In return for three months of redemption and about $15 billion, congressional Democrats and the Bush administration were honing a pact Monday night that would put the industry's future under government scrutiny and perhaps grant Washington a majority stake in either General Motors Corp. or Chrysler LLC. As with the first rescue plan, automakers would have to pledge stock to the government equal to 20% of the loan value in return for the money, and the loans would be senior to all of the company's other debts. GM's market value rose to $3 billion Monday following a rally in its shares on Wall Street due to word of a compromise; the company has asked for up to $18 billion in aid.
The draft bill also makes a few more symbolic demands -- barring the companies from using corporate jets, and asking them to study whether they could use some factory space to build buses or light rail trains.

In 1990... A big black clouded rainstorm was heading towards me. I had 5 trailers to move out from the dock doors of the warehouse. I asked God if He would separate the storm so I could stay dry to complete my work, just until I get the last trailer in the door and unhooked.
The black sky came up to the edge of the property where I was working, separated to form a rectangle of clear blue sky above me, over the warehouse parking lot. It was raining so hard, you could not see thru it. I got all 5 trailers moved, unhooked and headed toward the office to tell my boss I was finished. The sky closed overhead and rained so hard as I ran towards the building!
Perhaps I should have asked him to hold it for that too?
He did this, only because I asked, and because of his love for me. I am no one special. He would have done it for anyone.

Thursday, December 11, 2008 WASHINGTON - Prospects for a $14 billion auto industry rescue bill dimmed Thursday amid growing opposition in both parties and despite urgent appeals by both President-elect Barack Obama and President George W. Bush.
Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell came out against the legislation - the product of a hard-fought behind-the-scenes compromise between the majority Democrats and the White House. And not even the White House's argument that it was crucial at a time of rising joblessness seemed to restore lost momentum for enactment.
Proponents scrounged for the votes to clear the legislation as early as Thursday afternoon. President George W. Bush was lobbying for the bill, as well, arguing that the economy can't stand massive new layoffs. Obama said the country can't stand by and watch the industry collapse.
I just wonder what will happen if their "scare tactics" do not work and we don't play into their hands?????? It will be interesting. We could put a stop to the socialistic takeover by the US Government!!! Just Say NO! NO! NO! NO!NO MORE!!!!!
Well, I am not experiencing any type of seasonal depression and do not really experience depression at all, but that's me. Also, I believe I am entering into a new relationship, just stepping through the doorway of the invitation, even today. It is not circumstantial due to the season of the year, it is something my heart has longed for, for many years. I know it is right. You just have to follow your heart in this matter. For each, it is different. It may only be a stepping stone, to prepare you for the ultimate relationship. Only you will know. If you are leary, listen to your heart. If you see and hear and feel warning signs, where some things just don't add up, I suggest you steer clear. But wondering about it superficially and putting things into a perspective which does not exist, as a "what if", carries no weight at all. Base your decision on what you know of the reality of the situation.
Well, I see it as a planned action. The collapse, all of it. Planned by the Federal Reserve Bank and the elite who own the banks and major coorporations. It is a plan to further the control of the federal government.
They get their piece of the pie! They are exchanging the bailout monies for partial ownership of the business!!!
Just as we promised, Congressional leaders weren't content with their $700 billion bailout this past fall and are ready to pass another one -- this time for the American automotive industry.

But that's not all.
More intervention like this means greater government oversight and regulation -- and more inflation as the government prints and spends even more dollars.
As one economic thinker once reflected, a subsidy may be a form of establishment, but it's really a means of capture.
Even if the bailout passes the house, we have a chance to muster some opposition in the Senate.

I think this time of year is the perfect time of year for beginning new relationships. It is a joyful time. People have less activities durring the winter months, which leaves more time for communicating and getting to know one another.

