The drive to Tybee was nice, wasn't it? And the island is great. If you like a very quiet place to visit, stop at Jeckyll Island near Brunswick, GA. It is a state park with a few condos and hotels but very nice...
We were both very sorry to leave Gatlinberg...it is a wonderful place!! But the best part was meeting Wonderworker. He is a true gentleman and I know that will ruin his CS reputation but he was great to talk to.
Drove up to meet Woodz yesterday through pouring rain...BTW, I will never trust mapquest again... We arrrived late and I apologize to Woodz for that. She was so kind and understanding about our tardiness. I drove back home to North Myrtle Beach last night.
Summer and Woodz want to ride horses this weekend in the mountains. I hope the weather will cooperate!!
It was a real pleasure to meet wonderworker...his elegant words fit the description perfectly...
We had a great time talking and wish we could have spent more time in Tennessee to meet other CS'ers like TennesseeJudy, Don (The Kansan) and Jackie (Jackson). But we had to get going to meet another charming and nice CS'er Woodz...
Thank you so much for lunch WW (he was so kind to treat us) and for the book. Summer allowed me to keep it so I can read it before we meet again.
I left Summer in great hands yesterday and I hope she and Woodz have a great time!!!
The fun just continues on the road. We drove up from North Myrtle Beach yesterday to Gatlinberg, TN. The drive through the Smokey Mountains was so beautiful until a huge storm came upon us. We made our way through the storm just in time for our entrance into Gatlinberg. What a beautiful sight to see!!
The town is full of shops and restaurants and is so quaint. The mountains surround the town and our hotel is incredible. We have a rushing creek right outside our balcony...just amazing.
There is so much to do here you really need a week or even 2 to get anything done. We mainly walked around town and took a drive to Pigeon Forge about 7 miles away to see where Dollywood is...lol. The whole town is basically set up for Dollywood tourists so we turned around and came back. Summer took some great pics of the mountains along some lookout points around Gatlinberg.
We ate dinner last night at a nice restaurant in Gatlinberg. Never dare Summer to do something because she will accept the dare... I dared her to fling some key lime pie from a spoon into my face. First she stuck the spoon up my nose and then flung the rest at me! We just cracked up laughing...I will have my revenge someday...
We had a nice dinner tonight and listened to a great band afterwards. We called it an evening and we hate to leave but we hit the road again tomorrow.
We had a very nice dinner out tonight and decided to skip the movie and come home and pack. Can't believe her time here has come and gone so quickly...but...
We are taking the great time here in North Myrtle Beach on the road!!! Watch out Great Smoky Mountains because Summer is headed your way!!! We will have the laptop with us so further updates of Ken and Summer's wild adventure to be continued...
Say Something...No Names Need To Be Mentioned...
Hope Bodie won't tell any tales...
