Ah jaysis don't ask that.

Children's Referendum

The Government has been spinning a story that for a child to be adopted away from it's parent/s it must be in care for 3 years and in the home of the adoptive parents for 18 months. There is no mention of that in the bill except to say that conditions for a child to be taken away shall be prescribed by law . In other words they (the EU) can make a law at any time to invent the rules for children to be taken from the home. How is this helping children?

The same judicial system that sent children into orphanages and industrial schools will rule on the childs future. The same social workers who have been failing families for decades will be advising on whether or not someone is failing in their duty with regard to their children and defining the best interests of the child?

For instance would a Jehovas Witness family be a place where the best interests of the child would be looked after considering they don't allow blood transfusions? Or a family where the father is anti-Feminist or the mother a devout Catholic? How about Muslims? Surely a family that 'oppresses women' couldn't be a safe place for a child? I for one would hesitate before giving such power to Feminist idealogues and unelected European politicians. If you want to protect the children of this nation go out and give their a big NO!

Children's Referendum

Thirty-First Amendment of the Constitution

PROPOSED NEW ARTICLE 42A

Children

1. The State recognises and affirms the natural and imprescriptible rights of all children and shall, as far as practicable, by its laws protect and vindicate those rights.

2. 1° In exceptional cases, where the parents, regardless of their marital status, fail in their duty towards their children to such extent that the safety or welfare of any of their children is likely to be prejudicially affected, the State as guardian of the common good shall, by proportionate means as provided by law, endeavour to supply the place of the parents, but always with due regard for the natural and imprescriptible rights of the child. 2° Provision shall be made by law for the adoption of any child where the parents have failed for such a period of time as may be prescribed by law in their duty towards the child and where the best interests of the child so require.

3. Provision shall be made by law for the voluntary placement for adoption and the adoption of any child. 4. 1° Provision shall be made by law that in the resolution of all proceedings - i brought by the State, as guardian of the common good, for the purpose of preventing the safety and welfare of any child from being prejudicially affected, or ii concerning the adoption, guardianship or custody of, or access to, any child, the best interests of the child shall be the paramount consideration. 2° Provision shall be made by law for securing, as far as practicable, that in all proceedings referred to in subsection 1° of this section in respect of any child who is capable of forming his or her own views, the views of the child shall be ascertained and given due weight having regard to the age and maturity of the child.

Holy Mother of God WESTERNSTAR1 that has to be the nastiest music video I've seen that didn't have Madonna or Britney Spears in it laugh

RE: Ya can't beat the Dubs...

Actually I was dragged up for a while in Dublin but I'm thinking we were not neighbours laugh

RE: Ya can't beat the Dubs...

That is certainly true. People in places like Seattle, San Francisco, Melbourne, Shanghai, Caracas and Paris can only sigh over their morning coffee that by the grace of God they were not born in beautiful Dublin uh oh

RE: Ya can't beat the Dubs...

That's a real Ballymun accent. I'd say he supports Methadone United laugh

RE: Ya can't beat the Dubs...

Two Cavan men fighting over a penny?

RE: Ya can't beat the Dubs...

I lived in Cavan for a short time in the 70's and all I can say is you can't beat Cavan people for thinking up novel ways to not pay for a drink laugh

Great Retro Motown sound
Dedicated to all the blaggers, bashers and bouncers (sorry, door staff)

RE: Dexter

No, you're safe enough with me. No mental issues. On the planet Klagigabag (where I'm from) we out-evolved mental illness many yarns ago laugh

RE: Dexter

They're everywhere. Isn't it one in 25 people? Worse still, only a TV character like Dexter is compelled by the Code of Harry.

RE: 10 things that changed women`s lives or ?

Well done girls. So we're up to the circular saw, wiper blades, nappies, diswashers.... The world is saved laugh

RE: 10 things that changed women`s lives or ?

I think women are great to have invented all that stuff laugh

RE: a song about the book of revelations (last chapter in the bible)

Ah Revelations, what a great book. I'm sure John The Revelator had to be on the magic mushrooms when he wrote that. But he was spot on. Did ya see the way he described the coat of arms of the House of Windor down to the last claw and horn?

Trippy man!

RE: R.I.R.A. Funeral

You're a big auld British Lil tongue

RE: EARS-4

They're all goodies. Why aren't we running a radio station at least. Although it would probably be more the Joe Duffy Liveline than Larry Gogans Golden Hour. Nite all!

RE: R.I.R.A. Funeral

I know that's what happened but you know what I'm saying too. Republicanism was about ending British rule on this island not getting a share of it. If armed struggle was right then it's right now. If it's wrong now it was wrong then.

All I see is the PIRA/SF saying, "we have been penetrated, we are tired, we are being offered a good pay off and participation in the British administration so the war is over and you lot had better stop too." Not very convincing.

RE: Is the prophet Mohammed just a tad over sensitive?

Maybe you can help me out with a reference for your '50 virgins for devout muslims'comment I aske you for earlier. Try searching Irish Independent archives or The Sun maybe. That's probably where you read it laugh