Myself and many others, find no amusement in the side show bob antics of squabbling. We should not want to inflict harm on any one. This includes mentallly. To degrade another because they disagree even by using superior knowledge can leave scars and create discontent. It is negativity. Bad vibes, you know?
I was one who always had to have the last word, had to prove I was right and make the other person see it my way. I have a magnet on my refrigerator that reads, "Save Time... See it MY WAY". Now, it is a reminder to let it go, and to laugh! But I was very rigid in that belief for most of my life. Even as a child, my father told me I should be a lawyer. "You would are over a sign post that didn't have a word on it!", he would say to me. I'll tell you what... Freedom is... not having to always prove you are right, even sometimes admiting you are wrong when you know you are not, to save a friendship to one who has not yet gained the ability or the insight which you have attained.
Along with many other vitamins, such as vitamin C, even the FDA finally had to endorse it, as much as they hated to admit it, there was too much proof as to its healing power!
Spiritually, we can not use logic to prove it, as its very existance is purely illogical.
We were all created, blinded and deaf to spiritual things. This was done with a purpose, that we would seek to have the blinders removed, in finding the energy with removes them.
I am not here to say that anyones belief is wrong. All beliefs are a form of self-discipline which brings growth and improvement in the individual. Although Al and Trish and many others proclaim athiesm, they still have a belief system of unity with nature and all things. Perhaps it has not reached its perfection in their understanding, yet it is, as they grow and mature through the journey of life. I choose to see different stages of spiritual beliefs as stepping stones, leading towards eternal unity with all things. Some of their beliefs have helped me to gain understanding of many of the things I have wondered about, in my own spirituality. I am thankful for them and the love I have for them. I do not like the arguing on the threads, as I believe we should present everything in a loving manner. But this is who I am, perhaps more mature in knowing how to live in love, but it has been a long journey to reach this point. I will not disrespect those who see things differently than I do. It just is not right to do, and it would grieve my spirit to do such a thing. I choose to live in JOY, sharing LOVE in all I say and do.
It is okay to disagree and it is glory to a man to overlook an offense. Sometimes we have to lay down our pride, even apologize when we are not in the wrong, to gain peace and unity. Be the better man and let it go! HL
Al, many who lack understanding may call themselves Christians. Your focus on the wars... I have not this experience therefore I do not have a credible responce concerning this.

It is Christ, Al I will share 1 instance, of thousands I have experienced.
The voice directed me to exit the interstate, told me which truckstop to go to, told me where to park. I got out of the truck and my feet took me to the fuel island, where a man was seated, (whom I did not know was there, I had not seen him) who said to me, "Hi, I have been waiting for you, will you pray for me?" I anointed his head with oil and began to pray. He stopped me suddenly. "What do my eyes look like, are they foggy?" I told him they were clear. "My eyes are always foggy", he said. Then the man leaped into the air, jumping and shouting, "I've been delivered! I've been delivered!" When he calmed down some, I learned he had been strung out on drugs, was walking down the road on Sunday, when a car stopped, picked him up, took him to church and he asked Jesus in his heart. I showed up the Wednesday night following. The man was waiting for me to come pray with him that he may receive deliverance. The man was full of JOY after receiving deliverance!
This did not happen because I thought it out through my energies. It happened because there is POWER in the blood of Christ and in His Name!
Now, please explain to me the voice of this energy. This energy has conversations with me. Detailed conversations, specific instructions, and sends me to speak to people and words come out of my mouth on things I know nothing about. I choose to believe this energy is a person... invisible.
Don't you know that we are a spirit living in an earthly human body only for a short while? Could it be true that spirit converses with spirit?
This spirit, God, is a reality, not an addiction. Also, it LOVES and fills you with the energy of love! Sure, I'm addicted to LOVE! Nothing at all wrong with that!

You argue this point continually, not realizing that you lack understanding in the subject only because you lack the experience and relationship, in that you are not the diety of the godhead in bodily form, yet such who have received Christ have become this as well as have been given the mind of Christ.
You can not argue with an experience of another. It is their experience. Their reality.
This is just not true, Al. Untruths also create feelings. When people speak untruths about me or others, it hurts me deeply. Not their words necessarally, but the fact that others infringe on the freedom one has to believe, grow, and do as they are destined. We all travel on different life paths, each person is unique. Many a life has been stunted or even quenched only because of cruel words spoken. We should not speak down to anyone. We all have been blessed to live on the planet. There is enough room for all of us. We should encorage and help one another along the way, not run them off the road. There is no right or wrong, for what we may believe is right in one moment of life, as we travel the hills and curves, mountains and vallies, perception changes. It is the perception of the moment which becomes our reality... for that moment... subject to change again... in a later moment.
We could get a little "deep" here and state that not everyone sleeps in their body. Some journey and return in the morning. While my body sleeps, I dismiss my spirit to go before the throne of God to worship. When I wake in the morning, a worship song is playing in my mind.
Sweet and Sour at times, though I try not to allow sour on CS!!!
I do have my moments in real life... we all do.
But I do my best to show love to all of mankind at all times, even when provoked. Many times it is very hard to do. None of us are perfect, but I do find that those who truly KNOW love, have more success in distributing love, unconditionally.
