my curiosity.

RE: NO School ... WTF

When I was 13 we moved to a new town and then we had to walk over a mile to school, and yeah, my sister and I would have frozen hair by the time we got there. I remember at first worrying if it would break off LOL But that was when we were older, not such a big deal as when you are just in elementary school.

RE: Men How Do You feel About Overplucked..

Either way, thanks for the grin.applause

RE: If you are stranded in a deserted island, who would you wanna be with?

LOL Guess I am more practical than most. I would bring my friend Billy, because he can hunt, fish and build stuff.rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Expressing Your Individuality....

I never STARE, that's not polite. But I do look, usually just to see it better or something. Some things just facinate me I guess. LOL Like the time my one legged friend walked in with a prostetic (spelling?) that had a cloven hoof on it. I did a double take and looked closer to make sure I had seen what I thought I had, and then asked if it was real, but wouldn't do that to a stranger. Double take maybe, but prode them with questions, no. And I just look away if it looks so painful I have an empathetic reaction, or if I am going to laugh, and don't want to insult them or anything.
Well, with the exception of those kids who wear all the black, and are covered with tattoos and piercings. If they even see you looking past them they sometimes get defensive even thinking you were glancing at them. Then they start giving hostile looks etc. When that happens, I turn to my kid, and say loudly enough for them to hear, "Mommy says no". By now, my kid knows that means to all of it, the appearance and the attitude.

RE: How Many Good Relationships Do You know Of as Far As

I know of 3.
My daughter's Godparents, been married to each other for over 25 years and are only in their late 40s. First marriage and it took.
My father and his new lady. Not going to get married, but may as well be, and I love to see how much they both grin since they have been together, several years now.
My aunt and uncle who have been married for about 50 years.

RE: A Man's prayer...maybe

LOL And all I had to do was leave a 2 year old with their father for a few hours before he came back saying, "I don't know how you do it." rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
When I got to go back to work, I laughed out loud when people were asking if I was having a rough day due to a large workload, and told them, "Are you kidding? This is still like being on vacation for me, and I get paid for it".

RE: I need help! Seriously, Please.

1) No matter what you ex does, it is in no way your fault whether you do or don't go to counseling (who is to say how your input would affect these sessions anyway). She will be the one who makes the choice.
2) I don't know why the boys want you to go, so no clue as to whether you should or not.
3) Why in the world does this new lady even have a problem with it? She shouldn't really.
4) Make your own decisions, and don't let anyone push you into, or out of, what you think is best. I think it is wrong for anyone to "push" you either way.

RE: What is up here?

I agree, ANY head games are just immature BS.

RE: family want someone to blame!

Ok, first off, that was very hard to read. Spacing and such would have made it a lot clearer. BUT, IF I understood, you are upset at fake parents?confused

I for one no longer believe in that line about a village raising a child, because there are too many village idiots any more, and I don't want my kids thinking what they do is acceptable.

RE: This generation is divorced.

Sorry, but the original post made no sense, due to such inaccuracies, to any of us who have divorced (more than once even) parents. Mine were, and can't even really think of any of my friends who have parents that are still together. And most of them are even older than I am.

RE: Bald heads...

No thank you. Never have found any bald man attractive. But like the mechanic, it always confuses me why any guy who does have hair would shave it all off.confused

For me I think it is as much about the way I cringe wondering if their head is freezing, as what they look like. Involuntary negative reaction, because I just hate cold that much.

As far as what they feel like, wouldn't know, never touched one.

RE: What is up here?

Without any more information than that, sounds like she has an issue with your not being a big "bread winner" yet, and doesn't have the patience to wait.
IF that is the reason, I would blow this golddigger off completely. But hey, I'm just guessing.

RE: Men How Do You feel About Overplucked..

Goodness sakes Adrean, you are coming up with some silly threads lately, but very amusing.
Since I am not a man, and can only tell you what my male friends have told me, any time it has ever come up, they have all cringed and stated emphatically that they hate drawn on eyebrows. Never heard any comments on thin or anything else, they just hate the drawn on ones so much that they just go the other way and never even get to know anything more about these women.
And as far as why some pluck/wax/shave them off completely and draw in new ones with a pencil, I think, don't really KNOW, it is because the real ones don't go in the direction/line/shape that they want.

RE: Stun Gun used on Eiighteen Month Old

Thinking of that poor baby made my eyes start leaking.

Every mean thing that has been and will be said about this "man" in this thread, goes triple for me. Just can't wish anything bad enough on this "person".very mad

RE: Friendly fire video unearthed!!

Ooooops, forgot to mention, beware cardsfan, they could nominate you without your permission. I have been "drafted" into an election, and ended up winning the stupid thing. Good luck to ya', you may end up in charge whether you like it or not rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Friendly fire video unearthed!!

