Public Television

Yeah, thats it. Oh, I seen a rerun of them on the sci fi channel a month ago. I like the weird noise the police box made and the theme to the Dr. Who show. Of course, I am a sci fi nut anyways, lol.

Public Television

Yeah, thats so true but I don't I have ever been happier than I was working those kind of jobs. I used to work for Handicapped Services for the college. I got to work as a social worker to help people find work once they got out of prison. I got to be an ice cream man for a while. The kids loved me, lol. I got to drive the school bus for two years. I got work for a nursing home for a while as an orderly. I got to do volunteer work for Saint Augustine's helping to feed the hungry people who didn't have any food. I got to work for the Salvation Army two or three times. I love helping the needy that is some very rewarding work. I got to work in a halfway house for chemically addicted people. Man you really don't know how well you got it made until you get to work with people to help themselves. Just a small act of kindness and the rewards are awesome.

RE: What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a hermit and raise cashews.

Public Television

There are some shows you just can't get that come on Public Television. They had a special on Woodie Guthrie the other day.

Public Television

Yeah, I never thought of that but Oscar Maddison of the show the Odd Couple was the one with the guy who played Quincy, M.D.

Public Television

Yeah, that the one that lived in the trash can.

Public Television

Bert was awesome. Ernie was like a straight guy. I think Bert really had a friendly approach.

Public Television

My ex liked to talk to her plants. I had some friends who liked to talk to their plants, too, lol. When the plants start talking back is when you have to watch it, lol. Did ya ever watch that show, "Little House of Horrors? Feed Me, lol.

Public Television

I really enjoy public television. If I had some money I would send some to them. Probably not much depends if I had a job that paid real money, lol. I used to be a fund raiser for Saint Elizabeth Anne Seton House. I was the house manager over a house of mentally challenged adults. I would call every where. My ex taught me the fine art of guilt tripping. I had all kind of stuff in the house, lol. I would ask the clients what they wanted to eat and then I would start calling all over the city of Wichita, Kansas. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?, lol.

RE: Flowers and Emails

Great to have you back, Laurie. Was cool to see Allen to start that thread for you.

RE: Why do men have to play so many games?

Hey that is great. I am happy for you. We can go through changes on here.

RE: Why do men have to play so many games?

People who have been through divorces and have lost their spouses come here because this is connecting singles. I wasn't very playful after my divorce or when my spouse died. It is nice to be playful on here. Just because a person has been through a divorce doesn't necessarily mean they are bad. It doesn't necessarily mean they are good either. The forums can be a great playground where you can play games or however you may wish to play.

RE: Why do men have to play so many games?

Yup, I have seen this question before. This can be looked at many ways. Have fun on the forums. Welcome to where we play, chat, learn and do many things.

At what age does a girl lose her giggler?

My sonic screwdriver is broke, lol.

Public Television

Yeah, Dr. Who is so cool. I would love to have that Taurus.

Public Television

Yeah, I am jamming between them begging for money.

At what age does a girl lose her giggler?

LOL, Earl. rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Public Television

Finally something to watch on tv. John Fogherty is really jamming. Rolling on a river.

Public Television

I still don't understand how they went into that tiny telephone booth and it was so big inside, lol. I have been to a lot of yard sales but I still can't find a sonic screwdriver, lol.

Public Television

I just want them to bring back my Dr. Who, lol. I watched animusic the other night. It was so cool. It took three years to make it. Robots jamming, lol. Now I have seen it all.

Public Television

Oh, yeah, public radio is cool, too. I like the music that comes from the colleges with the college dj's. They had a Frank Zappa night. It was awesome.

Public Television

OK, they just beg three times a year with no commercials. Keep those phones ringing folks, lol. I want to watch the rest of Creedence, lmao.

Public Television

Hey, keep sending them pledges in so they will stop begging for money so I can watch it, lol. Anybody else watch Public Television because they can't afford those satellite and cable hookups?

RE: Favorite Music

John Fogherty In concert on AETN. Love Creedence Clearwater Revival. John Fogherty just got inducted into the Music Hall of Fame. Way to go, John. So many favorites of Creedence. Heard It The Grapevine is good but so are all of their music to me.

RE: Take a chance...

I like Suzy Q's. I know they are messy but they sure are good.

At what age does a girl lose her giggler?

How many giggles does it take to make a snort?

Relapse And Recovery

Thanks so much for sharing that. I wanted to run when I heard the word God because I was brought up in churches every since I was little. I had enough guilt to sink a battleship. I was asking if there was anybody besides God that I could get to help. They told me I could use the group as a higher power. They told me I use the sponsor that I got for a higher power because he had more time than me. They told me I could use the counselors. One of my counselors told me to go to outside meetings. She was dually addicted as well as her dog she said. One of my counselors was still used and dranked. I and others like me copped an attitude over it but she still helped us. Yeah I thought it was a cult, too. I thought that they were going brainwash me into thinking I was dually addicted. I am the case mentioned of some are sicker than others. I thought my first counselor in detox was a narcotics agent. I was so freaking paranoid. For the first six months I was a total basket case. I was terrified to leave Hope House for over fifteen minutes because it was my sanctuary and I got institutionalized big time. I had the shakes real bad and the awefullest nightmares. Yeah, I had the rest of what you said, too. The weirdest thing is when I found my people pleasing pleased hardly no one. They told me to be myself. I asked who in the hell is that. Then the freaking committee of my multiple personalities with multiple addictions. I remember being crouch in a corner terrified. I remember feeling like a failure because I didn't have the guts to commit suicide. Then I was given the answer why I should stay alive. I was alive to help others. I had a reason to exist. I had a purpose. I had a sense of direction. I sure was psychotic for a while though. Eventually the voices came just to be one voice. I was going to three meetings a day for a long time. I felt that at one time I was an abomination or some kind of freaking missing link. I really needed a keeper and my sponsor helped me a lot. I remember thinking I was terminally unique then I found someone like me. Oh, God, not two of me, gees. Then I felt so sorry for others because I began to understand what a real a**hole I really was thinking all the time I was a nice guy, lol. If people think I am bad now they should seen me when I was horrible.

RE: Would you date someone that is still close to there ex?

My ex and me get along great. We haven't seen each otherin a long time except in passing a while back and at my daughter's graduation. My daughter's idea not mine by the way. I try not to tempt fate because I have enough problems to deal with but that is just me. I am afraid I would lose at the game of Russian roulette, eventually.

Relapse And Recovery

A loving God as he may express himself. Our athiest and agnostic membersS accept this as a power greater than themselves. Some use the group. We had one member who accepted a piece of tile as his higher power. Recovery Services Incorporated took a hammer and chisel to pull up the tile. He took it with him and they replaced the tile.
