Have ever wondered how many taxes there are?

I can understand that. My wife worked for 27 years off and on but according to the Social Security Administration did not work enough consecutive days together to qualify for the $255.00 death benifit for her funeral expenses. She tried 3 times to qualify for disability because of her extreme rheumatory arthritis. They sent me a letter, her last lawyer, to see if I wanted to continue the case after her death. I have had to pay all of her death expenses by myself without any help from the government. Just because you pay it in taxes does not guarantee that you can draw it out later in entitlement.

Have ever wondered how many taxes there are?

I remember reading in a newspaper about a person who wrote into one of the editorials posing the question of why doesn't the government just claim bancruptcy. Do you remember Reaganomics and about the National Deficit? I remember one of the speeches about how the National Debt should be paid. Then there was the deal about all the people who lost jobs; some programs were cut and other programs lost big chunks of funding.

Thanks. Interesting stuff. I especially like the idea of nonpartisan.

Have ever wondered how many taxes there are?

They used to have a law in Texas where if you didn't pay your taxes on time that someone could pay your taxes and take your land away from you.

RE: Why is it hard to find real love, why dont men want to settle, Is it just me out here?

I think dating can drive a person to drinking. I have even heard of people who go to bars to pick up other people and have to take a big drink and order a drink for the other person to calm both their nerves. I think dating can be a form of insanity.

Have ever wondered how many taxes there are?

I know. I don't like taxes. I bet that is apparent, huh?

Have ever wondered how many taxes there are?

I have bought cigarettes where the taxes were already on the cigarettes and the store put a tax on top of that tax. Have ever wondered how many times one dollar can be taxed during its lifetime?

Have ever wondered how many taxes there are?

Has anyone here ever had to pay luxury tax?

Have ever wondered how many taxes there are?

I am not acquainted with that tax. I know there are many taxes like excise tax, export tax, income tax, county tax, state tax, federal tax, mill tax, and I just think there are a lot of taxes.

Have ever wondered how many taxes there are?

I see your point. I have recently worked jobs where the rate of pay is not included in the check. One has to do the math to see how much one is making a hour. I would think it should manditory that the rate of pay should be included. Also, some places have what they call premium pay for overtime which looks different than time and a half. I have had to compute my time before on jobs where their amount of hours that I worked differed from the hours I actually worked. When I had direct deposit it was supposed to go automatically into my checking account. The receipt portion came through the mail.

I think if the U.S. Congress had to pay for the war it approved it would alleviate the taxes that the American tax payer had to pay.

Have ever wondered how many taxes there are?

I was working this one job and I saw a city, county, state and federal deduction. If I could of talked back to the people who took it out I would have said hey I want some of my pay check.

Have ever wondered how many taxes there are?

Laurie, I have noticed that each year people have to go to school to understand the new tax laws. When I was travelling I would see the signs your tax dollars at work. I could understand the mill tax so new school buses could be bought after driving some of the old buses that were about to fall apart and spent a lot of time in the maintenance shop getting repairs.

Have ever wondered how many taxes there are?

Have you ever looked at your paycheck and wondered what all the taxes are for? Have you noticed that the taxes come out automatically but you have to go through a process to claim them or hire a lawyer?

RE: If you had to choose which cartoon character best represented you, who would it be? Why?

I still admire Bugs Bunny. Whats up, doc? I thought his antics with Yosemite Sam and others characters was inspirational.

RE: What is the best way to stop terrorism?

I think that is one of our answers. If enough other countries have a stock in us then they would be less likely to try to destroy us because then they would be just cutting their own throats. I think that we should use greed to our advantage. I think that greed could be the anti-virus. After all America is the melting pot. One reason that other countries don't like us is because we try to control other countries. We send missionaries to tell other countries that they are heatherns. I don't think bombing other countries to hell and back is not the answer any more just so that we can rebuild the countries. I fail to see to see the logic of genocide.

RE: I miss the good old days and Violador, Paws, Adventure, etc ...come back!!!!

That is a great place to go, my friend. I remember reading an old literature work of a man who took out his eyes so that he could see more clearly. I have spent some time in the shadows and love to write poems about shadows. The shadow world is a great place to learn things about how we view the world but it is great to come back to the light once we have learned what it is that we needed to learn.

