I drove a school bus for two years. I liked driving the bus but unfortunately I had to pick up the kids. The company I worked for helped me to grandfather in to get my commercial driver's license endorsements for tankers and passengers. I had to have the Class A license when I spotted the trailers at work. I enjoyed the Metro buses when I lived in the larger cities but sometimes certain routes were shut down because the lack of passengers. I liked the transfer tickets when I had to transfer from one bus to another. In the heavy trafficked areas like downtown the bus was a pleasure to be in instead of having to drive through it in a car. In one city there were putting in a unirail system because the city thought it would help to take care of the traffic load that could not be taken care of by just buses alone. I have never got to ride the subway but have always been curious about it. It was a hassle at times when I didn't have correct change but I found it necessary to get the prepaid bus booklets. In some cities when you are getting public aid they will give you tokens until you can get a pay check.
I had a blast with a 80 year old lady. She had more energy than me. She was very friendly and added a lot of life to our get together. I can remember hearing that a person is as old as they feel. I would say that she must have felt like she was in her teens, lol.
The company I was working for has been trying to do something about that problem by opening up four plants in Mexico. We had supervisors learning the language so that they could be bilingual. There was so many illegal immigrants working at the plant that they had no choice but to learn the language. There was too many occurences of we don't speak English. I knew one guy called Manuel. I noticed he wasn't around after a while. I inquired about his whereabouts because I had gotten to know him. I was told immigration had came in. I noticed a lot of people missing then. I saw him again later and said, "Hi, Manuel" and he replied, "That isn't my name any more. My name is Pedro, now." The plant had to keep operating. Many of the locals went off to college or where they could make more money. We had the union had the street entrance to the place. The company's view was that if the union was to move in that they would simply move to another location and nobody would have a job. No closed shop in Arkansas. I guess it interferes with business.
I think women respect men who are open and honest. I mean if they are open and honest and you are open and honest then it makes for easier communication theorhetically.
Now, Jean, you are just being difficult. I think a man would want to have a strong woman who does not always agree or obey. Take a look at the pioneers. She had to shoot right along with him when the family was under attack. If he went out hunting he would want to know that she could take care of the home and defend herself against would be attackers. I know from working in jobs that were times I was left in charge. They held me accountable. This makes me think of Adam and Eve. She gave me the apple. So that makes her responsible for you eating it? Then the same question again to Eve. The serpent gave it to me. Then to the serpent. I know you are bad. I already kicked you out of hell and here you are starting the same stuff all over, again. I can't turn my back on you for a minute. (Paraphrasing)
An antiquated social contract that looks good on paper but in reality is a hard thing to accomplish. All three are promises. Love is a promise of friendship. Honor is to make good on one's promise. Obey that a bride used to make to a groom. The problem of obeying is that obeying might be in the best interest of the contract being made. It becomes a contradiction in terms when all three are applied together. To obey means that the woman is not seen as an adult but as a child. This might work in a parent child relationship but even that is a stretch of the imagination. Children do not always obey. To honor love is obey love but not neccesary to obey another person. To not honor love is a breach of the social contract thereby making it null and void.
My mom is my landlord. I got the flat top haircut and now I look like a dork, lol. But mom is happy. That is all that counts, lol. I told her that it will just grow back, lol. She never listens, lol. She had some good spaghetti made up and some toast. She uses bay leaves, mushrooms, home made sauce and hamburger meat. I would tell her that she is a good cook but I am afraid it would go to her head, lol. Besides I didn't leave much in the iron skillet, lol. I also drinked the last of the Lipton iced tea, lol.
I have received the coveted flying finger of fate award on many occasions. I have always tried to return the award because I know the trophy is very coveted.
