She was probably knocking you back because she didn't like your shoes or teeth or something like that but she didn't want to show herself up as shallow so she tried to appear deep and thoughtful
So she was in the queue with her friend and her friends mother waiting to pay for items they had. She was allegedly seen by a store detective taking two items from downstairs and concealing them on her person, not in her bag. The detective followed her and gave her the option of returning or paying for the items but she said she had no money... so she went downstairs and got two similar items to the two the store detective said she had seen her take and which she said was recorded on camera. She came back up with the items and paid for them. How? Did her friend or her friends aunt give her the money? Why didn't the complain when the two paid for items were retained by the shop? Seems to be a major inconsistency there
It would seem the store detective felt the items were concealed intimately on the young womans body and gave her the option to buy two similar items if she would not or could not retrieve the 'stolen' items. Either that or the Gardai would be called and she would have a full body search in Store Street.
I may have some version wrong here. Perhaps the best thing is to have a strong steady male influence in her life sit down with her and hear her version again. I do hope she has a steady male role-model? Because otherwise girls of that age can lead their mother on a merry dance.
That's right. She should get a solicitor and sue them. Some of the store detectives these days are utter morons. You have no right to approach a customer unless they have committed an offence. My advice, if you believe this story, is get a solicitor. They will settle in a heartbeat.
