RE: Ex-Soldiers and broken Hearts

And it must be difficult to adjust from army life which is collective, regimented and disciplined into modern civvy life which is individualistic, listless and liberal. All of this on top of having to adjust to the peace, and where the(usually)blue collar industries that would suit a returning soldier have been outsourced to China resulting in the politicians blowing the public kitty on makework for redundant workers instead of spending it on returning soldiers.

RE: Ex-Soldiers and broken Hearts

The modern world is motivated by rational self-interest and soldiering is based on romantic self-sacrifice(loyalty to cause, country and comrade). Now the soldier can't say to his superiors "sorry, I won't guard the ammo dump tonight because it looks a bit risky and it's not in my rational self-interest to do so" but the women at home have no such restraints, and tonight she may very well find herself a different guy because it is in her rational self-interest to do so whereas loyalty is not.

RE: Who do you prefer?? Irish history.

Ok, I've finished lampooning tragic events of Irish history now. I voted for Michael Collins.

RE: Who do you prefer?? Irish history.

And then there's Bono with this of course. Which I think really captures the frustration of a Sunday. You've got to visit your in-laws, wash the car and mow the lawn with the kids running round and you think to yourself 'Sunday Bloody Sunday!'

RE: Could you sacrifice passion/love for money/security?

I'm a romantic on a personal, political and philosophical level, but I still know that romance is not more fundamental than survival. And many men and women settle as they come to realise that they don't have the value to warrant their romantic ambitions.

Would people sacrifice passion and love for security? Well, they're never more than 3 meals away from gutting their nextdoor neighbour for a loaf of bread. I can tell the people on here have never known what hunger is. This answers the question.

RE: Who do you prefer?? Irish history.

The potato famine was always a personal favie of Irish history. Tho I always thought that if it's just the potatoes that were effected, you would suffer if you're a fussy eater. And surely if you could afford to emigrate then you could afford to eat in a modest-priced restaurant?

RE: you know what ?

Also worth mentioning that sewing footballs is a well-suited industry for nations trillions in debt. Take note boomer moms, if your daughter doesn't end up doing a job like this then her daughter almost certainly will.

RE: you know what ?

I wonder how many White feminists there would be if this was the world of work they faced?

RE: Ok, Mens perspective. How do men show they are in love?

And doesn't pee on it

RE: Ok, Mens perspective. How do men show they are in love?

I draw smiley faces on my lady's tampons and I replaced the copy of Fifty Shades of Grey on her bookshelf with a copy of the Angling Times.

RE: Ok, Mens perspective. How do men show they are in love?

I share the remote for at least one full(half)hour each day.
I will let you decide what we have for dinner every third Thursday of the month.
And I'll even let you choose your own clothes.

RE: Are modern women interested in casual dating?

RE: Are modern women interested in casual dating?

It's never truly pointless with all the emotion involved. I know that secretly she does want to be able to turn me into something that I am not, and she probably knows that secretly I agree with her more than I let on. It's all about the journey along the way.

RE: Why Great America will remain super power in next more than 100 years too.?

Do you think Africa can make it?

In the days before the Boomers where White kudos was still widely respected across the world Africa still failed. And whilst the Chinese may be technically astounding and achieve feats of brilliance greater than even Britons have ever known, they don't have the culture, they don't have the charisma and they do not provide the civilisational role model that the White race one did.

Wherever practicably possible the Chinese will exclude the natives from any of their enterprises in Africa - which makes sense for making money but it's not good for winning hearts and minds - and I believe that Chinese ruthlessness, insular ethics, exclusivity and racial lack of compassion will come to anger the Blacks of Africa in a way yet unseen.

RE: Couldn't care less or Could care less ?

It is a pet hate of mine to hear people say "I could care less" when what they actually mean is "I couldn't care less", it's like people saying literally when they mean the complete opposite.

These are things I could care less about. They really annoy me.

RE: Fact that polls are being taken over by regulars here is:

Would you rather nobody posted instead?

RE: is smoking a rebellion against society?

Smoking is a taboo in a way that it wasn't before. So yes. But rebellious doesn't mean that something's brave or cool or in some way romantic to do.

RE: can the world cup unite the peoples of the world..?

I'd say the world cup brings a country together which is good enough for me. We really should stop dreaming of a united world when many don't even know the neighbour next door.

RE: Do you believe afterlife afterlife?

Hm. Has he tried drugs? I find that drugs are the answer to the most important questions in life.

RE: Clinton

Spoilt. Robot. Virus. Hypocrite. Entitled. Ego Jedi. Vainglorious. Narcissist. Bernankefied a**hole. The list goes on and on. And all is to say that Hillary deserves that face.

RE: Do you believe afterlife afterlife?

90% of the time a man's interest in philosophy is motivated by the lack of a girlfriend professor

RE: Do you believe afterlife afterlife?

I'm going to go with Nietzsche's(and friends)one where you die and repeat this life an infinite number of times. So every mistake you ever made will be repeated over and over again for all eternity. No pressure but, you better not screw up.

RE: Older woman (another update)

Thank you lips

RE: Older woman (another update)

I also think she should go out with him. You've got judge each person on their merits. Although he is no scammer, he could be a cad.

On a completely unrelated matter: when you put a chicken in the oven are you supposed to take the string off first?

RE: Older woman (another update)

Doing it in public, going to much effort, stroking ego to this extent. It's not usual to do this, but you're right it's lighthearted so it doesn't come over as creepy or somehow wrong and it's just an in.

I'm not looking to quibble. There's no criticism from me. But if you do date him, do be careful.

RE: Older woman (another update)

He's breaking rules without breaking tingles - I don't doubt that you'd like this guy.

But Kaybee's right, beware of charming insincerity.

RE: Older woman (another update)

Unloaised must be loving this. And I must say you've handled this very well as this easily could have gone more creepy and try hard that it has done. I only wonder how you'll top this kind of public ego-stroking in the future??

RE: Can Asian women experience true love at all, I am having my doubts now.

Hundreds of years ago when the West was a lot poorer what we consider romance today was reserved for the aristocracy - Romeo & Juliet were aristocrats for example. It was a luxury to be able to follows one's heart/tingle without considering much more practical concerns.

The non-white world doesn't have the wealth of luxury that we do, and so their cultures have a different attitude towards commitment and love which may not be so visceral and heartfelt, but it's much more likely to last. The non-white woman's relationship with a man is much more based upon practical necessity, and the White woman's relation is based upon fickle desire and(oftentimes)outright irresponsibility.

RE: Can Asian women experience true love at all, I am having my doubts now.

You're clearly not the highest bidder. It's not the fact that she's Asian per se, but the fact that you are a White(and presumably older)man and she is an Asian woman. And although in general Asian women cannot afford to be as romantic or tingle-driven as White women and need to be more practical and sensible, the pragmatic ulterior motives of the Asian woman become much more pronounced when you are the wealthier white man.

RE: Do you believe afterlife afterlife?

At the age of 87 I plan to have my conscious essence bluetoothed into a newborn child. Just to be sure.