Gotta agree with this post. I feel the same way. As far as this story goes, IF it is true, just another sucky part of war, which is all sucky.
As far as the paper itself goes, no clue as to whether it is credible, along with a million others, so I don't even know if this is true. The media seems to be the one playing more games than Bush, if that's possible.

RE: NO School ... WTF

Thank you. And for the record, people who have kids, and then won't be real parents, are my biggest gripe of all. I have ZERO tolerances for all their lies and excuses.very mad

Yeah, a lot madder at them then at you LOLrolling on the floor laughing

Border policy’s success strains resources

Considering just how MUCH information you can find that will concur with the posts by Lioness, hard to be that skeptical of the stats in the last one. I would guess that they are fairly accurate.

But my question is, why are we supposed to give better than we get? Why are we supposed to treat them all with kid gloves when they have nothing but ill will and bad intentions (have to to completely defy our laws, customs, etc., in addition to all the crimes they commit). Sure, some will say they are just coming here to better their lives, but if that were true, they would go through the legal process instead of just blowing off the rules, as if they are "too good" to be held to the same standards as the rest of us. I just don't think they are "better" than the legal citizens.

RE: What Would You Do If The Person You Loved Gained Alot Of Weight?

I absolutely agree. Usually, when a person is pushed, they push back. LOL even my dog and I will do that. Heck, if I push him he pushes back rolling on the floor laughing
But putting him on a diet, I did it the same as I do anyone. Just bought him the "weight control" food, didn't call him a bad dog or anything.
Same as I have done with other people. You don't even need to tell them that the fried chicken was only browned in the pan, and then put in the oven over layers of paper, and finished baking in there to draw out most of the extra grease. Or that I altered other ingredients or cooking methods. If you are the one in charge of cooking for this person, you don't even really need to tell them you are putting them on a diet. About the only time it even comes up in this house is when the kid tries to dump chips or ice cream in my shopping cart. I can always just say that I don't want it in the house because I don't trust myself not to eat it. (When it comes to potato chips, it's true. Shouldn't have them but have a hard time resisting, so they aren't allowed in the house.)
A friend has a husband that the docs said should lose a few pounds. She tells me what he likes, and I revise how to make it, but make sure it still tastes ok for him.
When you DO care, it IS worth the trouble.

RE: First amendment and religion?? Your interpretation??

“The First Amendment prohibits government from establishing a religion and protects each person's right to practice (or not practice) any faith without government interference.”
Isn’t that then violated by banning any mention of Christmas and such in schools? Or by making all the kids sing songs from another religion?

“the act of hindering and or protecting any one religion brings the opposite effect on the others.”
I agree. Disallowing Christian practices, while protecting all others, does seem to have the affect of getting the Christians fed up with the double standard and resentful of the others.

And Leatherman, there is so much corruption in our legal system as it is, this doesn’t surprise me a bit. For that matter, I wouldn’t be surprised if this person were being given special treatment for any other reason, like daddy paid them to, or … And these things are hard to prove because the documentation is usually “doctored” or “lost”.

RE: Leagalize marajuana?

Sorry, but I would send you back too. Close as I can get to "dark ages" where these erroneous stereotypes about marijuana, and the people who smoke it, belong.

I say legalize.thumbs up

RE: War in Iraq propelling a massive migration

"Reverse the situation, imagine an army of Iraqis in every US city telling you that you must see the light and follow Islam."
At least I would do what I could and stand and fight for my home, not just run like a coward. I was raised to believe that if you don't stand up for yourself, no one else was going to do it for you. And I may be tiny, but I am a hell of a shot.

And I did not get the impression that the other countries are trying to force them to follow a certain religion, just to "behave" and stop killing people in general. It is all the different sects that are responsible for all the bloodshed between them. Has been going on a lot longer than our involvement has.

RE: NO School ... WTF

Firelighter - Gotta take issue with this
"back then more woman stayed home and got their kids off to school prepared them breakfast, lunch and dinner.
good point mothers are not what they where back then... "

Not all of us have forgotten that we are the ones that are fully responsible for our kids, in every way, until that 18th birthday. (Ultimately, it is the mother, even over the father, that makes the choice as to whether a kid comes into this world.) Even when I worked a 12 hour day, my kids had all their meals home cooked/prepared, homework reviewed, conduct and grades monitored, and proper school attire. Yeah, a lot are getting so lazy they want to try to lay blame on society, peer pressure, absentee fathers, and every other lame excuse, but please don't think all of us are that worthless.

RE: Epitaph

Ha! Really liked that one.
Mine would probably read:
Momma sees all now. Live in fear. You know who you are.