RE: Need a shoulder

My mom lived at Elizabethtown while my sister was being born in 1955. Dad was stationed at Fort Knox. Don't let life get you down. Remember you are next to all the gold.

RE: KILIE IS BACK

I am glad she beat the cancer. We lost four of our residents while we were going to school. I would still rather work in a nursing home than a hospital. Some of the students chose the hospital because of the adrenalin rush and don't like to get to know who they are working with. I prefer to get to know the people even if we do lose them because of age.

You touched my broken heart and I began to heal.
You touched my broken spirit and I began to feel.
You touched my broken soul and I began to see.
You touched my broken life and I began to be.

Such human compassion and how can I repay.
Such a wonderful spark and how it felt that day.
Such a peaceful feeling and how I came to learn.
Such a freedom and how my heart still burns.

There was so many things I just didn't know.
There was a prisoner in me who wanted to flow.
There was a sadness and it just had to let go.
There was a gladness and it just had to grow.

Many were the days I just want to leave.
Many were the days I forgot how to believe.
Many were the days I survived but grieved.
Many were the days I cried and tears relieved.

You are my chosen friend and the joy is mine.
You are my hope when I am just too blind.
You are my light when I see in the night.
You are my peace when I am not right.

Thank you for reading, Nene. :)

I Could Love You From Afar
by RainbowSlider

I could love you from afar.
I could blow you a big kiss.
But could you feel the fire?
How would I know if I miss?
I could write letters of woo.
I could share how I feel.
But are my words are true?
Is it your heart I want to steal?

I could love you from afar.
I could hold your picture here.
But would I rush out in my car?
Would you be there if I came near?
I could risk everything for you.
I could leave if I really desired.
Am I just reading what I want to?
Are my thoughts just hard-wired?

I could love you from afar.
I could hope that you love me.
Why do you live away so far?
What if I am wrong and my sanity?
I could make the biggest mistake.
I could lose all and just for you.
How much more can my heart take?
Would you just let me go, too?

RE: dating your best friend

I would think since he is your best friend that you two could communicate honestly how you feel about each other. This, however is logic. Logic works great for computers. I married my best friend once but at the divorce she was my worse enemy. I can see his point of view. When two date it may be possible that the individuality of each other can be threatened.

RE: The Apostasy in the Church

Apostasy (from Greek ap?stas?a, meaning a defection or revolt , from ap?, apo, "away, apart", stas??, stasis, "standing") is a term generally employed to describe the formal renunciation of one's religion, especially if the motive is deemed unworthy. In a technical sense, as used sometimes by sociologists without the sometimes pejorative connotations of the word, the term refers to renunciation and criticism of, or opposition to one's former religion. One who commits apostasy is an apostate, or one who apostatises. In older Western literature, the term typically referred to baptized Christians who left their faith. Apostasy is generally not a self-definition: very few former believers call themselves apostates and they generally consider this term to be a pejorative. One of the possible reasons for this renunciation is loss of faith, another is the alleged failure of religious indoctrination and/or brainwashing.

Many religious movements consider it a vice (sin), a corruption of the virtue of piety in the sense that when piety fails, apostasy is the result. However, most converts to a new religion can also be considered apostates from a previous belief.

Several religious groups and even some states punish apostates. Apostates may be shunned by the members of their former religious group or worse. This may be the official policy of the religious group or may happen spontaneously, due in some sense to psycho-social factors as well. Catholicism may respond to apostasy by excommunicating the apostate while Islam demands the death penalty, such as in Saudi Arabia.

Conversely, some atheists and agnostics use the term "deconversion" to describe loss of faith in a religion. Self-described "Freethinkers" and those who may view traditional religion negatively may see it as gaining rationality and respect for the scientific method.

The reliability of the testimonies of apostates is an important and controversial issue in the study of apostasy in cults and new religious movements.

The difference between apostasy and heresy is that the latter refers to rejection or corruption of certain doctrines, not to the complete abandonment of one's religion. Heretics claim to still be following a religion (or to be the "true followers"), whereas apostates reject it.

The term is also used to refer to renunciation of belief in a cause other than religion, particularly in politics.

Other terms to describe leaving a faith and the associated process are treated in religious disaffiliation.
